Starting a New Life in Honeywood - Echoes of the Plum Grove - Episode 1

With the 1.0.1 Update, your repeat blueprints can now be sold for 50 coins!
I wanted to write a note that William Watt finally returned to working as the Carpenter after marrying him. It took about a week for him to go back to work but he did! There was also an update in that time so I don't know if it was the update or not. He still isn't perfect though, in this save he gets really messed up.
I also apologize in advance for all the different names I have called Honeywood.
I am doing this playthrough with decay and tool durability off. I find those two settings take away some of the coziness feeling of the game and makes me feel more stressed. I might at some point turn those settings on but for a long while they will remain off.

I recommend it! It's a very cute game! It's a little addicting. I like it because every save is a fully different game so you can easily play it over and over. It does have a very steep learning curve which can be a little frustrating at times.

Nice to know you are also quite addicted to this game. I'm a rather sad case - I have been messing around with "hard mode" saves to everything off super casual. I can see why Rowland is a favorite when going hard - nice to drop a tool off to him at bedtime for repair. Plus he gifts you tools and other materials. I have turned the fishing mini-game off in every mode I play. I like to make money fishing especially late spring/early summer when I need my wood for building and crafting. The harder fish take so long that my hands start to ache.
Not sure why your spouse lost his profession - I've not seen that happen, but then again, I never assign my spouse to any farming chores. I wonder if that makes a difference? I've assigned kids and yeah I do have to make sure they water. From what I understand, aside from providing a full watering can, if they are going to school or apprenticing, they will take off and attend to those responsibilities so the time they spend helping on the farm may be limited.
Gifting hobby related items and profession related items can be pretty easy for early game. Example: I refused to insult people for a certain NPC just to make friends with them - so I gifted some yarn, make them smile and all is well with the world. I had heard they like to knit, thus they loved the gift.
Definitely one of my favorite games right now and I love that you can tailor the game to be played any which way you want to. You can even change things mid-stream if needed. To me this greatly adds to the replay ability. I look forward to seeing your journey!!

I'm very addicted to this game...it's sad! This is a great new game for the genre. The game feels so different each save. It is so rare that things happen in the same order. I also love being able to change game rules whenever I feel like it. I wish more games did that! I'm getting ready to start my first "hard mode" save with everything on except the fishing game and lifespan at normal. No clue how long I will last!
I think the reason I don't understand why everyone is going for Rowland is because they are super easy to find and even as friends, they gift you a lot of stuff as does Daniel the apprentice. In my other save, Daniel gave me 3 picks, a gold ring and 3-4 iron tools. Rowland always sends me new tools too. My other save is at around 4,000 coins in the first week of Fall. I wish I was filming that save because I am given so much stuff! At one point I had an entire chest of gifted clothing!
William is messed up in both of my saves when I married him. In this save, he lost the carpentry profession again so after 3 days I sent him to "look for work" and now he's a hunter. In the other save, he did become a carpenter again, but he barely works. I have no clue what is wrong with William. Part of me thinks it's because the carpenter is the only trade/shop where there are 2 marriage candidates so the game gets confused or this is his annoying trait because it annoys the heck out of me! I'm tempted to marry his brother to see if the same thing happens.
For me, remembering hobbies is too much! I have tried to do that before, but I got annoyed with looking it up on their bio page. I also never do the insulting quests. I wish it wasn't in the game but someone out there may want to be evil I guess?!? It's definitely not for me and my play style. Being nice gets you free stuff!
