  • An affordable option for outdoor shelter! My first time setting it up, not bad, but I need more practice. I should have run the guy lines outside of the tent instead of inside. Thanks for watching and feel free to give me any tips or tricks with this tent. While this is certainly not a tent for a bug out bag due to its weight and size, this can work for car camping or as an emergency shelter to put in your car!

Great bit of kit, I love anything military as you know it will last . In the UK we get the Dutch army ridge tents fairly cheap . Same kind of kit in size and weight but more aesthetically pleasing I think especially in DPM camo. Great vid bud.

I will have to look into that one, I may be able to pick up that tent out here. Eventually I want to put in a stove jack for my ammo can stove in this one.. but if you say the Dutch one is lighter, it might even be better. Thanks!

I love my shelter half, generally use it only in cold weather though. Keeping it up off the ground like that allows better ventilation during summer months. A lot of times I just take one half of it and run a usgi poncho along the front of it as a awning then at night I lower it to keep in the warmth OR I've run clear plastic along the front to turn it into a super tarp shelter.

thanks good to know, I figured I was supposed to not have any space between the tent and ground. It was amazingly hot out there while doing this (106 degrees) so that would be much needed if I was using it in this heat.

It looks like you’re in Palmdale Ca, are you talking about the surplus store that used to be on Palmdale Blvd?

Thats a nice tent! I found one at a yard sale, but it was in bad shape! That would be perfect to leave in your vehicle! Thanks for sharing George!

Yeah, It will most likely live in the vehicle, it sure beats a tarp! Thanks :)
