What was you haviest crash and what happend ? Are you regretting you went out that day ?
I was extremely powered on my 9sm and coming down from a fairly high jump for me at that time, I guess around 12m. My heliloop caught me well but I got quite fast and got in front of my kite. And because of the slack in my lines I somehow managed to hook my bar into my hook...
And as my kite caught wind again it started to deathloop...
In front of me was a beginner and I was going right between him and his lines. I was already seeing myself hanging in his lines with my limbs cut off due to the pull in between both of our kites lines... I think he saw me coming and out fear just let go of the bar so his kite dropped and i somehow managed to go over his lines. Ripped of little bit of skin/flesh on the lines but not major happened. But the ride still wasnt over as my kite was now dragging me over the beach. I cant recall exactly how it happened but I was able to get the bar unhooked i think I released the quick release which made get kite lose power for a sec.
I was sooo lucky nothing happened besides the lready mentioned few wounds on my hands/feet where his lines cut of some skins and flesh.
FUUUUUCK @@lucamartini7442 - that sounds horrible...
Double frontroll with messed up heliloop, crashed backwards and with ton of speed. Still hurts.
My worst kitemare was when I was overpowered on my 14m and my mom decided to grab my bar which ended up me getting yeeted across the parking lot
Fuck, I've saw something similar in Capetown at the beach with some random tourist. Are you still fine ... ?
dude same thing nearly happend to me. I got yeeted away anyway but in the end because of my fault xd
@@BenBeholzVlogs ahaha i didn’t even realise u replied to this comment. Yes I’m good I have a scar on my ankle and that’s about it
Loving the quote: If you don't want to crash, you're never going to progress! Keep it up
Hey May Witjes glad you like it. The wisdom of the day 😜😂
Define "Crash". Jumping over bridges is by far the most stupid thing you can do with kiteboarding in my opinion. Why making an already dangerous sport X100 more risky for your physical health? Imagine you end up in a wheelchair for the rest of your life when you could pull off 10m jumps on the water with nearly no chance to hurt yourself permanently. Sadly the rider Ben will just learn if he can't go on the water one day and then it is too late. I mean it is your body so go for it but in my opinion risk becomes a drug for some folks and maybe they should reflect on their need for adrenaline and near death experience.
Ben, you are a legend. Thanks for sharing your journey. Hopefully, we can all learn a little from your mistakes, but don't be disappointed if we don't. We are all just a little crazy - just like you. Get well and post more Vlogs soon.
Hey Mike, sick to hear that. Thank you and have fun water :)
great production!
Thank you Luigi Simoncini 😊🙏 Glad you like it 😊
Great video, thanks. One thing that I think would be useful is to see more crashes, and most importantly, how you recover from the crash. Lots of videos on youtube show jumps and tricks that go well or end in a crash, but not many I can find that show how they recover. Being nervous of the recovery is the one thing that holds me back from progressing - watching others crash and their recovery would be very helpful. Thanks for all of your time sharing videos!
Hey John Garland thank you for your feedback 😊🙏
great message
Thank you Danny :) , happy you got it the right way ;)
hi Ben , I love your videos and keep shredding but regarding the first two crashes.. no pain no gain...leave the comfort zone... progress.. all fine.. but for me health.. has to stay always on top.. no jump in the world is worth a longtime injury.. no brain no gain concept 🤙💪😎. i am happy that I didnt start kiteboarding as a teenager would have done stupid shit too.
Hey, thank you for the good words and the well thaught feedback. In general I’m with you, I hope people don‘t get the message wrong. I think helth is always the most important... 🙏
Keep going!
What exactly happened at that last crash? It didn’t even look like a crash, just a bit of a rough landing
I badly overstreched my left leg - but it was mainly a rough landing on chop...
The last trick was copied from me without my consent. My lawyer will contact you.
It's called 'Falling from my board in a big spray of water while everyone else looks cool' :))
ups...
Well my heaviest Crash happend when i was just a beginner..
just beeing able to jump about 1 to 2 m high.. and.. one day great wather at fehmarn i was still waiting for my son to come out on the water, i decided to try out a bit more hight.
So to say, i nailed it .. perfect timing by accident combined with a good gust on my 13.5 xr. got up about 6 to 7 m i think.. but didnt know in any way what to do in this hight. so i thought maybe to redirect my kite to the front.. which happend... quite quick mheanwhile i was slowly rotating to the side.. still im 5 m hight.. i saw the kite directly beside me.. and hitting the wather first with my right side of the body.
which lead to 5 month without kiting, swiching to a seating trapez.. and bying my first protection vest..
never the less.. all worth it.
Thank you for your story - I‘m still sorry to hear that. But I guess you‘re back again and learned... Right ?
Ride safe and enjoy the ride where ever it takes you 😊🙌
@@BenBeholzVlogs Thanks Ben.. Sure i still learn.. now able to jump double frontrools and double backrools, mikrokiteloops and landingloops.. and still rising..
even with 53 Years.. you still can get better..
but of course you have to pay attention more as if your bones had half the years..
@@tomschuelke7955 That‘s sick 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Faaaaaaaack Ben!!!!
I just cringe watching that bro! Glad ur ok. I vearned to resist jumping over shit. Not sure my biggest crash , but this was a memorable time.
I was sno kiting and managed to jump right thru my buddies lines!! I landed hard and my kite started to death loop pulling both me and my buddy across the lake. I was in his kite ! Then I felt one of my friends lines snap and I knew I d ruined our day ! A min later he released and I started to pick up speed, riding his kite like a toboggan and getting towed by my death spiralling kite ! Towards a cement breakwater. I recall thinking, if my kite goes over that, this could be bad! I was hog tied in the kite. Pulling the release wasn t an option since my lines were badly twisted. I tried to reach a centre line but there was too much power. I was completely at the mercy of the situation and whatever was about to happen. Luckily my kite stuck to the snow on one of the loops and my friend was able to catch up and finally get the kite secured! Learned a lot that day !
Fuck Dude ! That sounds horrible... how do you feel these days, is it sill in the back of your mind or do you fully enjoy the kiting again ?
FREISTIEL by Ben Beholz danke.
High jumps and free style tricks are already impressive, jumping over stuff is unnecessary risk or at least wear a helmet
Hey Johnny-Anthony Khawand thank you for your feedback. Can absolutely understand that opinion... Do you never jump over over stuff ?
@@BenBeholzVlogs Probably i would, but still think it is a bad idea :D
Haha, true that Johnny-Anthony Khawand 😜😂
Nice second hand gear... not used a lot 😂
haha 😆 good price !
I thought the lesson would be to trust instead of ignoring your own judgement!
Haha, don‘t you like my leasson ?
Some of those clips were brutal - like your quote, similar to Bruce Waynes dad. Bruce why do we fall?
Thank you buddy ! Happy you got it the right way
Sorry Freistiel, but you are wrong, I have been seeing your series for quite some time, and I enjoy it very much, and you give very good tips, but in this case you are wrong! of course if you don´t try and error (crash) you don´t progress, but this cases you just push it to much and think that luck will get you over, this video just show that that we (kiteboaders) make many mistakes when we trust too much in ourselfs when the equipment, the wind and the spot are not suited to this tricks, and we still try and do stupid things that will hurt us. the message you should send in this case is simple, acess the spot, the wind and the equipment if every thing feel right, that try, if not, don´t try or you will get hurt.
Hey Luis Simões thank you for your deep thaughts. Super Interesting! I hope everyone takes his personal message out of the video. 😊🙏
He sounds soooooo german!
Suuure, I am german 😂😉
You got lucky w them trees, it could've killed you dude
A good job, it would be nice to have it on @sueltalabarra IGTV and UA-cam
Sure go for it 😊🤘
LG
Erster xD
