Great video! Thanks for sharing this. I see in the comments you said this truck was at about 25 to 30k on the last filter change, which was one of my questions. I do mine around 15 to 17 k. We have winterized Diesel here in Elko Nevada, but I still use a winter additive. Maybe not needed but rather be safe than sorry. Currently finishing up my Optilube winter formula additive, then will switch to Amsoil or Archoil. I've seen -10 to -15 temps here.
@richwitt3559 thats cold. Gets cold in the desert. It will definitely gel at that temperature and you don't want that. We do the fuel filters every 15k. This one apparently got missed cause the vehicle service log wasn't updated. But it's fixed now. Did you see the brake flush video that you requested?
It's not dirty. It's brand new. It's a "charcoal filter" is what the maintenance guy said. It's like a light brown copper color in the center. Why they call it charcoal if it's brownish copper I have no idea. But it's only like 3 days old lol.
@@BeardedFordTech Oh ok, yeah I know charcoal... On video it looks dirty... All good then. I figured you'd be up on your maintenance being the guy you are but I was like.. Aw, man maybe it got away from you sort of thing... Hahahaha... All good!
Another great video. Does this mean you are catching up on maintenance missed in the past? How do you have filters set up now? Every second oil change? Asking ..I have no idea on a fleet vehicle that prob idles a lot.
@Uncle_Fester24 this one wasn't updated until the vehicle service log. We usually do fuel filters every 15k. This one was probably around 25-30k maybe. Wasn't horrible. But wasn't good. I think I'm almost caught up on past vehicle stuff. May be a few stragglers out there.
Is that the same fuel-filter that is on my F-250? The one at the tank, that is. I thought mine was on the frame-rail and my water-separator was on the tank. That fun separator with the plastic handle that apparently likes to break. I'm just curious. Mine's still going strong. I am beginning to wonder if the metal we found that one time was from the pump, like others suggested. I mean to be sure the CP4 can't go forever if it's dumping shavings, right?
@GuretoSefirosu yours is a midship tank. This is a dually rear wheel after Axle tank. Same filter though. That metal had to be from the pump. Nowhere else for it to come from. CP4 is one of those things you can't put a number on. So go a long time. Some don't go far at all.
@@BeardedFordTech WHat I meant about the pump was that several people told me that they have had fuel shavings from a bad fuel pump at a fuel island, at a truck stop. I am wondering if that was my case. Either way it's going strong.
@@eduardocampos2214 no. Forscan is for changing things in modules and turning things on and off. And some module programming. And trading codes. Things like that. I've never seen a test like this in forscan
Ford dealer ruined my weekend by not seating upper fuel line properly and spraying diesel all over the place My truck still stinks since Thursday Going to spray simple green under hood tomorrow and hose it off and run through car wash It's sad when dealer tech rushes and makes a mistake Shit does happen, and I get it, but they should of did some cleaning before giving me truck back
@nysucks4508 dawn apple scent dish soap works best to get rid of diesel smell. We also use dawn dish soap and sugar for and cleaner. Best hand cleaner ever. Thank me later. And yeah. It's sad they gave it back thay way. Things do happen i understand. But that's just careless

Thanks for the great video as always... Your dirty air filter in the air handler unit on the wall gives me anxiety. LOL

Awesome to see this in action! Thanks. Do you know if this is something one could do with Forscan?
@claytonlehman4628 ypu can't do this with forscan. Forscan is for pulling codes and turning things on and off and some minor programming stuff.
Great vid !
Thank you. And thank you for watching.

Thanks for posting. Good information. Did they do PM on the fuel filter, or just let it go? What was the mileage - ok 165K.
It got skipped over. Vehucle service log wasn't updated. It's one of my fleet vehicles. We change them out every 15k miles.
Hello Anthony, can this test be performed with Forscan?
