Dude I love how in depth you go with everything. I can't stand those tutorials that tell you to arbitrarily spin knobs and you get a bass wobble. I wanna know the science behind it. You earned a sub. Keep it up!
I've been producing music for around 7 years and I'm upset I haven't started this series already. Your way of explaining sound concepts is eye-opening and I hope to learn and apply these useful concepts in my own music
I sold keyboards for the better part of a year in NYC..I'd say that upwards of 90% of my customers didn't read their product manuals, played mostly presets and weren't aware of just what their equipment could do...So it's great to see a guy who is just the opposite...These videos are really making me wanna explore FL studio which to my ears , along w N.I has the most beautiful synth instruments. Certainly the most original..They are quickly becoming my favorite. Also, my eyebrow goes up when I read about people who rewire a program like FL to Propellorhead Reason...My guess is , that they don't know all of this in depth stuff about FL ..Because how long are you gonna spend in the learning phase? You're gonna learn additive and FM synthesis on FL and that's not enough for you? Then you're gonna port over to Reason and route all those cables and program "Kong?".. SeamlessR doesn't use anything but FL ..he doesn't have to. Now with "Splice" which gives you thousands of samples for a pittance, we should have everyhthing we need at our disposal...Huge props to SeamlessR....Love these videos!! What a joy and a gift ..Thanks SO MUCH!!!
Mr. Seamless thank you so much for taking the time to make these wonderful tutorials for the world to see. My search for the right tuts about FL Studio are finally over!
Last semester at college I took a Signals and Systems class. It's interesting that a lot of the same stuff applies to what SeamlessR is talking about, like the harmonic spectra and a Fourier sum of sine waves to give you any sound you want :)
OMG I was just looking for a quick tutorial on hamor bc I have no clue about it. But this is so much better than a 20 min video scratching the surface. Thank you so much!!!!
I've been producing for a year and three months. You've been involved in my productions the entire step of the way. I consider you my Sensei, thanks for this information. #basswizard
This is a very well thought out explanation of Additive Synthesis alongside a demonstration. I'll be recommending this to people I'm explaining different forms of synthesis to :)
OMG Seamless you are AWESOME. You should seriously include more Physics in your tutorials, this is sweeEeeeet for me as an artist and a scientist, love the tutorials and really hooked on the idea of knowing it all for total control of sound! Thank you SO much for being so meticulous! The only critique I would have is slow down when opening a new program or function, I have to rewind a lot because I'm a newbie and knowing where everything is in FL studio is really confusing!!!
You are the greatest teacher of edm production out there. I'm finally starting to understand this stuff and I'm starting to geek out almost as much as you!!!! Someday when my music gets big, it'll all be thanks to you, my dude! Keep up the awesome work!
I feel like I leveled up big time after getting a grip on Harmor. Between your videos and the manual I think I finally understand what all the knobs do and how to use it! Next I want to learn more about Morphine and it's approach to additive.
If you think key board tracking is cool what i'm about to tell you will blow your mind. Fruity envelope controller. It lets you link ANY THING using keyboard track along with an optional envelope to control the value exactly the way you want it and a lfo which you can use all at the same time along with 4 banks to use different settings. Imagine Keyboard track on keyboard tracking, sounds crazy, but i have used it to get some really crazy sounds. Fruity envelope controller is with only fl and works with slide notes, best vst plug in ever made.
"There are quite a lot of subtractive synthesizers often bragging about being 'virtual analogue'. This one is digital and proud to be. Everything is fake: the tone generator, the filter (and its resonance), the phaser; all performed on the harmonics before partials are computed."
I always wonder why people who make tutorials with high screen resolutions never actually ZOOM IN on what it is they are working on. It's really hard to see things.
lol.."i use words" ... that killed me, because the same thing happens to me...i learned to pace myself, now i collect my thoughts first before i .... "speech".
The LFO in harmor seems to be locked to bipolar function. There's an option to switch off bipolar tension, but I don't see an option to make it bipolar phase (I think that's what you'd call it). If there's no simpler way to achieve bipolar movement on the LFO, I found this workaround: Set your LFO editor knobs to these values: SPD: 0% TNS: 100% SKEW: 0% PW: 100% This essentially makes the grey LFO envelope disappear allowing you to draw your own envelope shape and turn it into an LFO by setting a loop start and end. Now you can just use a tempo locked grid to guide your LFO speed. You also keep your pitch envelope at your disposal, since you've practically created yourself an additional envelope. You could use the LFO like this elsewhere too. Hope this isn't common knowledge!
I'm glad I foud someone with knowledge and technique. I'm really trying to understand how all of this work but, most videos I find has some random douche saying stuff like "yo dis yo boi fo shizzle, turn this , click that and boom dis dope"
when i press any chords on the hamor tab there is no sound there is just silence help! other things like sakura are working so fl studio sound is not the problem....
17:35 he says about the phaser "the kind of calamity that can be created through the use of additive synthesis when its being created to mimic subtractive synthesis" just after saying the phaser was subtractive because it was just mimicing a phaser???
I'm not sure you're totally correct when comparing chord of sines with a filtered saw wave as saw wave has its harmonics' amplitude decreasing (in geometric progression I believe, like amplitude of n-th harmonic is 1/n), and when playing chord of sines you have each "harmonic" or note having the same volume unless you've programmed keytracking in synth or smth like that
I don't get it - aren't all sounds evantually made out of sine waves? If so, doesn't that mean that square waves, triangle waves etc. are basically made out of sine waves as well? So what's the different between just having a triangle wave or making it from sine waves if the regular triangle wave is made out of sine waves anyway? I also don't get why it matters if I made the sound out of sine waves, can't I achieve the same control of the sound with different filters anyway?
So you could turn a saw into a sine with only few harmonics with the filter and still be able to play high notes because it's based on what it's doing to the original input instead of the final result?
and how do you play a seperate sound through harmor? whenever i open another generator and try to play a sound harmor closes, i cant have both windows up at once for some reason. its really annoying because i need to be able to do that to use it to its potential. like how he was playing the oh yeah sound and the 3x osc, it was showing up in harmor.
Seamless have you realized that it is now FEBRUARY and you still have an ad for your EP saying that you can preorder now, and that's it's coming out November 11th? Dude.. that was like 4 months ago...
Hi Seamless, I was wondering: where did you learn all of this stuff about electronic music and synthesis? Did you do some kind of shool or are you self-educated? Cheers:)

Phil LaCoste YOU GOT A BONER
True, true. This is why seamless is the guy I go to when I want to know something new.
In depth is fine, but the unnecessary information is abundant.
***** where have you heard unnecessary information?
Must. ... Continue. .... Watching. .... FL. Tutorials...

your tutorials are like freaking books (for me and my knowledge) -- i can come back to it and get something new every time.
Mr. Seamless thank you so much for taking the time to make these wonderful tutorials for the world to see. My search for the right tuts about FL Studio are finally over!

Excellent video. You're really good at explaining the root of audio processes in layman's terms.
I like the way you explain additive synthesis, and making it not too complicated to understand . Subscribed !
TYVM I am going to watch the rest of your tutorials on Harmor and hopefully they are as straight forward and in depth as this one. Well Done!
OMG
I was just looking for a quick tutorial on hamor bc I have no clue about it. But this is so much better than a 20 min video scratching the surface. Thank you so much!!!!
Seamless is one of the coolest personalities i've seen so far. Thanks a lot for your tutorials and your awesome music. Keep it up please!
I've been producing for a year and three months. You've been involved in my productions the entire step of the way. I consider you my Sensei, thanks for this information. #basswizard
What about your senpai?

Oh yeah... that spectral action.
Got Harmor last week. I am pleased to have discovered this series. That is all. Thank you sir.
You probably SAW this joke coming
U probably saw ur mom comingggg ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
saboo lmao shut up
I SINE what you did there...
That was pretty good, excuse me if I could... bass my joke on yours.
Omg i never knew how to do it that way thank your seamlessR for the tutorial
Great tutorial as always! Looking forward to the next parts! Thank you Seamless!
Your love for Harmor is adorable. :)
So excited about this series!
You are the greatest teacher of edm production out there. I'm finally starting to understand this stuff and I'm starting to geek out almost as much as you!!!! Someday when my music gets big, it'll all be thanks to you, my dude! Keep up the awesome work!
OMG! Drawing pictures in harmonics! that's so dope! Thanks for this vid bro!
also I strongly advise reading the Help file, one cannot stress that enough how informative the help file actually is
Wow, forget New Years Eve... This stuff is infinitely more interesting. Why would you leave your house when you could learn about sound?
its what i did XD
I love a bit of spectral action in the evening!
What an unbelievable guy!
Thank you man, this was awesome
Thank you for making these videos Seamless
Seamless is the REAL FL Studio Guru
I feel like I leveled up big time after getting a grip on Harmor. Between your videos and the manual I think I finally understand what all the knobs do and how to use it! Next I want to learn more about Morphine and it's approach to additive.
This is a great tutorial. Thank you
thank you a lot for sharing what you know, you're a great example of how the internet can be a wonderful tool
great video, thanks for all of the information! I learned more in the last 20 minutes than I have in the past few weeks
Dude, thanks you for your tutorial. I've been looking for this way of explanation for freaking ages!
THE TUTORIAL WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR
wow you're great teacher. this was really fun to watch
Brilliant mate.
what a gorgeous synth!!!
I've been learning from your tutorials since day one. Thanks a bunch! Always looking forward to seeing more vid's.
Great job explaining everything, buddy!
"You are encouraged to begin at the beginning" My mans has life figured out
Just got round to watching all of this and you opened my eyes to how awesome Harmour is... that keyboard tracking!! :D
If you want you can ask me stuff about it too! I'm a subscriber of yours :)
masterflapdrol hahaha wow such flapdrol xD
shhh, I no longer do minecraft tough, but I still use this account for subscriptions :P
hahaha, jaja :P

thanks man for doing your videos. they are very helpful. you are a great teacher. if only there are some dudes like you in schools here
Great start of a tutorial series, ill finish em all ! ;D
I always wonder why people who make tutorials with high screen resolutions never actually ZOOM IN on what it is they are working on. It's really hard to see things.
Ctrl Scroll
Brilliant tutorial.
You made my life easier , thanks !
I think he needs to do a Q&A!
Thanks, man. This video helped a lot. Good shit.
Amazing tutorials man, keep it up
Fourier Analysis in action! Just got this plugin and from an engineering standpoint, its awesome to all that math in action
Dayum this is soo goooddd!! Thanks Seamless!
He got a degree in sound design.
Seamless you are like the yoda of fl studio
so it begins
eternal thanks
"If you know what is happening at the lowest levels of this engine and this synth the kind of power you have is crazy"

you just gave us the equivalent of Au5's Serum Masterclass for Harmor, and for 100 less dollars
props bro
at 17:29 it sounded like you were playing the sound in reverse.
I love this, thank you very much!

seamless seems like a pretty funny and cool guy
(pun not intended)
I'm glad I foud someone with knowledge and technique. I'm really trying to understand how all of this work but, most videos I find has some random douche saying stuff like "yo dis yo boi fo shizzle, turn this , click that and boom dis dope"

other things like sakura are working so fl studio sound is not the problem....
It's funny because I actually speed your videos up so I can learn stuff quicker.
nice tutorials!
it's so fun to mess with vocals in harmor xD
wow such a good tutorial! So so so goooood!
What is this love between you and that Oh Yeah sample...
Thank you sir.

He's been using it for like, 5 years
Just a keyword for you guys trying to understand the fundamentals of the sound: Fourier series.
So you could turn a saw into a sine with only few harmonics with the filter and still be able to play high notes because it's based on what it's doing to the original input instead of the final result?
I just had to cough at the exact same time as you in the beginning xD
It keeps him firm ;)
I learn so much shit from you man!!!
Massive is a wavetable synth with subtractive features.
and how do you play a seperate sound through harmor? whenever i open another generator and try to play a sound harmor closes, i cant have both windows up at once for some reason. its really annoying because i need to be able to do that to use it to its potential. like how he was playing the oh yeah sound and the 3x osc, it was showing up in harmor.
I dare you to have a double espresso and watch this mAn's tutorials at 2x breakneck speed
if you have to chose one among harmor or sytrus, which one will it be?
Nice choice of a vocal sample to use lol
Seamless have you realized that it is now FEBRUARY and you still have an ad for your EP saying that you can preorder now, and that's it's coming out November 11th? Dude.. that was like 4 months ago...
“Oh yeah” 😂
What does harmor do with different colors in an image?
Yes!
Hi Seamless, I was wondering: where did you learn all of this stuff about electronic music and synthesis? Did you do some kind of shool or are you self-educated?
Cheers:)
When we add harmless chords progression to beats patterns then it sound very terrible and goes wrong how to over come this problem for quality
great ! like u but i like do bass with sytrus + vocodex + glitch 2 ? ! do you have a try for glitch2 as a modulator?
