With a total of 780 seconds of air would it not be simpler to go out the blood kelp exit? Also you didn’t need the acid mushrooms because your scanner had a battery in it
Yeah, but there's an issue there: they wouldnt have been able to craft the battery for the scanner either, so they likely just didnt use it to follow the rules of the challenge as good as possible.
Yeah I would’ve done the Blood Kelp entrance I’m really familiar with that one. Also the ghost leviathan at the beginning of blood kelp entrance’s lost River, is pretty chill and if you stay on left side it won’t bother you
@@weirdgamer9566 there wasn’t any rules saying he couldn’t take it out though and it was at full charge. When he’s looking at the things he has to work with he goes over the scanner and it says 100% so there was one there
@@BLEHBLEHBOIISCOOL you can take a battery out of your other equipment and use it to craft other tools that need it. In fact you could use a completely dead battery and your tool would register 100% charged after being crafted. Although they fixed this in below zero so I’m not sure if this still works today
My forgotten river story. I just got my cyclops into the lost river, I was super nervous and put on silent running mode without knowing how it killed the power cells. Well, I do some exploring with my prawn for a bit and when I get back my cyclops is completely dead, my prawn is at 25% and I'm freaking out. I ended up making an entire makeship base just to recharge all of my batteries and damn it was the most stressful thing lol. Got out tho!
Same thing happened to me on my first playthrough lmao On my second playthrough now, and I decided to just not make a cyclops at all... Not worth the hassle imo

@@mattia0063 u can find fragments in the aurora, on underwater islands and in some shipwrecks located in grassy plateaus and again in underwater island shipwrecks sorry for being late
now if im correct: you actually have an additional 10 seconds for your screen to fade to black everytime you run out of oxygen, so you actually have 25 seconds with each bladder fish taking some time out, lets be generous and remove 5 seconds, multiply by 37, you effectively got an additional 185 seconds additional calculation: your high cap tank takes 6 slots and give 90s oxygen (95 with fade-out time), but 6 bladder fish also give 90 seconds, combining it with the additional time you get from fade-out (effectively 30s from 6 fish), you actually get 120 seconds from bladder fish which is 35 seconds more than high cap tank also the entire trip to go get the battery and return may have been over half the way if you used blood-kept exit, and that much only took half your bladders, so if you just filled your inventory with them you might have escaped a lot faster removing your dive suit would also help you swim faster and save some time (as reinforced suit have a ~1 m/s penalty) experiment from free play mode: -it takes 3:44:56 (224,56 seconds) for me to reach the surface from the moment i exited the compartment using blood kept route with ultra glide fins... i seem to forgot to calculate with air tank speed penalty but speed loss from it is insignificant as you still have a shit load of time with 43 bladder -if you have 43 bladder fish, that means you have 645 seconds of air, and a total of additional 215 seconds of fade-out time between each use, you have effective total of 860 seconds to leave -trade off from this route is that you will have to evade the amp eels and those pesky fish in the cave entrance (bad luck if you have the crab squid)

should be quite easy, (but so was that challenge) just go to the thermal plant, turn portal on with the ion cube it provides, and use it to go to the enforcement facility. while there, feel free to grab some purple tablets, and go back to complete the game for extra kudos

Not sure using the reinforced suit during the super long travel for the acid mushrooms was the smartest because it decreases speed and probably you might not have needed nearly as many bladderfish to complete it. That being said, there was a battery in the scanner...

Now with Living Large, air bladders are an oxygen refill that replenish automatically in air, without need to manually refill tanks or to catch more fish. But you'd need silicone rubber, which means creepvine, and I don't think there's any of that in the Lost River. Maybe you could start yourself with a seed cluster and plant it in a grow bed?
it's kinda weird that shale seems to cycle through it's potential drops instead of picking one randomly like the other breakable rocks edit: oh weird, it's not doing that for him. maybe my game was just bugged or something

Dude it’s been a long time since I’ve watched your subnautica vids and I’ve gotta say you’ve aged well my guy. Last time I was here you sounded like you were a lot younger.
The fact that I know so much about the game compared someone who has been making videos about it for 2 years as opposed to my owning it for 1 year and not even playing it for half of that really shows how much I abused the wiki.
You lose 4 water every time you eat a bladder fish, and bladderfish water(yes that's what I call it) you get 20 water, so you need to turn in 1/6 of your water into bottles, that would be a huge problem, but you have a better chance on making it there.

I had to do the reverse once when I died in my prawn down there. Had to repeatedly build stuff and die and respawn in the new base (no oxygen in base but I respawn anyway) until I reached my prawn where I had to get out of the cave on like 40% power cells. Very very stressful but I got out
I remember when his voice was pretty high pitched when I first watched him. I guess you'd say he was a squeaker, no pun intended. But damn, has he grown fast.
You could of made an *air bladder* they can be a good escape if you get seen by a river prowler AND they *can give 15 air to without sacrificing food or water* and *they are refillable then u go back into your base* Anyway its a good tool early game when u start exploring deeper place like the mushroom forest when you don't have a seamoth yet!

Gotta be honest the lost river looks a lot less scary when you start there, instead of a long, uneasy and scary journey there
It's not that scary my first play through that I got there I just full sent it and it wasn't scary I reached the lava zone in 4 hours of playtime

Hey speedy I wanted to tell you this. You could’ve went into the facility to refill your O2 tanks
The facility in the Lost River doesn't have any oxygen I could have refilled with unfortunately.

Once oxygen reaches 0, you get additional "free" time where no oxygen is consumed, making each bladder fish closer to 18 seconds rather than 15.

Saw you struggling with food/water, You can infinitly split a gelsac of you pick it up before the 3rd hit off one gelsac and a growing bed

You could of made an *air bladder* they can be a good escape if you get seen by a river prowler AND they *can give 15 air to without sacrificing food or water* and *they are refillable then u go back into your base*
Anyway its a good tool early game when u start exploring deeper place like the mushroom forest when you don't have a seamoth yet!
