Thank you Louis. 24% of my incomes are from board repair now. I fall into your channel in 2016 and i never stopped watching to get all knowledge and repair boards in France. Keep it going bro’
I don't usually watch these as much because their a bit too long in my day, but I'm glad you actually record your work. Don't see myself in repair anytime soon, but I'm glad such material is available to people.
Louis is like the basketball player. He throws the shot and walks away before it sinks, knowing it's in the basket. I remember the first episode of How To Be A Millionaire. The guy had one rescue call left and he called his mom. He said, "Mom, your son just won a million dollars. The answer is B". hah hah hah!
Louis Rossmann I know you're tired of BR vids, but as an early watcher, i'm glad you still do these every meow and then. I think it's a good blend of the recliner of rage videos combined with board repair.
Louis, I maybe in the minority of people that like to watch your board videos, but I do. And I thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I also understand your reasoning behind not posting as many board repair videos. Keep up the good fight and I hope you and yours the best for this new year!!
I really appreciate you explaining power rails. I have basic knowledge of electronics, never done board component level repair before because lack of equipment, but I managed to pick up some concepts (like the 0 18 0 18 voltage stabilization) and even some terms like ppbus g3 hot without really understanding what they mean (I mean, it has pp on the name, kinda easy to remember). I've been meaning to look for a video where you had already explained it or to wait long enough until you get a new one out where you do. This was the video I was expecting. Thanks again ❤️. (Edit: typos, grammar, etc. Thanks also for reading my comment despite my south american engrish XD )
Hey Louis, thanks to your videos I was brave enough to replace the battery in my a1707. While not any board level repair, I can see why you're into this. It was so satisfying fixing it, such a hit of dopamine.
18k+ views seems like a pretty respectable size audience interested in watching your vids, hope you keep them coming. Thank you professor for all the dedicated work that goes into them.
I've had a disagreement or two with you (airline bailout) in the past, but I've really enjoyed watching your channel... as a EE (by training, not profession) .. your work is impressive to watch and learn from, and your political editorials are also for the most part full of common sense and logic, that sadly doesn't infect most of our fellow citizens..
Cheers for the new upload! I admire and love watching your videos that you upload and hopefully throughout the year, I might consult on getting parts from you as you're upfront and honest where you source them and the quality of how long they would last! Greetings from the UK!
Extremely glad I returned my mac mini m1 within full refund time after green pixel display problems. Even trying 3 different monitors. I would of been through service hell for weeks
I know you love those gloves but you can "nip the tip" to coin a phrase from Mel Brooks. Then when you find the bad cap you can put a new glove on (after you wash one hand with the edge of the sink).
I still have an iPhone SE from 2016 I think that is slow but still usable. From learning how difficult new phones are to fix I pray every day that my phone still works enough. My home button doesn’t want to work on the lock screen. Now I did get my battery changed once by Apple before my warranty expired but if they screwed up tightening screws (that I made them fix immediately) I fear that it’s related.
0:05-0:29. Yeah man, very GOOD direction giving for helping your viewer stay in your rear preview (a link to more of your own info or related info). I do the same. SPEAK.
I'm curious how it's possible that food happened to be on the board of MacBook. I always thought that electronic devices have that thing called housing to prevent such phenomena.
Stress is a biatch. It always finds us. Kick it in the nuts and.... We love your repair videos. Don't forget it. Butt videos also get more views than repair videos, doesn't give them more worth over repair videos !
As a total side note: I can take some commercials to support a channel I like but I can't take invermercials that makes me forget what I really wanted to watch - yeah, I'm old.
Louis. Bro... For the love of Clinton make another. New Years Resolution, this time that you're going to switch your daily coffee intake to decaffeinated before your brain implodes
I know you are typically only into hardware but please do a video on Catalina >>> Big Sur upgrade. If you have FileVault & Boot Security enabled, the MacOS Big Sur installer re-encrypts and locks you out of your own hard disk.
Hey Louis love the channel I have a question I wanted to get into electronic repair but on the amateur radio side just on an enthusiast level someplace to start what's a good place to start learning about amateur radio components I watch your videos all the time I'm feeling confident that I can dive in and maybe repair an old amateur radio
Hey Louis! I just heard that the EU is working on some new Right to repair legislation. You may want to have a look at that. Perhaps that would be a way to circumvent problems with this in the US?
i think some of the lanes in Louis' brain are switching too fast due to neurosis short to the ground. Just look how fast he's talking. Almost like cocaine people. Let's hope he will be able to find what's going to ground and eliminate that stress inducer circuit. We love you, have a better year
How do all these Macbooks break? My mom is using my old 15-inch Mid 2010, no major issues I replaced the trackpad because she refuses to use tap to click. So naturally the trackpad cracked and also replaced the fans a few years back. Other then that it's still alive and well. My 13-inch from 2014 is still kicking too even though it should have melted by now.
They just do. Eventually your mom's will kernel panic due to the C9560 failure on the GPU framebuffer buck converter. The 13" from 2014 will likely be fine until the end of time.
Its got power, its good at things that apple does good and even worse at things apple does bad Louis likely would not recommend it as he hates apple and would happily not repair apple anymore if that meant that apple stopped making stuff he needs to repair
I think that is the most dangerous thing for electronics is when they put a high voltage / current line or pin right next to a data line or pin then moisture or water gets involved.
It’s a real Shame to me your losing interest in these sorts of videos ( or maybe it’s you reacting to your audience losing interest ) because I find them endlessly entertaining and there’s much to be learned from Them
I recently refunded halo master chief collection, because it requires an update that microsoft released that activates telemetry for windows 7. After supposed support for it has passed. In your opinion is this for spying, to push updates that will worsen my machine, or because microsoft cares. Also what kind of required OS update would make you uninstall dota 2 no questions asked.
I get it that you don't want to give people bad news.. But when people see how you work and even after that they still want to be your customer... It's because you earned their trust. Bad news or good news they will trust you and the peeps that work for you. F me Apple could never earn that kinda trust.

I can barely solder but I still like to watch you fix a mac book. bought myself a soldering station and fixed my chevy truck circuit board.
Louis: "mac repair videos bore me"
*uploads yet another mac repair*
I mainly watch it to hear Louis' sarcasm
Same
what he should do is use code words, swapping cocktail names for mac jargon. PP3BusG3H = Tequila sunrise, Fan Spin = OldFashioned etc
