Back in the '70s when i did this I drove the Etnyre "K" box in 3rd gear meaning I'd wait a minute behind the distributor after the joint paper got pulled off. When I mention this in the UA-cam threads the inspectors (I'm Assuming) seem to think think that's heresy! But you get a better coverage with the gate open more and I'm still finishing right after the distributor including switching out half dozen six yard trucks. But all these videos have the box poking along in 2nd gear crowding the distributor. I know damned well that with most rock the coverage is going to be more spotty with little quarter inch holidays throughout whereas a third gear run is just more uniform.
