Did you gain better gas mileage
Sooooo that’s $400+ for a filter, hose & air box top?? That’s the cost of the ECU recalibration tuner... save yourself $400 and just drop in a K&N or similar filter product
You gotta pay to play!
Is the k&n better just as good or worse then the roush intake?
They also got a CARB EO # for it so it is CA legal. That is a big chunk of change to bribe, er... get CA blessing for road use.
I honestly don’t think the driver would even notice the difference between stock, K&N stand alone filter & Roush CAI .. dyno results I’ve witnessed don’t show anything significant. I had my Ranger modded at Mountune, everything from the ecu, down pipe, intercooler, catback exhaust … so I’ve spent a bit more than $400 … 🤣🤣🤣
@@CJBroncoF150 🤣🤣🤣 facts … I have all the Mountune Ranger performance upgrades now
What’d you do with the coolant line that you took off the back of the factory tube?
Pretty cool, you spent a stupid amount of cash to buy something that lets way more dirt in with no gain whatsoever. Good job! Plus Ranger already has a great setup.
Aren’t all intakes “cold air”? They all pick up air from outside the vehicle.
basically just allows more air with less restriction
A cold-air intake system has a hose you connect to the a/c system. Hence, cold-air
Very nice setup I'll be doing that to mine can't wait
Honestly it looks like it’s worth about $60... looked at the reviews and many people complain about the angle pipe collapsing under acceleration.. dang
so everyone is going to ignore the fact that the line that got unclipped has no place to be clipped in to the new inlet hose.
@CJOffRoad, what about that coolant tube that was attached to the original parts? We unclip it using the removal tool, but there's no instructions for re-attaching it. Do we just leave it hanging loose or should we zip tie it back to the new parts?
BTW, your video was excellent- way more clear than the printed instructions, thank you for that.
WHERE DOES THAT HOSE THAT I UNCLIPPED OFF THE BACK GO?????? IS IT JUST HANGING THERE SOMEWHERE? WHY DOESN’T SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS IN THE THOUSAND VIDEOS OF THIS SYSTEM??
The roush duct doesn’t have the tab with the clip hole on it so yes it hangs there unless you buy another hose clamp place it around the mid point of the duct and zip tie the loose hose to it.
I just dropped one in a few days ago...performance has improved substantially, but I wish it provided the growl that a Green Filter did with the Focus...either way, this is a fine product...
Great to hear, thanks for watching!
How did it substantially improve performance? They claim it only adds 8lbs of torque which I doubt.
@@stevenparman6761 Better throttle response...the factory airbox was making the truck feel 'choked'...this went away with the new intake. I added Flowmaster FX exhaust a few months ago which has helped even more. I'm toying with the idea of removing the lexan panel from the intake for even more airflow :)
Did you install just the intake or did you get the tuner with the stage 1 kit?
@@killerdeviant Just the intake...
Would like to see you guys install a down pipe on one
Thanks for the idea!
Will a roush tune along with this intake void factory warranty?
Per the 4 Ford dealers I've called, unless it's a Ford Performance tune installed by Ford, any tune will void the warranty on more or less the entire powertrain.
Yeah their is noway I'm paying 399.00 for just a top lid and a air filter
Two questions,
1.) Does it void the factory warranty?
2.) Is there any sound improvement? the engine is pretty quiet.
Have one it's not that great if they were going for $200 I would say buy it but the gains are not worth the price
Better filtrating material and a rigid tube, the true gains. Open intakes are bullshit...
What was the tune you were talking about that adds an additional 50lb ft of torque?
What exhaust would best go with this?
will that air filter void ford warranty?
Does this void the factory warranty?
Mind sharing where you got the blackout Ford emblem for your grill in this video? or was it a DIY?
Will this affect the smog
Will you guys have a sale on this guy? It’s really expensive for what it is.
