Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I really liked the old scoring system. To have a bourbon that’s flavorful AND affordable AND available, was super helpful in deciding how to best use my whiskey budget. Great episode. Keep up the great work.
My wife and I just celebrated our 30 year anniversary this weekend. We went to a very nice restaurant and I ordered a $40 pour of George T. Stag because of your videos. I was not disappointed. Thank you so much for helping me make our special day, super special.
Sorry, I don’t know how I missed this video until just now. You picked my question! Thank you! Erin, don’t worry about it, almost no one pronounces my name right. Josh, I’m actually super impressed you pronounced it correctly! My first neat pour that I liked was WT101 And the one that got me into bourbon as a hobby was Bookers 2018-04 kitchen table. I even named my dog Booker 😅
100% agree on more American single malt coming to the market . I just bought two bottles from brands I’ve never heard of. One was the ASW Tire Fire, a “peaty” American single malt coming from Atlanta and a Field and Sound bib American single malt out of NY.
I just came to the channel late last year. I really need to go back and watch some of these older videos with the original scoring. Been hearing too much about it not to see for myself.
Technically, ECBP (and way more bottles than you would think) has always been “allocated.” Any given store cannot just order it as desired, which gets into however your “allocation” works. Allocation is such a weird word. Shane or Dr. Pat at Wilderness Trail said not too far back that all WT is allocated…but as we know now…100% gettable. In my market (OKC), ECBP is a get it when it drops, cuz it will be gone tomorrow. Now batches like B523, and I bet A124 will keep popping back up.
My bourbon bubble burst. I still have some faves and some bottle I will grab if I see them, but I've found the 30-50 dollar bottles I like as well as most of the 70-90 dollar bottles and I'm usually happy with my decanter blend of Knob Creek 9 and Wild Turkey 101 and can't be bothered to search or spend more
I ❤ the card flinging. Why do people say "gifted" all of a sudden, when "given" has been around forever and means the same thing? 🤔 I have an actual question for the next time: How do distilleries sell whiskey in their own gift shops given the three tier system? I hope that the stuff doesn't have to go from the distillery to a distributor's warehouse, and then back to the distillery - and it would be nice if this were an exception to the cumbersome three tier system, though I wouldn't want to bet on it.
The challenge on the last question was wrong answers only. Like Josh was on a chip n dales interview for a local coyote ugly ladies night. Erin was cataloging the content for the interviewing team. He saw the Bulleit rye neat pour in her hand and just knew she wasn’t necessarily looking for the eye candy type in a man. She had depth and personality that only a confident woman would show in her choice of pour. Josh offered a coy glance, ordered his own neat pour of Bulleit rye and the rest is match making history. Oh, and Josh got the gig, but turned it down. He picked up Erin for their first date at Coyote Ugly. Happily ever after! ❤❤🥃🥃
I don't have a channel, but I have in the 175 range. Now the question becomes, before I was introduced to whiskey tube, how many did I have? I would say 35. Mostly malt.
If your prediction is true I'm golden. I don't get wrapped up in age statements and have zero interest in single malts. Personally people put too much value in age statements. I've had some young whiskeys that blow some 10+ years out of the water. Let them chase age. I chase flavor.
Good stuff! This added a lot of personality to your already personable videos. It’s not easy to make talking head videos, keeping them interesting. You have the formula cracked.
Turtle Race!?! Is that the wrong answer? a euphemism ? I must have missed that in my time in Nashville. Also, I feel like 5 bottles and >100 Bottles are very good categories of the two main types of Whiskey enthusiasts.
Josh , I think you need a bigger Keneel , Erin has you right where she needs you . Great to see her put you under her thumb these days , makes me smile so much too , enjoy
You said you work for UPS are you a road driver or residential driver. And how long have you been working there. JD is doing amazing things hopefully they continue to keep pricing down as they have.
LOL you two are exactly my wife and I. I cook mostly, she is level headed I am not, she likes rye more than bourbon, we compliment each other perfectly. And she would love your watch Erin If you have ever seen the show Fringe that is us. Same couples different universes. 😊

I liked the old scoring system, too. But I also like the more relaxed vibe of the newer videos.
It just hit me after the first card fling how great it would be to hear glass crashing i.e. David Letterman style. 🙂

30 years is a wonderful milestone! Cheers and happy anniversary to y’all!

Friggin awesome dog name! Biased as my grandfather has a chocolate lab named Booker as well. Cheers Brenden!

Great ying and yang between the two of you!
Thanks so much Vince! Cheers!

Prepared to be 1) amazed, or 2) extremely bored and/or confused. 😂

There is definitely some great affordable whisky out there.

Who picks up the cards after the episode?
That’s grunt work, which means I do (this is Josh BTW). 😂
Another fun, feel good video. I love the chemistry between you two. Keep the videos coming 🥃❤️🥃

Amazing! Better believe we’re asking for more stories like this from the comments on future Q&A videos!
Great content y’all!
Appreciate you brother! Cheers!
LOVE THE SHIRT JOSH!! ✝️🙏🏼
Josh put on his Bossy Pants today! Tight in the front, tighter in the back
😂😂
😅
Can’t find Found North anywhere!
I buy direct from their website
They have limited in store distribution but their website ships as do sites like SharedPour and Seelbachs.
@@stuffandwhiskey thank you! Completely sold out on all those sites. I’ll keep trying!

💯
Just tried Jack Daniels Barrel Proof Rye. As someone who hasn't been much of a rye fan, that stuff is fantastic.

How does a person get nominated for Matt Madness?
Matt Porter at ADHD Whiskey would be the man to ask there. Pretty sure it’s some Hagwarts-level wizardry.
I've been predicting that allocated price market will peak this year. They'll be testing just how far the market can go this year. Just my prediction.

That’s a huge compliment! Thank you!

Wrong in the ECBP, it's wasn't only stats, ask store owners and some stores would only get 1 bottle
That’s always been the case as it’s a limited release. It isn’t becoming more limited though. Demand was just unusually high for C923.
@stuffandwhiskey It has not always been the case, my entire state got 70 cases, when it usually gets double or more...

Thanks for answering my question! But single malt tho 😩
When Beam and Jack invest in it, you know it’s serious.
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
Is there really a Josh whiskey budget?😅
100%. We budget everything, and by we, I mean Erin.
That's like us someone needs to hit the break.😂
I don’t like the way Erin pronounces the word THE…
..and she knows why 😜
I am 100% with you there. We both know why and we both know it’s entirely unnecessary, and she definitely does it on purpose. 😂
Hated the old scoring system! lol. Loving just a simple thumbs up/thumbs down. I’m a simple man.
Queue the Skynyrd!
