      What does 50-50 mean

    • @augustooliveira5588
      @augustooliveira5588 3 місяці тому +30

      @@randdomize858 50 homeruns and 50 stolen bases in a single season. Its such a hard to achieve feat because usually the players that are great at stealing bases arent strong enough to consistently hit so many homeruns and the ones that do hit Homeruns consistently are usually too slow to constantly steal bases. Just to give you an idea of how hard this is, only six players in history managed to get 40-40 and the second place in the list was 42-42........ Shohei finished the season with 54-59

    • @randdomize858

      @@augustooliveira5588 ah ok I thought it was homeruns but wasn't sure what the other stat was. Thank you very cool.

      @@augustooliveira5588 Yeah the last time there was a jump this large (+12, 42-42->54-54) was Ken Williams in 1922, with 39 home runs and 37 stolen bases. I can't find clear stats of what the best HR/SB season was before 1922 but it seems like getting more than 25 homers was very unusual back then, so it's quite likely that no one who was a slugger even tried to steal bases back then.

    I'm sure there are millions of people around the world who began, or re-kindled their interest in baseball because of this incredible, humble athlete. Difference in mentality between America and Japan.
    Japanese culture places the group above the individual, personal sacrifice for the betterment of the group is valued far higher than personal achievements.
    He'll get his money anyway, until then he can assure that his team can perform at their best.
    American star players can learn a lot from that.

    Ohtani probably used that notebook with his father, but I think people are missing a huge fact that he uses the Harada method, which is used for self improvement and leadership. If you google "Shohei Ohtani Harada Method" you will see a huge chart with all his goals. I think Ohtani's high school coach is pretty smart; he coaches at a small school in Japan that produced Shohei Ohtani, Yusei Kikuchi, and his son who's the number one high school player in Japan that set the high school home run record will be playing at Stanford.

I hope that all of this is genuine.. He may change athletes demeanor going forward which I think would be a good thing..IMO

      Adachi Character no one has played until MLB.
      There are characters who play Up to the league In US, but Aaa not MLB.
      If you want to equate,, The closest is Goro shigeno from anime/manga major
      Dual player (pitcher who can hit).
      Play on MLB as pro player.
      But ohtani is greater.
      This is the first time we have trouble finding a fictional anime character that is better or equal than a real character.

    Imagine if the baseball traditionalists had gotten ahold of him.. it actually pisses me off to think what MLB wouldve done to him if he went straight to the US

      I hadn't really thought of that. I'm glad it all played out the way it did for sure. Curious how many other talents have been stifled because of the specialization mindset. Thanks for watching!

    Deferred contract , also was smart as it will avoid most of California’s ridiculous income tax , as he likely would not reside in CA at end of contract. Because of this , CA State was bitter & likely prompted the gambling charges 🤔🤷‍♂️

    Just came to say UCL and Tommy John's is not "worst case" scenario for a pitcher, certainly not good but not the worst lol. Look into the crazy spiral fracture of the upper arm bone (humerus I think) , there haven't been many. I'd say that is probably the worst case scenario for a pitcher.

    • @DugoutChronicles
      @DugoutChronicles  6 місяців тому

      You are probably right, "worst case" is career ending or worse. The spiral fracture injury looks a lot like Tony Saunders injury, which was awful. Appreciate the feedback and really appreciate you watching!
