- Enjoy another FREE throwback DVD from the 1320Video collection, this one is from 2012 - Taking side bets to the next level, this Chicago area event became a legendary showdown of drivers battling it out for the KOTS crown and hands exchanging money faster than it can be counted back in the crowd. Chicago’s “KING of the Streets” event is a no-prep centric racing style that level the playing field as much possible, so that every racer is every bit as good as they claim…or not. Meanwhile, the starting line is full of energy, support, and criticism as bets are placed for and against racers every second up until they roll past the tree! Chicago’s KOTS is a high energy (and sometimes even high tension) event, but it’s all part of what makes the experience that pulled us back year after year!

Notice the beers In peoples hands and It’s Miller time on the tower. People from Wisconsin will tailgate any chance they get. I guarantee half these dudes had a brat a beer then raced. The few that spun well they had a few to many lmao
I love how some dudes pull up with just a simple truck and open trailer and then other dudes pull up with whole RV’s and semis with massive covered trailers lmao

There's just something about showing up with an open trailer and a handful of tools and still getting it done!
Don't get me wrong I would love an enclosed trailer and a nice hauler, but I've got less into my whole program than some guys have into their trailers and to me that's still something to be proud of haha
@@isaacfralish2147 Beating people that spend way too much money when you’re on a budget really is a great feeling, but honestly i would love to be where they’re at as well. Some of this stuff just gets ridiculous though 😂

@@Snakes709 I think it depends on the agreed upon rules, always cross in front of the other car you are out, but behind is sometimes okay. I have never seen someone win that way though.

@@Snakes709 the rule was "if you cross the lane behind the person, it's OK". They still argued about it afterwards, but the left lane won the $$ because the rule was told, with no objections from the right lane. Simple case of "you forgot the rules".
But I'd never agree to that rule. The last thing I want is the guy behind me in my own lane on the gas because he thinks he can still win. LOL
@@Sahadi420 I guess they figured if someone was in your lane ahead of you you'd have to let off lol. But either way, you're right.. I don't want somebody that's got their tires off the track trying to keep in it. Not with me in the other lane anyways lmao

I prefer to watch racing at a track, even if it's a "no prep street" race. It's infinitely safer for the drivers and I think that it's a better representation of how good the cars and drivers are. I do realize that there are a ton of other variables on the street or a more un-prepped surface, but I'm not interested in that. Maybe I'm just an old fart *shrug*
Street races are good but half the time you can only see headlights. This is better for watching and no breaks when the cops come.
It’s like most of the street outlaws shows they are on a lot of tracks but call them streets lol it’s safer by far.. In reality there are thousands of street not prep races every year a tracks. Street outlaw is one thing the no prep is what makes these races though. Shit there’s people that wil drag and prep a street before racing. They would do it on the show street outlaws all the time. I’ve been to that track when prepped and actually spun more than on the street. It just had terrible prep and is always just kinda bad in general but it’s the only dragstrip up in this area.
It’s crazy how little I know about cars, but how much I love watching these videos

With a Chevy Vega and a rat motor welded into the frame with no Graubart only running three years nitrous and liquid oxygen ran 154 miles an hour in Englishtown New Jersey after about 20 runs over the next couple of weekends back in the 80s they eventually banned the vehicle from the track this thing was so dangerous it took me years to come to terms with them just banning us know rollbar basic seatbelt I can’t tell you how many other things were possibly wrong with it 20 gallon gas tank and it was just amazing we ran that kind of number

When we raced 45 years ago, we didn’t do it for money. We did it for fun and maybe a trophy and bragging rights.

Jokes aside, make abit of noise in our little country and surely there is someone in the direct surroundings complaining about noise pollution the next bloody day. Racing circuits like Zandvoort and Assen have protest groups, people complain about the F-16 and F-35 and there are even groups who DEMAND the closure of all major airfields like Schiphol. We are too small for dragstrips.
But hey, atleast we have good and cheap healthcare and the best infrastructure of the world. ಠ ͜ʖ ಠ
