Kylo Ren was the most interesting character for me from the sequel trilogy. I will forever be disappointed that he died instead of living to rectify his mistakes. Like I would much rather watch movies about a Jedi Master who murdered his own dad, became an emperor at age 30, and turned back from evil training a bunch of kids to try to repair the harm he brought to the galaxy. But some goody two shoes who never really faced significant temptation or much of any lasting challenge as the next generation of hope in the galaxy does nothing for me
Dying due to being poorly written into a corner instead of actually being able to live and work towards redemption is a common trait for the Solo children. Happened to Jacen in the old EU books as well.
The irony that the sequels were supposed to be about "legacy" and yet they just resolved the sequel characters without leaving them anything to think about. Would have been far better to have Ben in exile, trying to make amends
29:02 it’s because when Anakin became Vader, he was Vader in Anakin’s body until when got caught on fire. That is when Anakin died. Then when Anakin redeemed himself, he died as Anakin in Vader’s body, that is why he went back to the most resemblance of Anakin
i always thought anakins ghost was young because that's when he was last connected to the light side. i don't think when he killed Palpatine it was for the light side but out of love for luke.
Obi-Wan: “Sith are our specialty” Yeah, he only defeated one, but to his credit, no other Jedi has fought a Sith in like a thousand years, so he’s the outlier.
True. (Also I am obligated to point out that the three other people in the room when he says that are a Sith Lord, a secret Sith Lord, and a future Sith Lord.)
Yeah um, at this point Obi-Wan has fought Maul, Dooku, Ventress, Savage Opress, and a couple of jedi traitors. I know most of those aren’t official Sith but he’s fought brought lightsaber-force users and has had enough encounters with the dark side to say he and anakin are probably the most qualified to fight Sith in the entire order. Plus probably Ahsoka and arguably Mace Windu
Rey claiming heritage as a Skywalker is very poetic because it means the series ends the same way it began: with a woman romantically kissing a male relative.

Actually Padme and Anakin’s age gap is like 5 years Seamus. And you know what it’s actually not that weird. Like in AOTC he’s 19 and she’s 24 I think the reason people make their relationship to be so weird is that in this case the women is older than the man and two they meet when their both minors. But like as someone who watches too many shows about relationships I’ve seen weirder age gaps like of 10 or even 12 years so Anakin and Padme’s 5 is actually acceptable.

In terms of “Ben getting beat by someone who hasn’t ever held a lightsaber before,” she’s been a scavenger with a staff all of her life. She’s definitely had some training on sword-like combat growing up on a planet with aliens and probably animals trying to kill her. It’s not a shock she won the fight in TFA, especially considering Ben was shot with Chewie’s bowcaster, a gun that was shown earlier in the movie to blow a normal stormtrooper off of his feet.
To answer your question from the Solo section. Chewie's homeworld, Kashyyyk, is where we see him last canonically in Revenge Of The Sith, which is taken over by the Empire who forces all the wookies into slavery. We can assume at some point later that he was transfered to where we see him in Solo.
My theory for why Anakin was young as a force ghost, is that they end up as force ghosts for when they, as a Jedi, die. He died as a Jedi the moment he turned into Vader.
Nice theory but the reason why it ended up like that is because when they changed it in the 90s they changed it from the original original he was old in the original original

How about you do this for Pirates of Caribbean or Indiana Jones? Those are both Disney-related series and a good day’s worth of content. (Coincidentally, they’re also series I keep meaning to rewatch)
I think the prequels' biggest flaw was that they tried too hard to be 'Star Wars.' They tell the story of a corrupt political system and the collapse of an order of monks who became so self-interested that they tried to assert their influence over that political system. They needed to commit to that story to be successful. They wouldn't've been more popular, but they would've told the story that needed to be told.
They tried to do too much and Lucas, quite simply, wasn’t up to the task. He is a master at world building and at setting up characters, but he can’t handle the complexities the plots of the prequels required. He needed someone else to handle the directing duties for the prequel movies and someone else to do a couple additional drafts of each script, both would have done wonders to the movies. There are a lot of good ideas in the prequel trilogy, but they’re buried under the weight of a myriad of minor and major storytelling issues.
When I watched Rise of Skywalker in theaters I with my best friend. He was on one side and a random lady on my other side. When Ben’s hand suddenly came out of the ravine the lady next to me jumped and I found it extremely funny. So at the most serious part of the movie where the theater was silent I was doing my best not to laugh but I was laughing so hard I was crying. Then my friend leaned over and asked why I was laughing because Ray just died and it wasn't funny which made me laugh even more. Also, am I the only one who thinks Chewy should have died in the one scene? It would have rounded out the let's kill off all the original characters story.
What’s your favourite reaction channel? Me: It’s, complicated.... (edit: omg seamus liked my comment, imma fan-girling so hard right now, i love your content so much man)
29:10 I think it kind of makes sense because back when he was that age he was still a Jedi and even though he returned to the light side at the end he uh didn’t look great then either, so they probably just wanted to show his force ghost as back when he still looked good too and because we don’t really know anyways what he would’ve looked like otherwise if the end of revenge of sith hadn’t happened.
I recently rewatched the prequels and the originals together (Which I've never done before) and I watched them in chronological order, and due to my taste in star wars movies, in begins at my least favorite one, and ends at my favorite one

They still market Grogu toys under the "The Child" moniker, despite the fact that almost everyone knows his name now.
It would’ve been so cool if Vader wasn’t in the trailers and the posters, and the first time we see him is at the end.
Seamus should watch pirates of the Caribbean next, I watched all 5 back to back a couple weeks ago and it’s really fun
I think I saw my reflection in Seamus when he reacted to seeing Vader in Rogue One 😂
Your videos are so great, Seamus!!!
(edit: omg seamus liked my comment, imma fan-girling so hard right now, i love your content so much man)
just realised that editing the comment removes the heart :/
29:10 I think it kind of makes sense because back when he was that age he was still a Jedi and even though he returned to the light side at the end he uh didn’t look great then either, so they probably just wanted to show his force ghost as back when he still looked good too and because we don’t really know anyways what he would’ve looked like otherwise if the end of revenge of sith hadn’t happened.
I recently rewatched the prequels and the originals together (Which I've never done before) and I watched them in chronological order, and due to my taste in star wars movies, in begins at my least favorite one, and ends at my favorite one
