Surprising that a 100 rated player saw a pin like that
I bet he didn't even understood what happened.
Is it hard to make a new account?
@@Bittamin it’s not hard to create a new account. It is hard to drop to 100 rating
Smurfing? ....
Surprised that a 100 rated player knows what pins are
You gotta try this challenge again with a 10 min timer or no timer! I want to see how you decide to move your pieces pretty much blind into the opponent’s side
agreed.
enjoyed the video as is, but it would be so interesting to see how they maneuver the dark.
for sure
Oh true, he can move his mouse in this area without seeing it
@@Bladster94 but he won't be able to control it later
Yeah I want to see this challenge again but with bigger timer.
It's nutty how your opponent just happened to push pawns so aggressively, leaving you in the dark for the first half of the game.
That's typical reaction when scholar's mate doesn't work out, push all pawns, resign, write something racist in the chat
@@mariuszpudzianowski8400 problem is that he didn't even try scholars mate
@@SanderDoesThings He probably did try without realising he was doing it wrong
@@SanderDoesThings or type something racist
@@namehere6008 chat was disabled
This was honestly one of the coolest challenges in a long time. I wish the timer didn't get you because I would have loved to see you prep a mate or start pushing to the other side of the board blindly
I feel like some things like the pawn on d4 could have been guessed pretyy accurately
If you liked this, look up fog of war chess
@@mauer1 its 100 rated chess. nothing can be guessed
@@TipsyFGC not by logic no.
but by physics of the game there must be a pawn on e3 or e4. and if he tried to move forward a little bit he could figure out a lot more.
Bonus challenge in this video: "Never put any of your pieces on the opponent's side of the board"
That didn’t happen anyway, so mission fucking accomplished
@@rahulbansal2 Yeah, that's the joke pal
He couldn't see them if he did, which makes them hard to move. If they even survived...
@ShadownetZero It's a bit harder to move them in when you cannot see the squares you are clicking and dragging to. It's not impossible, no, but it's definitely difficult.
@@rahulbansal2 No, because he didn't win.
“Something was moved.”
ye lol
In challenges where you have to do a whole lot of stuff, the opponents resign when they're down a bishop, in this challenge the opponent wouldn't even accept a draw when being down a queen.
At least we can agree, they're not a paid actor.
Opponent could see he was nearly out of time, not going to accept a draw in that position. Also, they premoved the queen blunder, so it felt like they were hoping to flag the opponent from the very start.
Honestly, the deductions that were made given half the board being invisible were impressive, and I'd like to see this with a longer timer.
I'm sad that you never just moved a knight into your opponent's territory to accidentally step on one of their pawns.
You could've tried moving a piece into the unknown territory. It would be risky but possible if your piece is defended by a long ranged piece in your territory.
He'd have to fish in the dark to get it back
Yeah it would be hard findjng the piece in the darkness
@@timtams_6 you can literally just check what move you played in the chat log
@@aviebadgal I think he meant that it would be difficult finding the spot when half the monitor is covered. It may be hard to read the logs
If logs are open couldn't you just see where your opponent moved which makes the challenge pointless?
"100 rated chess but you cannot access the opposite zone"
- Nah, I'm gonna make him resign
"100 rated chess but you can't see the opponents side"
- Nah, I' gonna resign
You could add a condition to make finishing the game actually possible. How about the King is carrying a lantern so you can only see two or three rows in front of his current row, that way you can uncover more of the board by moving him toward the center.
No need, he could just not be a coward and move his pieces into the dark.
@@scar6286 a coward perhaps, but not a fool
Once he knew the king side was dead, he should have just tried moving his rooks and queen up, starting from the back rank and going to the second, etc. If you can't move to H1, try H2. You've taken a pawn, and now the king can't move forward, which he guessed it hadn't moved at all yet. Then you literally just have to push another piece back there and it's basically mate. He knew he'd taken a knight, king side rook, and the light squared bishop, and his opponent didn't castle. So unless he moved another piece to that side specifically ahead of time to avoid being mated there, it would have been nearly unstoppable. With both rooks and the queen, he could even use one of the rooks as a minesweeper. Game didn't end? Rook to G1, no mate? Rook G2. Your opponent will be confused as heck, but one step at a time you clear things out until you lose your rook and then... well, then you know where the blockage is stopping your mate.
He probably just has a sheet of paper or something covering the top half, so it'd be difficult to actually implement that. Moving any piece in that side is risking misclicks and he wouldn't even be able to tell if it happened lol

Fog of war truly hits hard
This is worse than fog of war. At least there, you can see everything your pieces and pawns control. Here, there's no such thing.
Especially when you can't move into the fog of war.
HAHAHA Advance Wars reference!
@@ivaldetesilva9815
There is an important upside in this challenge compared to the Fog of War mode, which actually saved Simp: the system makes the moves that expose the king illegal and impossible to do. If it was in the Fog of War mode, Simp had had exposed his king, and the opponent could have captured Simp's king.
Bro just cut to the end. He accepted the lose
No way he finds a check mate in 10.seconds guessing where the opposing King was. Especially as I'm 90% sure opponent was about to trade rooks
I was really expecting some fog of war moves! Sending a piece into the dark, logging where it is, and trying to use it. If you hear a capture, its dead. Or, if you try to move it and fail, dead. It gives some info in a risky way, also ghost attacks sound cool. Like assuming a pieces location and sending your queen to that square, not knowing until you get there if its a capture it not.
Either way, this was a great challenge. Totally agree that removing the time restriction on another attempt would be awesome, but I dont think challenges get repeated often so who knows.
"something moved"
It's like chess but a horror game
I actually covered the opponent's side when I first watched this video and then watched it normally for the second time for a better feeling about how you play it.
But just want to ask a question: how did you block the records on the right?
when doing "my viewer cheats" series he blocked right half of the screen to not cheat himself, so guess he can do that
Probably just tape.
@@bloodleader5 A stripe of duct tape covering that part of the monitor, another one over the oponents half of the board.
He doesn't see the record in the live game, we are seeing an analysis after the fact. The records only show during the analysis
@@ZachoLibre it does show the moves actually
It's the fog of war, but the fog is still
This was suoer interesting! Id love to see this challenge again with more time to see how it plays out
We've found Simp's weakness. It's the dark.
This video has the most "Aha" ever heard from chess simp
*chessboard click* "Something moved" honestly sounds like a great setup for a horror game. Like a FNAF-style game or something (loosely speaking - the kind of horror game where you have to sit tight at some place and make deductions while being told about movements all around you, and at some point you have to make a decision that you don't know if it will open a lethal attack on you).
the trick is to watch it blind then watch it normally, it’s actually so funny
def his best challenge yet
This is a fog of war chess, except you forgot to bring torches.
Interesting stuff, might need a bigger time limit since there's so many unknowns to have to think about, I was laughing when I saw 4:12 remaining vs your minute and a half lol
This one was really fun, kind of simulating the 100 level experience
You managed to accidentally check the opponent's king, not bad
That ending was cowardly
This has to be a series, is too good of an idea 🥂💡💡💡
"Something moved", there's literally a move history on your right, I'm surprised you never looked at it
Im guessing he covered that too
i would argue that looking at the move history is cheating
If you scroll your browser down so that you can only see Simp's half of the board, this video becomes much more intense
That's the most abrupt ending I've ever heard...😂
No joke, I legit want to see this challenge attempted again
the fact that he could just read the moves
This challenge was pretty cool! I liked how they still played on after blundering Queen to a pawn.
I watched this video twice. Once with the top half of my monitor covered and the other without
i am begging you, please do it again with 10 minutes, this was by far the best one in a long time
One of the most entertaining video you made. Gj
"I'm covering my screen"
T R U S T
For the true experience, before watching the video, scroll down so that the opponent's half is obscured on your screen too, then re-watch it without it
it would be cool to see a series where you kept replaying the more interesting challenges until you beat them
"I'm definitely not a coward" moment
This must have been so stressful
*Something was moved.*
PLEEEEASE do this one again with a longer timer!! i loved watching this
This man really just defended his queen against a pawn with a bishop like that was going to deter a pawn...
You say that you don't see the board, but you can still see the moves on the right, so you didn't have to guess the first 2 moves, actually.
“Something moved” 😂
No blind moves into the other half of the board? I thought you weren't a coward!
I was expecting fog of war, but I realized in fog of war you can still see opponent's side so long as you can advance a piece that far.
“Don’t take this pawn, use it as a shield”
-proceeds to take the pawn
You can just see the moves on the side of the screen so you know where he just moved.
i scrolled down so that i could only see the bottom half as well
Drinking game, take a shot everytime simp says "Something moved"
This time the "WTF?" doesn't comes from Simp.
but he can see the moves played at the right of his board ????💀💀
Played a very nice defensive and passive game! Would like to see it again with no timer!
"something moved"
i always think that and my board ist not covered.
This concept is amazing you should do this again with a greater timer!
I think a retry could be possible, but everytime you capture 3 of their pieces, the lowest row is revealed
Man first time lost by timeout
The "Aha"s make me lol every time
"Instead of running out of time, I just end the video right here"
Sounds like something a *coward* would do.
When you do fog of war, you have to be brave and step into the dark square tiles.
I can feel the Advance Wars Fog of War in this one.
Imagine a similar challenge but whenever you capture a piece or pawn you can name squares equal to the captured piece's or pawn's value. From that point, you can see said squares.
Battleship Chess?
Actually that sounds hilarious; why not:
"100-rated Chess, but you can't see anything but the squares your pieces occupy at the start. Each turn you name a square and you can now see that square"
"Something was moved" sounds very scary for some reason
Pov: you can see the sequence of moves on the right 💀
Who needs a queen when his bishop can teleport like that? Clearly you're playing Chatgpt
In the end, the true challenge was not knowing how much time your opponent still had
I'd like to see this again in a longer time control like 15+10, of course that is if you have the time to record for so long just for a short video for the day, which I understand could be very inconvenient
Watched the video covering the upper half for the true simp experience
You can see the moves on the side of the screen, right off the board.
Gotta try this one again, with possibly a longer timer and making some calculated yolo moves into the darkness.
I’m assuming you had the notation covered as well for yourself?
That "ahaa" is sooo😂😂
That was actually super interesting. I'd love to see this kind of thing again.
played the same with half blind and made a brilliant move lol
I was not predicting that.
But I was predicting not to predict something so it doesn't count.
He can see the moves so its like playing blindfold chesss
That’s a first-of-its-kind challenge! Beautiful match!
I think you could’ve won by waiting for the opponent to blunder all their pieces and pawns, and then doing a ladder checkmate.
Waiting for the moment, when the phrase "Something moved" becomes a meme on the channel
why is “something was moved” the funniest thing I've ever heard?
Fog of war chess: hardcore edition
Surprised the opponent didn't take the draw.
I actually laughed out loud at the first : '' something was moved''
What a coward, ending the game like that.
This was so much fun!
He could just look at moves list at the right side
Do this challenge again, but every three rounds, you are allowed to look at the board
When you see that the opponent was per moving for most of time
I think you should retry this with the additional rules below
- every 7 (or more) points captures, you unlock a new row that you can see
Simp is too scared of the dark, he offers a draw and loses on time like a coward instead of venturing into the dark.
Huh, you weren't far off checkmating but the 100 rated got the reward from not giving up, and made your waste time with some useful forks. He has a future imo
Win or loss, at least your opponent blundered their woman, which was very convenient.
Something moved.
when he can see notation:
you was up material, just attack.
I think you should be allowed to move your pieces into the space where you can't see.
