I’m now watching this in 2022 and I just realized that this should’ve been a foreshadowing of him no longer making videos for a while. I truly don’t think there’s anyone on UA-cam that can replace the greatness that Ryan has created. Your talent, Ryan, is truly something out of this world. Talent is a little big but I know what you mean. But I think it's more along the lines of Ryan showing the world that you don't need to be born rich in order to make it big. You don't need hollywood to become famous. And all you need to gain an audience of adoring fans is heart and lots of effort.

It's kind of sad to hear that the voice inside Ryan's head is pressuring him to change because he's "too old" to be a social media star. The main reason why he still has so many loyal fans to this day is because he never changed. So many OG UA-camrs who started alongside him have sold their souls to maintain longevity, but have turned into corporate shells of who they used to be. Ryan is the one of the only UA-camrs who has remained the same person we subscribed to on day 1. Legends never die.

I’m coming to this a year later, you randomly popped up in my mind. I haven’t watched your videos in like 5 years but you were a staple of my childhood, I still reference your songs and old videos. The minute I played this video and heard your voice I felt at home. I’m not usually one for forming parasocial relationships but this video immediately made me realize how comfortable I feel coming back to your channel and how safe I felt in an instant. I went through a lot of struggles as a child and me and my brother went through a lot of abuse but your videos were something we always could come home and actually enjoy. We’d scramble to my grandpas laptop just to rewatch your videos over and over and laugh. It gave us a small break from the torment of our regular lives. I couldn’t be more grateful for what you gave us.

The fact that Ryan can come back on UA-cam today and his content basically remain the same yet be as potent , relevant and good as ever speaks volume to how much of a legend he is. I'm in a similar boat with Ryan although younger but i have accepted the fact that you never actually figure life out and it's always going to seem like a blur no matter what you do. Because if that's the case for people like Ryan who have , in my eyes, done so much in their life then it's obviously going to be like this for the everyday person just going through life.

There's something weirdly comforting to me about seeing the different ways different UA-camrs grow out of youtube fame. Ryans a great example of doing it gracefully, so is Julian Smith and a few other greats come to mind.

I just turned 29 yesterday and I came back re-watching this video. I am feeling unhappy and having lots of anxieties about getting old, and not getting all the things done in life as I planned when I was young. But... I never really regretted any decisions I made in my 20s so far. I no longer care about how people think of me and I started focusing on myself a lot more. Even though I am still learning to be mature, pursuing my dreams & taking things one step at a time, that's completely okay, and everyone has their own rhythms in life. I will continue to follow my heart to do whatever I want, no regrets.

Ryan says repeatedly that hes wasted so much time but I don't think I would call it wasted. I grew up watching his stuff and loving his content. There wasn't a lot of Asian representation in western media and I am grateful that his channel existed. His videos would take me away from whatever was happening in my life at the time, and I appreciated that, even if it was only for 5-10 minutes of my day. I'm 22 this year and honestly I think that's crazy too, I definitely don't feel old enough but I hope that if Ryan ever reads this he knows that he's influenced a lot of people's lives for the better. He may not have two kids but he undoubtedly made the lives of many better. I think hes definitely matured but its refreshing to see that his essence and sense of humor is the same because to be able to see the world with a childlike wonder is a rare and valuable thing. And it reminds those of us who were fans from 10 years ago of a time that was much simpler, it gives us warm feeling reminiscent of the good parts of childhood.

Ryan was a cornerstone of me and my cousin’s childhood. We’d watch it at our grandma’s house and it was one of the first things we bonded over. He also taught me what ADHD was and made me feel better when I was getting bullied. You can’t put that on a resume and it’s not going down in history as something significant, but it is to me so thank you Ryan

I don't know if this helps you in any way, but I hope you know that you *have* made a difference in a lot of peoples lives; not only have you inspired hundreds of people to create, to live on, you've also broadened others perspectives on life, including mine. You've brought attention to issues that don't get enough coverage, been a source of laughter and happiness during the world's dark times, and you've definitely educated millions of people on the dark sides of the media and other trends (the first thing that comes to mind is all the times you've fought for asian representation, like the Steve Harvey video, that really hit close to home heh)
You're totally entitled to any choices you decide to follow through with regarding the channel, or anything outside your life on the internet, but I hope you know that you already *have* changed millions of lives, no matter what path life will take you on in the future

We are all getting old at this point! I remember back in 2007/2008, you were my intro to UA-cam. Loved it back then and still now! Rejoice in your accomplishments and progress from yesterday. You are an inspiration to many.
Ryan is like the old school anime writers. They take a lot of hiatuses but when they come back it's always up to par with what they've done before because they're that good so it's always worth the wait.

The moment I realized he's going to be 30, I also realized how much I grown up with him.

I just got done rewatching all of your old, "how to be" videos and it brought back such nostalgic feeling. I was smiling at my screen remembering how I used to embody your videos as a kid. I'd watch them with my older sister and then my little brother and I would act them out. I'm 23 now. Just thought you should know that you were a happy part of my childhood
Man inadvertently became a piece of history forever in the archives of media, and he "will never do anything significant". We all love this man.
With Ryan though, I've never really been upset by the breaks he takes from youtube because whenever he does upload it's always quality content and never once does he give us absolutely irrelevant excuses for these breaks either. I adore his humor and have been here for a WHILE. I hope he knows there are people out there who love him and genuinely still support his content!

Irrelevant excuses for these breaks? What makes an irrelevant excuse for a break? Maybe he just wants a break. No other reason. Just not feeling it. Does that count as an irrelevant excuse? You're not paying for his content (as far as I'm aware) so any excuse should really be perfectly okay. It is his life, his content. And even if you were paying, as long as you weren't made to continue to pay when there's no content being released, then it's all gravy.
