He was also on small allowance as his mother managed his money, yet he still managed to save tons of money for his very little spending -No one has heard him dating anyone, but he got plenty love letters from school mates in high school. He never dated any girls as he was too involved with baseball, yet he and his friends got together and read those letters 😂❤ - His high school coach taught the team to pick up trash as trashes are luck other people threw away. Ohtani still picks up trash to this day -His coach from the Fighters was asked what impressed him the most about Ohtani. The Interviewer was probably asking about his ability as a pitcher or a hitter, but his answer was, “His personality” He said he had never seen a human being who was as perfect as Ohtani as he is super polite, respectful and humble. I Liked Baseball since my Uncle Joe brought to me and my brother a glove a bat and a ball in the early 60’s from New York. Then I learned how to Love Baseball while I lived in Japan for 5 years watching it every single night so many great players like Shigeo Nagashima; Sadahara Oh etc. etc. I must confessed that I do not watch the regular season MLB games but has never lost a single game of the World Series for many years. I must admit that I have never heard about this Champion of Champions (Shoei Otani ) until last week when he hit a huge home run! It is such a treat to be able to watch a super talented athlete like Ohtani perform. His performance so far in 2024 is starting to make his $700M contract look like a bargain for the Dodgers.
The argument of him playing in Japan instead of MLB out of the chute is valid. He went through a few years of being in VERY bright lights. He was beyond a superstar at a young age. Baseball in Japan is different. So he was ready for anything MLB could throw at him.

Until last year, Ohtani had excellent results even though he basically didn't do any batting training, so I'm looking forward to this season.

And in his first season with the Dodgers, Ohtani starts the 50/50 club with 54 HRs and 59 SBs in a one-of-a-kind season and finishing 2nd in the batting title trailing Luis Arraez just shy of a Triple Crown. Hoping that Ohtani do wonders for the Dodgers in his 1st career postseason. Given that the Dodgers always win the regular season as the best record but fading in the postseason. If he leads them to a WS title, it will be very special.

It is such a treat to be able to watch a super talented athlete like Ohtani perform.
His performance so far in 2024 is starting to make his $700M contract look like a bargain for the Dodgers.
The argument of him playing in Japan instead of MLB out of the chute is valid. He went through a few years of being in VERY bright lights. He was beyond a superstar at a young age. Baseball in Japan is different. So he was ready for anything MLB could throw at him.
