Another great ACD story that you've recorded for the world to hear, with some of the best English accents to boot. I've Gotta say it again Greg Wagland, you are arguably the best Narrator of ACD novels period. Cheers Wagz, from Melbourne Australia...🇦🇺
Hello Greg, another wonderful narration. I've always been very fond of this story, perhaps as I grew up not far from Congleton (although the geography in the story is a bit mysterious, I assumed it was the Peak District but that's nowhere near Morecambe Bay, unless ACD is giving that title to the whole coastline from Barrow to Liverpool... but I digress). I recorded a version of this a while back, as you say it's great fun with so many different voice and accents! I enjoyed your rendition very much indeed, good to hear you in fine voice. I hope you're keeping well, best wishes
And you Bitesized! Keeping well and in relatively good voice. Hope you are too! Have a good Christmas! I looked up Congleton on the map and couldn't get my head round it either!
I have listened so many times to these wonderful works of Sir ACD from yours lips and now this has become the most favourite passtime of mine... Thank you a hundred time, Mr. Wagland.
Ooh, ooh, it was me who requested it *jumping up and down like a four year old!! * 😁 Didn't expect it so soon. Thsnk you, Greg, as always a superb and gripping read. Keep on doing what you do x 📖😍
I often listen to these stories to help rock me off to sleep, since they're so incredibly soothing to listen to. The problem is I shake myself awake when I start to doze off because I don't want to miss the endings.
Mr Maple's grocery was never as successful as he hoped. Then he hit on the idea of naming a customer loyalty card after his trademark injured foot. The Clubcard took off and the business never looked back. A little-known fact - to this day, if you limp up to a Tesco check-out and say to the operator "I am Stephen Maple" you'll get a special discount.
Perhaps the northern dialect smacks of Manchester, Greg? Love your Conan Doyle work, whatever guise it presents. It lightens these strange days considerably. Cheers from Ontario Canada.
Thanks Taylor. Maybe it does. It's what I consider to be a general Northern 'wash'. Non specific twang. Let's not get hung up on crude measures of professionalism - I'll be charging next ;-)
@@sherlock_holmes_magpie_audio Oh no worries Greg, I just have a really good ear for picking up accents more generally. Even if I'm not correct every time, it still represents excellent practice for me. Stay safe and well.
I wonder, would you read kidnapped by robert louie stevenson for it is a favourite of mine, and your voice is a pure joy my good man, simply wonderful.
It's a very anticlimactic ending. I wished the nephew to realize some gain from the loot however I guess this is the way of the world. Sounds like in this era sailors have long memories and little to no cares to their consequences on land as sea.
Humans of old. Not many could do this now. I could manage a few smudgy potato prints! It’s a little sad perhaps? 😵💫 All the best. This message was also generated by human!
Hi Greg, I just noticed that another channel has uploaded this content on their channel with no credit to you. It’s a channel called something like “learn English through stories with rajalii”
What?!! I’m traumatized by the Talking Fast Guy! What’s goin on around here? I’m running outta soap! Anybody know what day it is?Geez Laouise Calamine Lotion!!
Another Wonderful Story and The Familiar Voice That Brings These Stories To Life ,
Mr. Wagland, I will very happily listen to anything you record. Go ahead, read me the phone book. You're just the best.
Stay tuned for that... I'm running out of ACD.

Cheers Deon. How's the Melbourne Madness?
Thank you for a wonderful time! What a storyteller you are. Sir ACD would be proud to have you as his narrator.
My day is complete - I can prepare supper while listening to a new story! This is akin to dessert before the entree !
Like Angel Delight before a Shipham's Paste Sandwich.
Now then ... I am ready to prepare the meal, Mr. Wagland ; is the custard ready yet?
this is the very best.

I knew I had heard this one somewhere before
I grew up in Congleton. Mum still lives there! ACD has been quite fantastical with his geography!
And you Bitesized! Keeping well and in relatively good voice. Hope you are too! Have a good Christmas! I looked up Congleton on the map and couldn't get my head round it either!
Sir ACD was educated near Clitheroe, so it's perhaps unsurprising that he's familiar with the Morecambe Bay area.
Thanks, love your narrations, good afternoon from Montreal
Thanks for listening! Not too cold in Montreal Anthony?
Good to hear from you.
I shall never look at a grocer the same way again down Tesco's.
Thanks as per, Michael. Indeed.
Oh, thank you! I loved every moment. Your voice is a true gift.
Kind of you to say so, Barbara. Glad you enjoyed it.

Great stuff. I'll try it, Mac.
Thank you for a new one! I enjoyed it.
Thanks for listening Michelle!
Thank you again an excelent reading.
You should make a podcast reading more of this and other authors. I would love that 💙
“...legs of a wood louse...” is a great description for eyelashes.
Thank you for Grocer & Grimshaw! ❤️🀄️🀄️🀄️🀄️🀄️🀄️🀄️🀄️❤️
Our pleasure! All the best Ann.

Thank you Sir
Most welcome WANT TRY!
This was a fun one. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Aah...loved IT!!!✨
Good to hear, Manya. Thanks for your support.
I love creepy stories but I can't watch creepy movies lol Thank you!
Is it hyperbole to use the word “genius” here? Thank you ACD and Mr. Wagland for transporting me (once again) to another place and time.
No Thomas. Don't hold back. cheers!
BTW This is amazing.
Thanks Huzaifa. Appreciate your comment!

Anybody wanna here my story of when I ran away with the Carnival and hung out with a guy with club feet that ran the Big Wheel? It’s a true story. 😝
It sounds very interesting! What year was this, Ring?
P.S.
I love that you utilize HUMAN ARTIST’s artwork and list the artist’s name & piece, as well.

Thanks for the info!
Why am I here? I’m suppose to be on #6.
A brilliant writer, those brits produced them ...😊
We stopped indoors due to the fog and scribbled a bit, et voila!
Read by Greg who?
Greg Norman. He plays golf in between recording these stories.
Greg Wagland
Pea coats never go out of style. Just sayin.
So true.
Pls de Sherlock Holmes: The House of Silk

My grandson got a hamster but he named it CoCo. 🤔 Should be Allowishes I think. Whatever.
I quite like CoCo for a hamster.
The author knows about 'Food Club'. The first rule of Food Club is not to write about Food Club.😂😂😂
Sigular castanet... lol.
Good line!
