I'd be happy to have a chat with you about the approach. I've made some harsh videos in the past that I still believe, but am more open to having a deeper discussion that isn't (any more) contentious (than it needs to be)...
I just hosted Greg Souders yesterday. The episode will drop 7/16. I think everyone will enjoy it. We talked for around 100 minutes about ecological dynamics
It is not positional sparring. And I'm utterly amazed you haven't had anyone on to talk about this. Let's see, potential guests. Obviously Greg Souders. Rob Cole. Kabir Bath. Ed Ingamells. Kyvaan from Bodega. Others that are adopting it are Priit Mikhelson and Chris Paines. Perhaps Charles Hariott too. It's definitely infiltrating BJJ Globetrotters. Elbows Tight has had a few people talk about it so ask him. I think Forever Whitebelt has too. The stuff out there is hit or miss. Greg's interviews are confrontational many times. Because people want to argue and say uninformed things like, "it's just positional sparring with big words." Kabir or Rob would be the interview I'd want to see most.
I've considered it multiple times. In fact, many of the considered guests are the ones you mentioned. Primarily Greg Souders. I just go back on forth on If it intrigures me enough to warrant a full episode. I can appreciate nuanced approaches to old tactics, especially coming from the strength/conditioning/coaching world, but sometimes I feel like we get to a point where parts of the wheel are being reinvented when they don't need to be. I'm yet to come across a compelling argument, based on research or performance outcomes (competition, mma bouts, etc) for the implementation of ecological jiu jitsu. But it's on a back burner until I decide
@MaynIdea what research have you done on it? Like Ed Ingamells pointed out on White Basement Podcast, this is the direction psychology and human performance has already been moving towards and adopting for several years. The infiltration into team sports was already in motion and now it's finally made it's way into solo sports like BJJ. As I coach I'll be moving into it fully. Makes logical sense. Especially as I move towards opening an academy. Many are going to wait and see like they did for a decade with Eddie Bravo. What was the wait with Danaher? Half that. Spread of information has sped up so first mover advantage may fade faster than before. As you know, the methods and techniques in strength and conditioning have a tendency to precede scientific study by a solid decade. Besides, it's a popular subject right now. Gets solid views from the BJJ community.
@MaynIdea haha. No pressure! He's been getting better on podcasts so I hope he is on good behavior and makes you want to have more Eco guys on. In his defense, he's taken a lot of undeserved crap.
Glad you had Greg on. Is it possible to talk to eco people before we ask randos who admittedly don't know about it to analyze it?

Do ecological jiu-jitsu practitioners drive 🚗 electric cars to their jiu-jitsu practice!!!
MAKE STRIKING GREAT AGAIN!!!
It is not positional sparring with parameters its far more than that.
I just had an hour 30 conversation with Greg Souders yesterday. It drops 7/16. I think you'll dig it
You were born literally one day before me. But you have better hair.
This dude is tough to listen to.
I applaud your attempt though :)
Clueless.
Greg Souders will be on next week to clear things up
@@MaynIdea Sick. Good choice. He's pretentious but there is substance. Don't let that throw you off.
@@thos1618 Yea I'm pretty hyped to have him on.
