Great episode! I often wondered how auction catalog descriptions are put together. Thanks for providing this inside look. Looking forward to Part 2.

For a collector, this video provided a really great explanation on how auction lotters identify and describe them for bidders. Great podcast - thank you.

Great episode guys! If either of you have spent any time on Facebook groups, there's a lot of people who come into collections and are just looking to sell, but think their collection is worth a lot of money. An episode from you guys explaining what makes a stamp rare and valuable and how you determine it's value would be very useful as it's coming from a pair of professionals on the selling end of the hobby. Just a suggestion. Keep up the great work!

This work is really fascinating by its complexity. Very good episode! I learned a lot from you for an aspect of philately that I had no idea of pre-pastal card existence.

Very practical tutorial, well done. I’m looking for a SC 137 so that hooked me right away! I’ve always wondered when to break a collection into single stamps, looking forward to that for sure! 👍

Well done! Interesting and informative! With a few good illustrations also! Conversations with American Philatelists: miss some European stamps but maybe that's just me!

Thanks for showing us how lot descriptions are done. It was very interesting. It seems to me that US philatelic items are well catalogued and documented, even for specialized postal stationary. I wonder how you do this for collecting areas and countries where there is much less documentation.

Thanks for sharing these deep insights ! I wish German catalogue values were as close to real market prices as in your philatelic areas.

Great episode! A couple of questions: Was listing the SMQ price as $650 just a mistake? Is there a reason you didn't use $700? And you refer to items as "fresh" is there any specific definition for that? Thank you for an informative session!

on the pre-cancel card would be nice to find the 6 additional items it states...how if possible would that be?

I just saw this on Feb 8 2022 and since it was uploaded on Sep 27, 2021 have any of the lost sold? I would also be interested in foreign Israel pre 1948 or the first regular or air mail issues or Palestine
