Wind up buying the Borla dual black tip exhaust , much better sound than the FX muffler and almost no cabin noise what so ever , Borla was the way to go
I added the borla dual black chrome exhaust. Sounds awesome, not noisy at cruising speeds. Construction and finish are top notch. Very happy with this purchase. Even get compliments at the dealerships.
I'm torn between the AWE and Borla for my 21 Tremor. I had Borla S-Type on my last F-150 and MBRP on the one before, both had the 2.7. One had terrible Drone and the other was the Borla. So I'm worried about Drone, anyone have AWE and noticed anything? If you think that 6 or 8 cylinders are necessary for good sound, you aren't a true petrolhead. A true petrolhead finds appreciation no matter the cylinders or fuel type. I've had single, parallel twin, multiple triples, 4, 6, and 8. All had their great points. My 1L Fiesta had awesome Turbo boost and great engine vocals on its own. Bottom line is, exhaust is highly personal and if you like the sound of a 4, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
The MBRP CatBack gets no justice in this video. I have that kit on a 22 Tremor Ranger and it is so smooth. Then you get on it and it roars to life. Then you cruise and hardly here it. It is a great combo if you don't want to sound like an asshole all the time.
Hey man I picked it because of this video of watching countless low quality videos with ambient noise. What do you think this video is high-quality or not? It’s one of the best ones out there, but I could find in two days of researching what the MDRP actually sounds like.
Yeap that’s the one for me and it comes with black tail pipes. The only chrome on my 2021 sport 4x4 is the ford emblem front and rear and those emblems days are numbered. Price is right too. The only problem is that it’s not true stainless steel like some others but I’m in TN so no worries. I want my truck to sound tough without waking up my neighbors.

L opinion , you have no taste in exhaust, Borla is the deepest sounding exhaust for an eco boost motor. And the rest of the exhaust options except for AWE sound like stock or even worse.

idk about trucks but in the powersports game MBRP sucks big time. Their silencers for snowmobiles actually lose 2-3 hp or more yet they claim big gains.
The best exhaust is the stock exhaust. I didn’t spend a $1,000 dollars for more noise and it doesn’t sound like a Subaru. If I wanted sound I would of purchased a Shelby.
sadly all the aftermarket exhaust systems for this vehicle sound like shit, extra performance is all you may get but don't forget, what you change after the engine you have to make adjustment before and vice versa. so if you go for the bigger diameter down pipe and exhaust, you have to change to bigger injectors or you'll lean out the engine and burn out the rings
HELLO It's a 4 banger ! Why would anybody waste money on an exhaust system for a 4 banger ? It's never gonna sound great no matter what you do and no matter what promises the seller makes it's not going to improve performance or MPG either. How silly.
Because, if you're like me, that little 4 banger is more than enough, and while you may/may not think it sounds great or able to make sound great, it can still sound BETTER. I love my Ford F$&#in' Ranger. I went into the market looking for a quality mid-sized truck. I started with wanting a Tacoma, maybe a Tundra (though not really mid-sized ik) if the price was right, and expanded my search to things like a Chevy Colorado, anything really that met my criteria. I'm pretty brand agnostic. I needed 5k pound towing capacity (got 7.5k with the 2020 Ranger, 50% more than I would need), seat 5 comfortably (with 1 likely to be in some form of car seat or booster for nearly the entire life of the vehicle), ~22 mpg average, low insurance costs, high safety ratings and features, all for under $35k. I didn't even really consider the Ranger when I started, and I was absolutely blown away by what I found when I saw it. Pound for pound it's tough to beat the quality and features in the Ford. It's a FANTASTIC truck, especially at the price Ford has it at. In my area USED 2014-15 Tacoma's with >120,000 miles on them were butting up close to within $5k of the MSRP of a new Ranger. It's crazy. I know the Toyota's reputation for longevity and reliability but there's no way I was likely to get another 200k miles out of a Tacoma with >120k already without likely having at least a couple of serious repairs, which would likely not be worth it at that point. So I'd be stuck back in the market again shopping sooner. I have had very few complaints with mine, and the few I've had have been almost entirely software/infotainment center related, so VERY minor to say the least. I would gladly but this truck again, and an actually considering a second one in the SuperCab 2 door configuration for an off-road field/work truck that I can use and abuse and my wife can take the 4 door as her daily driver. I like it that much. Sorry to start ranting and sounding like I'm giving a sales pitch, and I know you were just talking about the audio of the truck, but I just go nuts when I hear people hating on the truck because it's not a V6 or bigger. Like it's a garbage truck as a result, or that those of us that love them ain't got hair on our chests or some crap lol. Not every vehicle needs to be a v6 or bigger, and not every driver needs it to be. With the Ranger it felt like a truck built with my exact wants and needs in mind, and I was sold and couldn't be happier. End of rant, I'm sorry I went off, I literally just got off the phone with my brother having nearly the exact conversation, and him telling me I should've got a Tacoma or something, which is absolutely ludicrous once you start talking price.
All that said tbh, all things being equal, If you could get me everything the same or better than my Ranger, at or within $3-5k of the same price, with equal or better MPG whole managing to somehow stuff a V6 in there, would I have bought it? It had a 1.5L, 4 cylinder, big turbo, and it put out over 1,000 horsepower.... The F1 professional drivers were a little terrified of it, because they said, at any speed, if you pushed down too far on the gas pedal, it would break traction... BMW went on to win many F1 championships with that little motor, until Ferrari found a way to ban their car from F1....

MBRP is aluminized stainless and on their video they say it’s only suitable for dry climates. I’m in TN so it’s a no for me.
One of the best comparisons I have watched, but it is obvious each exhaust was not recorded under the some same circumstances.
Well they had to use multiple ford rangers or the same ranger with multiple exhaust systems. So it’s still the best video I’ve found.
