Great video, thank you!!! I got a telescope very recently and the Pleiades are one of the first things I shot and had no idea they had such an interesting story!!
Your videos are sooo creative and so you are so underrated , that thumbnail was top notch bro, you are gonna rock in the community, your videos stand out alot in the community, keep going❤
Being an amateur astrophotographer myself I just stumbled upon your channel and let me tell, you gained a new sub. Saw a bunch of videos already and they're AMAZING, from sheer direction quality to narration and info inside, they have it all. Hope to see you explode anytime, really! (ps: I still can't take a really good pic of the Pleiades personally, they look so mild but in reality they're so hard to get right)
That photo with the 55mm is fantastic. I love the nebulocity of the dust clouds. I miss that with my Redcat51 and zwo533. Well it is Christmas and I can hear a canon rf50 calling.
I was surprised at how well that inexpensive 55-200 lens performed. It had plenty of issues for astro that required extra care during post processing but the end result was way better than expected!
i do not particularly know anything about this stuff, but i dont know why but i watched few of your videos and although im not specially interested at the content the videos were good and had such joyful energy, thanks for the good content keep it up your underrated fr
Dude, I've only been recommended a couple so far, but you make really cool videos and I love your explanations of not just the subjects of the photos but also the methodology behind your photography. Very cool channel! +sub
It's always interesting to learn about history and realize that humanity changed in lot of ways but also remains same in others. Thousands of years later, we're still fascinated by the night sky just as much! ✨
Thank you so much! Mostly for the history part. Visited the Nebra musuem just last year. Pictures are fascinating nevertheless. Let's please keep our night sky. Let's not lose contact.
i took a picture with my phone on 20 oct 2024,it had a exposure of 30 second, something came in that photo,it was quiet circular,it was North East,21:32 IST,i cannot share you exact cordinates on comments, can you tell what was it
Hey Ian, I’ve learned so much from you. I’ve always loved Astrophotography and my Seestar purchase 4 months ago finally made getting into astrophotography easy! I’m now ready to build my first rig and move to the next steps. I watched your video about getting started and how important investing in a mount is. So I’m going to get the mount first! I’m looking into the sky adventurer GTI. I also have an DSLR already. I have the Fujifilm XT-3. I discovered your channel through your fujifilm Astro video. My question for you is the scope. Do you think the Askar 71F would be a good investment? Do you think I should consider another brand, like the red cat 51, like you have? I’d like to keep the scope under 1K and I was just curious which scope do you think is the best bang for your buck.
The Askar is good as long as your setup weight is under the weight capacity of the GTI mount. I like the redcat because it has a wide field of view and is easy to start with, but it’s up to you because both scopes are great.
Beautiful and informative video. I am about to begin my Astro journey with Pleiades.....with 416mm telescope! just like you showed. how was that image captured? were there filters, etc...? or just plain camera with a telescope!
Humans have always had a fascination with the sky! It’s the origin of our ability to understand our passage of time - and it seems like our love of space is ingrained in our DNA from thousands of years of observing the sky :D
@ it’s crazy that even though we’re a species that use money and have established an economy we still kept our fascination of the night sky and nothing has changed that. No matter how engrossed we get with power and money.
Wondering if you cropped the second image? I recall the last time I took ka photo of the Pleiades with my 70mm lens and it seemed to be far more zoomed out.
I am so upset that my love for astrophotos is hindered by my country like maybe 5 decent nights a year in the netherlands and still a lot of light pollution one day i will just stay in a darkzone camping for a week with a camper and lots of cool gear
Great video, thank you!!! I got a telescope very recently and the Pleiades are one of the first things I shot and had no idea they had such an interesting story!!
That’s awesome, wishing you many more great images and good weather 🤙
Fantastic video. Loved all the historical information along with the photos. Please keep it up! 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! 🙏

What bortle were you in for this? Also big fan of the APSC for astro. Makes me not second guess my purchase of a sony APSC haha.
Bortle 2. APS-C is great for deep space, love that tighter FOV.
dude that’s so cool! i have the xt-5 and now i want to start with astrophotography!!
i do not particularly know anything about this stuff, but i dont know why but i watched few of your videos and although im not specially interested at the content the videos were good and had such joyful energy, thanks for the good content keep it up your underrated fr

My favorite to photograph - love the blue.

I love how astronomy connects us to the past and future at the same time. It’s so powerful!!
Excellent explanation; enjoy watching your videos
I’m so glad you found the explanation helpful!

That’s so cool you got to visit the Nebra museum! Thanks for the view, glad you enjoyed the video
Awesome video bro! 👍👍
Thanks for watching! 🤙
underrated.
Cheers 🍻
When I was a kid, I always thought the Pleiades was the Little Dipper 😅
Same!!
We call it, the rosary
Very cool!
Thank you so much for those super interesting fascinating video!
Nice, subscribed 👍
Welcome aboard!
I’ve heard it mistakenly called the Little Dipper many times.
I definitely thought it was the Little Dipper when I was a kid!
My older brother thought that is what it was and it has become an inside joke since.

@ don’t lie, you just like the redcat because of the cat logos hahaha. Thanks for your input though. Clear skies.
great video

Beautiful and informative video. I am about to begin my Astro journey with Pleiades.....with 416mm telescope! just like you showed. how was that image captured? were there filters, etc...? or just plain camera with a telescope!
It was a total of about 40 hours of total exposure time. Multiple photos stacked together while using a dedicated deep space camera
Amazing video friend! Very informative! What's the piece of music used at the start?
Are these stories of the stars and the night sky where we got our curiosity for the night sky from now cus wow it’s so fascinating

Care to share the integration times of each picture?
Wondering if you cropped the second image? I recall the last time I took ka photo of the Pleiades with my 70mm lens and it seemed to be far more zoomed out.
All the shots (except the last one) were with a crop sensor
@ianlauerastro ah that makes sense, thanks! I have a full frame so that explains it.

How's your 1 month exposure stack coming along?
4:54 Man, very good video but that part of the Earth's horizon spinning makes me very dizzy lol 🤢
Star tracker are SO EXPENSIVE
6:35
can you make super zoom video
I don't expect a recent video to go viral.
Pliedes
I hate that star cluster.
It should be destroyed
erm
