  • The Pit Online Dojo: 7 Things A Cornerman Must Do
Being a cornerman is a very difficult position. A fighter looks to you to help them win the fight in the most difficult of situations. Not only must you be able to be strong, and extremely confident, but you also must be very flexible, and able to go to plan B, and even C or D in some instances, you also must be able to revitalize your fighter in less than a minute.
Thank you for being a part of The Pit Online Dojo. I hope we can help you reach all of your martial arts, self-defense, and fitness goals. Please feel free to contact me for any questions, comments or compliments... ⛩☯️🙏

    1. Oxygenate your fighter
    2. Coagulate your fighter (if they're bleeding): direct pressure and ice
    3. Invigorate your fighter and get them back up, don't worry too much about hydrating them
    4. Dictate to your fighter what they need to do the next round, don't conversate with them
    5. Articulate what your fighter needs to do, make it easy for them to understand
    6. Educate them what they have to do next
    7. Motivate your fighter before the next round, tell them whatever they need to hear that keeps them going

I’m a semi retired amateur boxer, starting on my journey as a corner man’s assistant. This sounds like an excellent start on what I need to know. Thank you Jack!

Great vids. Thanks for these. Can you do one explaining what's going on with those post-its? Seriously though, maybe one on choosing when and which comps to enter the fight team, how often guys fight etc?
