HISTORIC MOMENT: Live Exports have been BANNED form Britain
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 тра 2024
- We protested at ports, outside parliament and across the country.
We released undercover investigations to highlight the horror of live exports.
We signed petitions, contacted policy makers and most importantly never gave up.
And now, after decades of campaigning, we’ve banned this cruel trade!

I just cried watching this video. I wasn't expecting that. All the effort for decades for this to stop some suffering for our gentle friends.
Me too 😢

The only other thing we can do is become vegan and stop them being slaughtered here.

Having been a supporter for 40 years during which time it sometimes seemed like a hopeless battle, I needed this news to renew my faith in people power! Thank you to all at CIWF for continuing the fight to this huge victory!
we wouldn't be here without the ongoing support of people like you!
Amazing news. But the fight goes on against factory farming. For the animals always ❤🐑🐄🐖🐶🐰🐀🐎🐣🐓🐟🐙🦀🐝

15.50 Yaay! What absolutely fabulous news!! I'm overjoyed😂.
Me too 😁
This is just wonderful news. I'm so proud of everyone who was a part of this campaign.
And for it opening my eyes whilst protesting at Dover and turning me into a commited vegetarian.
Yes, in memory of Jill Phipps and also all those animals who passed through our ports.
So so proud and grateful to everyone in involved - including you Wendy! Holding Jill and all of the animals in our thoughts today. 💚
great result
Well done everyone involved! If we all stand together we can make the changes that are so desperately needed. Let's hope that one day people see that animals are not here for our food consumption.
I've had climate activists talk to me about how to stop the continuation of climate change and then pull out a meat pasty... Duh! It's a shame and sad for the animals. People turn their stomachs into a graveyard just for the sake of the taste of flesh. I am this body and I eat bodies. Blinded by illusion. Again, well done to everyone involved

Finally !! 🎉
With tears in my eyes I am beyond ecstatic at this outcome.50 years and you/we never gave up BRILLIANT.
Yes🎉🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic news unnecessary cruelty x
I hope that more countries will follow this example!
Well done! Many of these luckless creatures were transhipped onwards to Muslim countries for festivals such as Eid so this will come to an end too. I can only hope this British Ban on Live Exports ripples around the world and that Australia, New Zealand and Sount Africa will follow suit. My late mother woiuld have been delighted - she protested right back to the 1960's when she watched pigs being unloaded from Northern Ireland at Liverpool Docks on the "Slieve Bloom" - an evil vessel. Two sows suffered broken legs on the gangway and were unable to get up - the workers simply kept on beating them and beating them with walking sticks until my mother persuaded a policeman to send for a vet. She was also horrified to see catlle being swung out by crane in cargo nets to be loaded on an outward bound ship - the poor things must have been terrified.
I wish I hadn't read that😭 it's nightmarish and I won't be able to get it out of my mind now, animals endure unbelievable suffering and cruelty😓
@bealine99 Blessings to your mum for taking action at a time when awareness and compassion on this issue was minimal .
I'm also thrilled that this has now been banned. Especially as the animals would've been slaughtered without stunning to 'fulfill' the Halal rules. However, many farmers in Britain and around the world, rely on the Halal trade to make their farm at all profitable - the supermarkets screw them so 'we' can have cheap food..... WE need to budget for more expensive meat, and not complain about the cost of it if this campaign is to have any meaning.....
My thoughts echoed exactly. I just wish we could work more on religious slaughter here. It is a truly sick practice at direct odds with our country and our values.
I agree, this shouldn't be allowed to happen in our country...we all know why we let them get away with it though and it's not right or fair 😢@@andyroid7339
I am so pleased.i support compassion in farming with a small donation each month.I do hope this law isn't broken.
Well done everyone! Here in Canada, we are also fighting to get long distance transport removed.
Well done everyone great news
Finally! Not a dry eye in the house!
At last. We thought it would never happen. R.I.P all the animals that have lost their lives whilst being transported and slaughtered in countries where their animal rights are even worse than ours. #govegan
Was at Coventry 7 months,,,,and with Jill when she was killed,,,,,Not before time,,great news
Jill is in our thoughts today especially. Thank you so much for all you've done to protest against this abhorrent trade, Pam. We wouldn't be here without people like you.
This is truly wonderful news, cannot believe after so many years, thus barbaric trade has finally ended
I think we should all celebrate!!
❤ About time! Wonderful news. Well done CIWF team of staff and supporters past and present and with thoughts of those that campaigned and believed it had to happen but never saw this day. ❤
Made me cry with pure joy! ❤
Well done!
At last the powers that be have finally listened to the people. People power works. Thank you CIWF and all us supporters. Wonderful news. Now we have to ban factory farming and all those dreadful farmers living off the backs of animals for greed and profit.
Well done everyone concerned. It’s about time we cared for all animals, wild and domestic as we would wish to be treated ourselves.
Can't tell you how happy this news has made me. As a supporter, I know how CIWF has worked relentlessly on this and finally it has all paid off. Thank you so so much👏

Beautiful
Only possible outside the European Union.
Biggest hugs and congratulations to Compassion in World Farming for your unrelenting work on this. I am so delighted to hear this news. I feel it may be a breakthrough.l and hopefully it will be the start of a cascade. I've supported you every month since I first discovered you in 2011 and so proud to have done so. Bravissimos to all your team🎉
So delighted and surprised at this news! Not often a campaign like this succeeds, so huge congratulations to everyone involved..
Does this apply with immediate effect?
It should be imminently! There are just a few formalities, it need to have Royal Assent and be enacted but we're expecting this very soon.
Hopefully, the more said the further it will go, don't do to anything that you wouldn't do to yourself or anyone around you that you love❤ like us creatures have feelings and know pain and fear. Only thay cannot tell us! What if they could how would you feel then ?❤❤❤❤❤
🥳🥳🥳
❤👍
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻
Paradise is vegan. Love doesn't murder.
🎉👏👏👏💚🌱💯
FAB well dune
This long overdue ban is, of course, only possible because the UK voted to leave the EU and its Single Market with the attendant free movement of "goods". As a result, thanks must be given to the 17.4 million Britons who made the progressive and radical choice to regain the sovereignty of their Parliament, thus ensuring that this progressive and radical ban can come into force.
However, we must never forget that this ban will not be permanent if the UK rejoins the Single Market, or, indeed, the EU itself.
I wonder how many people realise this ban is only possible outside the EU? And how many people on Thursday will vote to restart this awful trade with a vote for Labour, Limp Dems, SNP or Green.
@@jameswoollard84 Indeed, it is very worrying. Of course, many who do effectively vote for the re-commencement if this vile trade at some point in the future will not know what they are voting for. However, many of them - including politicians from such Parties, including those who are members and supporters of CIWF - know exactly what they are doing.
So why did I not hear this on the BBC??? Distorting the narrative as usual?
Fanbloodytastic…
