Ottoman Empire Series Rise and Fall - Sultan Orhan - Part 2

- The Ottoman Empire simultaneously put fear and awe into Europe. An Empire that lasted for over 600 years with a military machine that made other armies tremble for much of its history.
This series will cover the Rise and Fall of the Ottoman Empire, starting with its founder Osman I. His life shrouded in a combination of myth and few contemporary facts. We do know he lead his tribe and expanded their territory to include parts of the Byzantine Roman Empire. This is his story...and the story of the empire he founded.
In this part 2 we look at the Sultan Orhan and his rise after his father Osman's death. He would battle with the Byzantine Empire and drive them from the asian side of the divide. In the process he would lay the foundation for the Ottoman Empire.

A sibling and sibling both in power getting along is rarer then a good video on UA-cam like yours
Hehe thanks. But ya agreed...although *Bleep* will hit the proverbial fan with later Sultan brothers hehe.
@@YoreHistory that's definitely an understatement, they turn killing brothers into a sport.
@@UnknownSend3r when power comes brother doesnt importhant civil war its just something they need to do for power :0
oh man I can't get enough of history 👍👍👍👍
Hehe I know what you mean...me either :) Thanks for watching!
Thank you for giving his story justice. Unfortunately many demonize the ottomans because of the bad things the empire did at its fall
Thanks. Which is kind of funny considering you can pretty much pick any region and pick a time when its people did bad things...but the point of history to me is BOTH the good and bad...if it was all good zzzzzzzzzzz and if it was all bad it would be depressing. it belongs to all of us and we should treat it objectively and learn from it but hey that's just me maybe.
The Ottoman epic continues! Love this series man, thanks!
Cheers and thanks Cy!

A great deal of details in such short video proves that a great documentary is ahead. Regardless, vezir or wuzir/wuzurg is ancient Pahlavi for major, means regent

As a Türk greetings from Antalya 🇹🇷👋🏻
My wife and I travelled all across the Mediterranean and ended our trip in Istanbul. It was easily the most beautiful of the cities we saw.
When are we having the next episode please ? :)
After the next Sassanid and Yore History as XX videos... 2 to 3 weeks.
Please start making videos again 🙏🏻
The good news is I haven't disabled the channel and wont ever...I do want to finish just haven't had the ability or when I do the desire given other challenges. Hopefully at some point !
Making videos again :)
@@YoreHistory
Just saw your comment and I’m about to catch up on your new work!
@@elliottprats1910 haka awesome. Sorry for the LATE reply. Yes working on videos again th is time for foreseeable future. Thanks for giving it another go!
Love to see the history of Mughal Empire
I will for sure in the future. I have already done the founding of the Mughal Empire under Babur but deserves a more in depth look!
MAN OSMAM GAZI AND HIS SON ORHAN WERE REALLY GOOD PEOPLE TYPE OF RULERS WHO WOULD GIVE THE SHIRTS OF THEIR BACK TO THEIR PEOPLE BOTH CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS ❤
please tell that at the video of osman 1, you showed osman conquered so much, but why did you shortened it at the beginning of this video??
Was just wondering why u guys deleted the sassanian empire vid that was uploaded today
Its just me but had to as first upload had error. Its back now with a working version :) Apologies
9:21 "With Philadelphia surrounded" 😂😂😂 love the Video tho, at least pronouncing my name rightish
Thanks :) As for the other, I spoke of the town being surrounded by Beyliks...not by the troops. The troops I show are surrounding Nicomedia. I mention Philadelphia as it was the last Byzantine city remaining but landlocked :) It had no impact on the story of Orhan so I didn't show it.
@Kayser-I Dodo You know there was a city name called philadelphia at the western anatolia back then right?
Where is part 3/4 etc thx
Not made yet. I have only so much time and was able to do more when I was laid off from Covid...just got a new job a week ago so may be a few more weeks before I can start up again.
Wonder how they would have time to fight between themselves in the mid 1350s in the middle of the Plague - the Black Death.
Can't wait for the British sailor
Will have it up over the next week or two!
When is part 3?
Right after the next two Life as an XX episodes as i had done none of those since September. Expect to see it before the end of December.
Dude fuck yes
Great stuff
Perfect timing
History repeats
Re-peats
Heh
Turkish subtitle pls
I would love to but don't know anyone who could. I am the only person working on these currently. But I hope to in the future.
4:30 you said 1321 but he took the throne in 1324 and conquered Bursa in 1326
How do you make your maps
I start with a satellite map...clean the water out and coastlines in Photoshop...then add the layers of political boundaries and shading etc.
Then I bring it in to Adobe After Effects for the animation.
@@YoreHistory Thanks
I try something similar to this but your way sounds better.
@@al-muwaffaq341 Every video I force myself to learn a little bit more...originally I just used Premiere Pro and basic PHotoshop since learning After Effects its made things much easier even if it was difficult to learn at first. Keep at it and let me know how you make out!
@@YoreHistory Thanks for replying!
@@al-muwaffaq341 If you ever have questions just ask happy to assist :)
Too soon......
Never forget Constantinople
it will be never forgotten becouse we keep it very well in takt.
14:32 That is not Castle of Çimpe/Τζύμπη as it writes on the map. It's Rodosçuk (modern day Tekirdağ). Çimpe is 100 km south of there near Gallipoli. And again i must say, it makes feel too bizarre when you mispronounce those Turkish names like Çanakkale. It's like "ch" in cheese or cheers, not like "c" in car or cable. With all due respect, that would be great if you somehow work on Turkish pronunciation before you start making videos.
with all due respect as a turk i have to disagree with this person and i hope you don't take this as a norm for turks and their reactions to your videos.
@@aloevera7835 I did not say a bad thing friend. It is simple criticism. I enjoyed the video as a whole but there were some points i need to make clear. Gosh everybody are fuckin' salty these days.
@@denizergun6325 you are the pillar of salt fam sorry but a non native speaker not pronouncing turkish right is a normal thing not event turks speak turkish well ffs
@@aloevera7835 I did not say anything contradicting with your point. You should really learn to understand what you read.
The ottomans? Ah you mean that barbarian Islamic horde that destroyed the eastern Roman empire and many other Christian states in the Balkan.
Islamic yes Barbaric no. They were a lot more tolerant towards others than any European state at the time and for a very long time to come. I also wouldn't use the word destroyed, rather conquered and incorporated.
It's history...it's not present day. We should be able to analyze it with an open mind. I am Dutch/German and we know the history of Germany doesn't mean all the history was bad. Same with the Ottomans they developed technology that made cars that we know today possible ie...crankshafts/rack and pinion and a whole bunch more.
They were no less or more "bad" than European powers. Take my Dutch side for example...the Dutch West India company made most of its money in the trans atlantic slave trade.
History is history and it belongs to all of us to learn from so that past lessons are not repeated. Besides the Eastern Roman Empire and Balkan states weren't angels either :) That doesn't mean they are bad. It is why I love all history.
Don't get salty Misterman otherwise you end up like Carthage ;)
@@TheMugenVideos I wonder if that could be where the term ”salty” originated from
Barbaric? Hmm? Actually, they were rather progressive for their time. Tolerant if not supportive of other religions and cultures o the point where most of their administration and advisors were of those conquered groups and not Turkish save for the sultan and his sons...who were actually only half Turk because the mother's were from harems which consisted of women from annexed lands... Sort of a melting pot of sorts. As far as violence, terror, etc...nothing that all the powers of that time didn't engage in. Just saying
I love your way of storytelling
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoy! More to come. Looks like a duplicate as I recognized your name but either way i said something different in more to come hehe.
