I remember reading that the lance requires more training than a sword for cavalry and you can really see that from these moves. To have someone swinging a lance in a melee would require a lot of room and seem impractical unless it was in a very open order and separated from comrades, otherwise the risk of striking a fellow rider would be great I would think.
Yes and yes. If you can use this techniques depends on the situation, of course you need enough space around you. If there are multiple opponents around you and your spear stucks in one of them, you are in troubble...To win a fight, you should be able to do the unsuspected! Of course I prefer the thrust, too, but somtimes I like to hit my opponents. And these are no medieval european lance-techniques!
Thank you for the video! I cant wait to see more and more videos from you! This channel is exactly what I have been wanting to see on youtube for quite sometime!
Sir, it seems alot of of the swings are wasting so much power before they hit anything and when they hit probably won`t do much of damage, if at all. I think its due to both immature techniques and no modification on the spear in term of weight and length.
in tang dynasty,Chinese horseman often use a very long spear with terrible injure which it call “shuo”.it is about 4-5 meters long, some famous hero, like YuChijingde、Chengzhijie.they were good at using the“shuo”.
Thank you for the information. The european, medieval, knightly lance where 3,5 to 5m long, and the late roman "sarissa", used by the cataphracts (heavy armored cavalry) where 4 to 5 meters long, too, and used with both hands.

Thank you. I wanted those videos, too. And so, I make them by my own. xDThe next is in progress.
Would love to see some spear techniques without shields, in mounted combat. Your ones with shields were very nice.
My mistake, I missed the video that already shows this, against a footman. The technique would be nice to see between two horsemen.
Great video
