Ty for refreshing my memory. I’m 41 trying to get my brain back into math, calc n physics. I decided to go back to school, this very long break from engineering n math (the very immature mistakes not taking the opportunity I had). Hopefully after your videos, physics ninja, online class, soon my brain will start rolling again bring back the math I enjoyed n still do. Atm kind of scattered trying to figure where to start 😂 thanks again and see you on other videos 👍🏻
It might have helped students if you had shown that the first two actually 'works' rather than just giving an example. If you had used root(4) times root(9) which is 2 x3 = 6, then used your first rule to give root(36) which is of course 6. Then go on with other examples. The same idea can be used for the second rule. For the last I would personally get students to use their calculators to show that addition of surds doesn't give the correct answer. I know these are not proofs but at least it would help the students more.
