I feel obligated to point out that the 60-75% rule is incorrect. Physics tells us that the greater the radius, the greater the rotational force. The tip of the stick is the most dangerous. That being said, an unskilled attacker may be more likely to make solid contact with an area slightly behind that, whereas the end of the stick may land a glancing blow.
That's the sweet spot that all soft ball and baseball players know. It just smacks the ball the farthest and produces thr least amount of shock. You can feel th3 sweet spot just lightly tapping it up and down until you can feel the solid pop l.
know its old, but its cuz u till have mass at the tip so the strike below stick end will be stronger cuz its still slower than tip but have more energy than tip bc of aditional mass (thats why they are shaped that way) also the distance is not that big (in proper clubs) so it doesnt look like this stick in the video
These guys were always fun back in the day. Their tape of pistol disarms with sims is funny when they shoot one of their ear lobes off demoing the wrong way to do the technique.
So basically where you marked the tape is where the power is the most power from in that area. It's like all the leverage from the hand in your body goes all the way up into that tape area and creates all that power. You said earlier that if you get it a certain way and it doesn't go inside the tape area it's like getting hit with a hand.
You can either step into your opponent before he can get in a complete swing of the bat, or you allow him to swing, and then step in before he can get in another swing.
If the person attacking you with a bat misses the first swing. They are probably drunk or hopeless at fighting to begin with. If you take a weapon into a fight and can’t use it you’re dead. It will be used against you once you’re down. I’ve seen it happen with a skateboard lmao.
thats a nice stick to have when you have a situation on the street where you have room but for close range i would prefer a one handed and more balance club.
Yep that's why my sledgehammer at work uses the sweet spot for the hammer part lol. I can poke you with the end of a sledgehammer and you'll feel pain, trust me. And you'd have to be massively confident in your opponent's movement to step into a strike like that. Rarely works in real life.
People have lost the olds ways of attacking with a stick or anything else like a stick. When gaining power to strike, you must guard your space in order to be successful with your strike.
Tell that to Tyson and his trademark hooks. Or better yet, any Boxer ever who has gotten worked with power shots up close in the pocket. So many martial arts scientists in the comments here, it's hilarious.
@@viktorg6823 Dude, there's close, and then there's super close(the type of close that I was talking about). In which at Tyson's punching range(and other body puncher's range) you can generate power with power punches like uppercuts, and hook shots to the body & head. But when you get super close to your opponents your punches are smothered, and way less effective.
@@viktorg6823 Martial arts scientists? It doesn’t take a fucking scientist to know that getting hit with a proper punch is worse than getting hit with a punch that accelerates from 6 inches away. A professional boxer can throw a damaging blow in a clinch, but that isn’t what this video is about. If a professional boxer tries to fight you in the street, you’re fucked. It doesn’t matter if he has a bat or if he has one hand tied behind his back.
that's right it's most powerful point is at that end of weapon. when it's swinging so you don't want to be at that tip of it when strikes because it will seriously CLEAN YOUR CLOCK.. & IT WILL BE LIGHTS OUT FOR YOU... so soon as that attacker is about to strike DON'T MOVE BACK... go into his line of attack & take his on coming momentum
You are delusional. It doesnt take that much of a hit to the neck to knock you out via the vagus nerve. Another point, why would you step into the swing like that? You only enter right before or right after a swing.

If you wait until he swings and he misses, you can just step right in and give him a quick POP on the side of the head.

How do we defend ourselves against a cannon
the 'sweet spot' the 'center of percussion'
This same rule applies to punching as far as when you close the distance with an opponent the punching power is less effective.
