Hey awesomecrunch. Been playing the launched subnautica and I believe I found a time capsule from you. "One small step for Man, one giant leap for Subnautica". Wanted to say thank you very much for the tools and ion crystals.
Hey Awesomcrunch, liked the vid. An idea for the explanation of the arctic biome; what if it is a hint at a sequel instead of a DLC? The player returns to 4546B with a team to pay back the outstanding debt he owes by trying to collect as many samples of enzyme 42 as possible to cure Khara(?) in the universe but a secondary quarantine enforcement weapon has become active after you first left and again you end up stranded on the planet. Something to think of.
Those SFX are amazing. If you would consider making survival series from Subnautica, you should use this and make a movie-like series where you are recording what you are doing as a survivor.
Adding echoes is kinda awesome idea! You should do it more :D
Dominik Valuska Y'know, I did try that, But it was really cringey because I'm a bad actor
I like how he put an echo when he was in the facility and more muffled in the water, but as soon as he went back outside or on top of the water it went back to normal.
[NvG] -Weeb- Glad you liked it
yeah i noticed this, interesting thing to do.
"And theres the artic zone hinting to a possible expansion"
Now: SUBNAUTICA :BELOW ZERO
Duck Mapping yeah I wonder if that was a joke OR if three wasn’t anything about Below Zero at the time.
It's not an expansion :/
ohhh
Nolan Ba cool no one asked
@@6.coloured.pictures Duck Mapping asked it lol
Its pretty cool when ur outside you edit your voice to be normal, but when you went inside the precursor base, you gave the sound a little echo.
Love it!
that was a really nice touch
GroovyDominoes52 yaaaas
it's as if the player is speaking
@@imapepsi1356 yeah i really love it, adds to the video
I assumed the ending was a pre-rendered cutscene. This is much more interesting
Nice pfp
Very good pfp
If you this interesting, take a look at the portal and portal 2 ending!
@@multiverseone8115 they literally put space under the floor lmao
@@minosprimegaming1400 that is what you call APERTURE SCIENCE!
The devs are:
A. Lazy
B. Geniuses
Take your pick.
They are lazy
Laziness often leads to true genius. It takes a clever mind to BS something in the most efficient way possible!
@@dovahkat9635 true lol.
Geniuses
Midori Gurin My teacher of IT often says the best computer specialist is a lazy one.
*leaves rocket after "landing"*
Riley: GOD D-
LOL
That's the way they've done the intro cinematic with the lifepod falling from the Aurora, there's just a 2D concept art of the Aurora in space moving away from the pod with explosive VFX while the pod itself is standing still on the water surface all the way through.
visual effects
Also, if you look at the med kit fabricator at the start of the game, you can see the water. Your on the water the entire time.
Haven't seen any of your vids in a few months, your voice hit puberty like the Aurora hit 4546B
The rocket is a lie
Master Gaming The Cake is a lie.
Pika this is not Portal
The Planet is a lie
Master Gaming I imagine after the credits, instead of the credits, you get the message Game finished. Please remove VR, and you take off a vr like headset on the aurora in the vr room
Connor Games PLOT TWIST
Nice detail on the sounds i notcied it so quickly when you were in the base talking and it made echos
*okay but tell me what happens when a bird flies over the rocket*
The game probably despawns all creatures during the launch.
@@Slender_Man_186 no shit Sherlock
What if you build the rocket next to the alien weapon?
RavRazer fuck you and fuck off, no one asked for your input.
@@illuminatedstonepersonisp6869 u acctually cant it says "rocket must be build in deeper water" or something like this
We found your timecapsule!
You put: ion cubes, scanner, repair tool.
Way Dansten GD Awesome
*That one asshole who puts a single floater in and takes all the titanium*
I put my Cyclops mk3 depth, sonar, and thermal charger, plus prawn mk2 depth, grapple arm, and drill arm, so whoever found mine must have had some real fun
If I could I would leave all the blueprints, but since I cannot, I would put kyanite, plaster ingots, ion cubes, uranite, titanium ingots, and a scanner tool.
I put my two fish who have always been together and some water, added my cuddlefish picture, and told whomever is to find my time capsule to please keep my fishies together bc they've never been separated 🥺
Alttera HR’s: Okay guys, so it cost to much to send actual rocket blueprints to this guy, what are we going to do?
Other guy: How about we just make a fake window on top of the rocket, and you are forced to look up, then the window is a screen and makes it look like your leaving!
Main guy: Good idea, but what do we do after?
Other guy: Gas him!
That would explain the hallucinations...
Sheev Palpatine are you really the emperor?
No definitely not
I’m totally not the emperor
Prepare to fire at ea- crap this isn’t the comms network, you earthling- I mean normal people, err nvm
That's incredible. I first thought the ending was just a video file, but this is amazing.
I like the echo effect in your voice at 0:34 and how it almost sounds blunt when you step outside at 1:06.
5:50 how did I seriously miss that hint of the expansion
Very very nice sound editing details, great job :)
Thank you :)
Bro congrats on making it in the credits
I have Seen things thanks :)
Awesomecrunch no problem man I hope to see more vids man keep up the good work
*IMO this is genius, the way they created the ending is just magnificent. Its really "light weight" for anyone playing it aswell since there are no moving what so ever other than the planetary object and metal scrap.*
It's like Star Tours at Disney Land. The ride and the passengers don't really go anywhere. It's the just the sound and visuals.
"there's the Arctic biome hinting at a possible expansion"
Subnautica devs: WRITE THAT DOWN, WRITE THAT DOWN!
i love the way you use sound effects on your voice to create the same atmosphere as in the game
never seen this channel until now, i love the unique attention to detail of sounds in echoey areas or under water. good job my man
I love your subtle audio editing
Thank you! Should I do it more often?
*MAI MIND IS BLOWN* No but seriously my head hurts now...
Jotaro Kujo looks like killer queen got to ya
Eh, I believe it. The lifepod jettisoning and aurora getting shot is all done with a big 2d picture moving around in the sky to make it seem like the lifepod is moving.
The crunch of that cookie is awesome
You could call it an *awesome crunch*
Fun fact : If you can see a part of one of the islands in the cockpit when you launch, you will see it even in space.
That's what happened to me, and that's how I understood how this ending was made.
I saw the black skybox when I accidentally clipped through one of the walls of the Aurora in survival. I was terrified
As someone who wants to develop games in the future as a hobby or even a potential job, the fact that a major game developer used these techniques makes me feel so much better about what i can do. Because from the outside looking in (or in this case the inside looking out) it legitimately seems like the ship launched. But to know that its all just effects and a result of locking the player's view is mind blowing. I imagine there are so many games that do this sort of thing but for different reasons.
5:49 well here we are one year later.......
“We’re still on the planet?”
“Always were.”
You can check out any time you like,
BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE
This is actually a very old technique, commonly used in flight sims or other games taking place in very large environments. Originally it was a limitation of the system architectures, 16 or 32 bit. In a game like Wolfenstein-3D or Doom, with maps maybe a few hundred 'meters' across, even just 16 bits of floating point precision could accurately locate a spot down to a centimeter or so. But when you have maps spanning dozens or hundreds of kilometers, suddenly you current location is a fuzzy field of uncertainty meters in radius. Not so bad when you're flying high in the air, but it would mean that you might not be able to actually rest on the ground, only be slightly above or below it. So one trick devs used was to have the player remain stationary and an environment mocked up to look much larger than it really was just moved around them instead. This worked, but had the downside of making multiplayer impossible because there can only be one center of the universe.
Fortunately, 64-bit architectures have rendered the issue moot. Floating point numbers 64-bits wide are just crazy-stupid precise. Microsoft's upcoming flight sim, which aims to recreate the entire planet, can do so at a resolution of micrometers.
My man, the attention to detail you put is commendable, I can hear your voice echo when you are inside the facility.
Those damn birds. THEY'RE INDESTRUCTIBLE!!! Even the devs could only freeze them.
Without the "behind the scenes magic" this ending scene is quite emotional. If you think about it this what happens: you have been stuck and abandoned on a planet full of fear and death but with your mind and wits you overcome that fear and manage to leave the planet... idk why I overlook things ._.'
This comment sädeserved an like... UNTIL you said Idk why I overlook things
Hadrian Smith and not once did u shower, poop, or pee. Logic.
@@seraphine2019 Your character rests and does all that stuff when you have the game closed
Also, you probably are pissing yourself in the ocean all the time, and why would you shower when you spend most of your time in water
@@Freezorgium I piss and shit myself while in an exam, so probably a similar experience lol
Canon ending: The survivor didn't make a functioning rocket but instead, made a VR simulation to escape his delusion
WOW! my mind just blowed up! So genius way of making an excelent "cutscene" BRAVO devs, and of course thanks to you for showing it to us
that's incredible thx bro
they dont want to add a new map in the sky and a planet view cause it would be too strong i think so its possible thats the reason but rlly thx for this video +1 like
This is something that would've happened in a Mission Impossible episode 😂😂
I've never felt so lied to before
Random Stupid theory :
You are just day dreaming of flying the rocket and went into a coma and get high and ended up in space.... xD
The intro was very strange on this one, love u dude😂👌
plot twist: the ending makes the script bug making space come to you
I saw the boat fell and I still saw the water and the sky was just the sceane
I like how you added reverb when you were in the facility! Nice little touch
If you watch boundary break and others similar you'll notice this is actually more common than you think
Where Boys Cried: *leaving the planet*
Where Men Cried: *saying goodbye to the cuddlefish*
We have found what was in the void... it was another planet... *Intro music* HEY GUYS IT'S [UA-camr Name] HERE WITH ANOTHER SUBNAUTICA VIDEO!!!
Very cool, I had been wondering how they got the end scene so smooth and transition-less. Thanks.
0:35 Neat how you added the echo for the Precursor base :3
when you make a game, its is not like you gonna make a true to reality world. you make something that works for the engine.
Plot twist! Riley never made it back home and she’s stuck on that planet forever because that spaceship is just for creating illusions.
Macayle Angelina riley robinson is a guy
Subnautica, you can NEVER EVER escape
Yeah, I legitametly thought it took off... but this is GENIUS.
I found this out myself by glitching the rocket sideways and then launching lol
Bro was right about the arctic biome hinting something
The reason for this is because it would of been a hassle to make so they just made those effects to save time
Who else is watching this when below zero was put on early access
Hi Awesomecrunch I just wanted to let you know I got your time capsule, and just wanted to say yeah my whole survival thing is working out.
Dayne Dellaire haha great
very cool but i hate how people actually think that the rocket cannonicaly didnt launch
a massive planet inside a planet, woah technology
The ship: got stuck
Aliens up top: ay bro watch yo jet whatch you jet wut yo jet!!!!!
Planet: You're never leaving...
How amazing, that your voice fits into the ingame environment every time! :D
Everyone it would take longer for subnautica to release if they made space and you actually in it!
If you look just before you warp he looks at zero sector (subnautica below zero area)
They keep the rocket on the pad because because they thought no one would freecam during this
I love the echo he added in when hes inside the gun
lol I expected this to be how they did it but it's still neat to see. I've got some unanswered questions with respect to how they generated the entities since there's a ton of different ways they could have done it that have different implications for what the engine's capable of - but that's a totes diff dealy.
I love how he launches before the Aurora has exploded 😂😂😂
when landing on a deserted alien planet is a minor inconvenience
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
It's like attraction thing,it's like TV screen lmao
This is why it says you will be given permission to land at the nearest fase gate once you have established your debt of 10 trillion credits
I love the way you use voice changes
I like it how your voice echos whilst your inside of the gun facility thing.
Glad you liked it!
I always kinda thought that the player died in space
Because the Emporer said "but we go together"
Thay some smart devs
maybe that's the reason behind the massive credit, which is measured by the resourced gathered. the MF took the whole planet home!
That’s actually pretty smart
That's really strange but cool and I guess it saved time for the devs
It's actually kinda sad, ryley doesn't get to leave the planet.
Expansion :CONFIRMED!
I will never be able to unsee this :(
i once saw a video about what if you launch the rocked from under a building. then i realised the rocked isn't actually moving because the building (platform tube anything) was in the glitching from the tube
I have appreciated this game from day 1 no matter what the outcome was. There is no game even remotely like this!. I have owned this game for about a year and only just completed it now because I didn't want to come to the end!
I seem to remember a loading screen when I hit launch and I thought it was a cinematic loading. What could it have been or am I just remembering wrong
Maybe a hint to a future DLC , but nothing is confirmed.
Delevopers-Chuckle
Oh, I think if you enter the command "forcerocketready", you don't have to turn on every system thingy, because you forgot to do the time capsule, but was able to launch it
That's probably the reason they never implemented a multiplayer feature in this game.
Imagine your comrade triggers the ending prematurely...
He is like: "Sorry pal, but look I'm in space. It's freakin awesome."
You looking at the rocket: 👁👄👁
So in a way we never did leave the planet.
Also those islands are huge, and where there more or was it the same two
you predicted the arctic biome game thing
The final it s true: the creators decided to create the animations on the Planet because Is more easy than in space
hey, your voice inside that facility had an echo to it,nice edit man xD
edit:noticed that effect before noticing the comment
ive seen many other games do similar stuff were only the thing changing is the area around the players head and such , fallout 3 for example the train ride.
i guessed that this was how it works and it kinda makes me sad knowing that you actually never leave the planet :I
That’s so cool!!!
plot twist: it’s the precursors
