The majority of job opportunities sit squarely in hospitality (which are seasonal, and therefore attract the aforementioned college students, so you're competing with them,) or care work, which you've really got to be cut out for. Not many industry or 'professional' type career opportunities down there, so most young adults end up leaving the town to get better jobs in other parts of the country. And now you have the problem of 'Holiday Commuters' pushing up the house prices, because these people on six-figure salaries in London buy property down there for 'weekend getaways,' which pushes up the house prices and means the locals who grew up there now can't afford to buy a house *in their own town.* Meanwhile, the economy also slows down because all these Holiday Commuters have bought up all the decent houses but are hardly ever there to use the shops and local businesses, so they make less money.

It depends where in Wolverhampton. You have got really lovely places. Unfortunately the city centre is a disgrace. It has so much potential though. People are overall friendly. People make a place :) Let's not judge people by the cover sometimes.
@@rabiattoyin3113 You have got lovely places like Wightick Manor, Bantock Park, Penn, a theatre, an art Gallery ( it is not Paris or London of course but it is quite pleasant), Saint Peter Church, an hospital etc. Not far from Wolverhampton, you can take a bus to visit the Walsall Gallery ( free of charge) with paintings from Delacroix, Picasso, Gaugin, Matisse etc It is clean, spacious with a souvenir shop with a cafe near by. Wolverhampton It is about 20 minutes by train from Birmingham, you can take the tramway if you prefer ( it s a bit bit cheaper than the train). As Wolverhampton is in the Midlands, you have got easy access to Telford, Stafford, Shrewsbury, London, Manchester, Nottingham etc. The city is surrounded by lovely villages like Albrighton, Bilbrook etc : easy access by bus and trains. You have got also two big parks: East Park and West Park. Both being a short distance from the city centre. A cinema : the Lighthouse with regular Meetups and an excellent selection of films, cultural meetings etc. The city centre is a bit of a disgrace like many cities in England but there is potential and things are getting better. I heard it used to be a much better place ( a long time ago) with House of Fraser which closed a couple of years ago. The city centre is not the poshest place on hearth but people are usually friendly and helpful ( never had any problems). There is a Mark and Spencer, a Sainsbury ( a bit far from the city center though), and some regular shops you usually find in any city in the UK. There is a tramway from the city which goes to Birmingham as well.

Wolverhampton is officially listed everywhere as one of the most violent, dead end places to live in the UK. It’s also highly ‘multicultural’ meaning you have all of the segregated and opposing communities and associated difficulties that come with medieval religion. Terrible place.
Well put. I live in the better end of town. But it's cheap to buy a house and excellent for getting to work in neighbouring areas of Britain. The only really well paid jobs are the doctors there and they take up most of the new wealth. Unfortunately what's happening is these jobs are now being filled by nice law abiding people from around the world. But they are the nicer bunch. But affluence is now being passed to foreign nationals. The private schools are full of foreign nationals children. I know this for a fact.

You can make a video and put your city at first😂
Plymouth?
Hey 👋 Maidstone Kent is good place to live in??
We all know that Slough is better than Swindon, David Brent proved that when the Swindon lot transferred after their office was shut.
Slough is a bad place to live 😂😂😂
Completely disagree, Oxford one of the most expensive places to live unless you are wealthy. Perhaps share the data with us.
Similarly Edinburgh. Not a clue where they got the accommodation figure from but to get somewhere decent you're almost at London prices
I noticed they didn’t mention the average Salary for Oxford. Just an Aussie observer here who stumbled on this video. Good to read the comments.
I live in Oxford and it’s fucking extortionate on the rent. Looking at £1400 a month RENT for a two bed in a shitty part of the city - don’t believe this guy, it’s all bollocks. I’ll be swift getting the fuck out of here soon
Swindon lol lol
Swindon was the first town I ever visited where walking down the high street I literally forgot where I was it was so indistinctive.
you're having a laugh putting Swindon 1st, might as well have said slough or Scunthrope lol
I'm from glasgow. It's got lots of concert venues. And people enjoy socialising at the theatre or the cinema or even see your favourite bands at a concert venue of your choice
Most underrated city in my opinion as well. Found myself in love with Glasgow over the summer. It's for sure got a really bad name but my visit dismissed what everyone says about it.
Have you visited Shettleston, Govanhill or Hope Street lately? Absolute dumps.
The weather… it’s the gloomy grey weather. Scotland would be perfect with more sun
Very easy to get into Swindon but the roads are jammed going the other way.
Nice video 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Swindon, Wolverhampton are a bit dodgy on there!
It depends where in Wolverhampton. You have got really lovely places. Unfortunately the city centre is a disgrace. It has so much potential though. People are overall friendly. People make a place :) Let's not judge people by the cover sometimes.
Swindon is infested with beggars
@@helenefrench4275 please what is all about Wolverhampton? I just got admission into the school and preparing to relocate
The city centre is not the poshest place on hearth but
people are usually friendly and helpful ( never had any problems). There is a Mark and Spencer, a Sainsbury ( a bit far from the city center though), and some regular shops you usually find in any city in the UK. There is a tramway from the city which goes to Birmingham as well.
I went to Edinburgh it rained all day long. Visited Oxford, Cambridge.
Hello 👋
Beverley, East Yorkshire. A beautiful Georgian market town with a race course and a medieval minster.
Yes it's lovely
I liked Beverly when I visited a few years ago. But it's dangerously overshadowed by its ugly nemesis Hull.
Also one of the best pubs in England. The White Horse aka Nelly's!
When did Swindon become a city? I must have missed that moment!
You are right !! it never did and never will... they tried but FAILED !!!
😅
Lol, I thought that and the average wages are not £38,000 per month either!
They don't know what they are talking about, he even says "the best city in the UK, this large town..." Duh!
My top 5 as a young person: Manchester, Bristol, London, Edinburgh, Birmingham
Manchester no1.... 👍
Birmingham’s a shit hole 😂
@@11989matthew no it's not it's alot better now they are spending money on it, Manchester is a shit hole it's like going back 50 years
Agree with your list, but I would replace Manchester with Cardiff (I'm not Welsh!)
You're right 😁😁
My favourite is Sheffield, it feels very safe, excellent center, for someone into professional recreational facilities.
You have to be kidding me. It's the lowest paid jobs in England for a city. It's dirty, smelly horrible and they don't speak English it's a grimey place...oh!!!! and dog 💩 all over the place, don't look up when walking.....
Glasgow!? Wolverhampton!? Has this guy ever been to these places? Or anywhere in Great Britain?
Exactly😂
He put Swindon at number 1. I think the answer is no, he hasn’t
Have you ever been to any of these places ?
@@shoehaven1 I've been to most the towns of the UK as a delivery driver. I've lived in a few different towns and had girlfriends in others, visited relatives in Wales and Yorkshire. I've been around
@@DavidlLewJones So you have based you experience on loading bays…🤣🤣
I wouldn’t live in Glasgow unless I had a platoon of the SAS to ferry me around at night.
I’ve heard bad story’s of friends getting in bad situations on nights out for not being Scottish
@Ima Rebel And I've heard that it's Stories.
Glasgow has totally changed over the past few years. You can safely go out for a night in the city and come to no harm. It's a far cry from it's 'No Mean City' days
@@11989matthew I went to Glasgow last September for my birthday and had a great time. No problems with the locals. I'm Welsh btw.
Swindon one up from JAYWICK FFS
It's very good video!
I know a lot of these, have lived in some, my all time favourite town in the world actually is Penzance in Cornwall
Oh, yes...and mine. All along that coast is absolutely beautiful.
People from st Ives call Penzance the drug town of the area lol
@@bendover2865 not when I lived there.
@@helenndow1101 you’re obviously not from there then are you love
@@bendover2865 no, but I lived.there for about 10 years in the nineteenth and seen or heard nothing about drugs, unlike where I live now, in Manchester.
Thanks for the informative video. Like all Brits, I'm hoping for that lotto jackpot, in order to finance my dream move to Wolverhampton or Swindon...
I Live in LONDON & VERY VERY HAPPY, THANK YOU!!!
I am coming soon to London too
Oxford is a good place to live. I live in London but I’v visited before and it’s actually a nice place
My top four places Oxford Cambridge Glasgow Edinburgh all have great architecture and vibrent areas to stay and nice green parks
Oxford and Cambridge
Really Informative.John
After moving to Scotland from England with my parents a few years ago, it has been a struggle to settle in, more so for personal reasons, but I live about an hour away from Edinburgh and after going a few times it's my favourite city in the UK currently. There's plenty of attractions and shops and the place has such a charm about it.
It is a lovely city
Hear hear. Live West of Glasgow, been to Glasgow a few times, can't love it.
Went to Edinburgh the 1st time during COVID restrictions. Was amazing even with that caveat in place.
Literally one of the best cities in the UK.
Moved from Scotland to England but can’t beat Edinburgh. Great during the day and amazing at night for a good drink
Am fae Leith and it's shite
@@Spac3Potat0 😂😂😂
Wonderful piss take , woverhampton and Swindon 😀
Swindon and Wolverhampton??? Best laugh I've had in a long while
It’s great that York has the wall to protect life and property. Presumably the main concern is time-travelling Vikings?
Cheltenham Spa is Wonderful and neighbouring City of Gloucester. Is on The up and up!!!!!
I live in East Yorkshire and it's the best!
Thanks for the laugh at the end. Swindon is surrounded by beautiful places but that's it. Everyone leaves swindon to shop as the town centre is desolate with only shops like the Pound Shop and Primark - could have been better but the Council don't like making improvements.
We lived in Plymouth 50yrs ago. Argyll and Sutherlanders were billeted there. Best place on earth to live at the time. Not to mention the safest. We lived in a house called 'Sungates'.
Wolverhampton? At that point, I switched off.
😂😂😂
Reading your comment I decided not even to start watching it .
@@Marvin-dg8vj Very wise mate. It was painful!!
10. Plymouth
9. Salisbury
8. Glasgow
7. Cambridge
Wolverhampton is officially listed everywhere as one of the most violent, dead end places to live in the UK. It’s also highly ‘multicultural’ meaning you have all of the segregated and opposing communities and associated difficulties that come with medieval religion. Terrible place.
I hate Islam as well
Loved it!
Expect Mrs Jovial is legit and her method works like magic I keep on earning every single week with her new strategy
Wow I'm just shock someone mentioned expert Mrs Jovial thought I' m the only one trading with her

I’m from Wolverhampton id recommend Heath town, whitmore reans, all saints, bilston, willenhall, Blakenhall, parkfield and eastfield and bushbury
Hello, please can you shed more light on why you would recommend Willenhall as a good place to live in Wolverhampton?
How about Chatham Kent ? I spent some valuable time there and found good and best place. Any views ?
Wolverhampton 🤣🤣🤣 I used to live just outside Wolverhampton, and worked in it, and it's an absolute dive!!!!
Yeah this man’s trying to get people faded
Yup went there last year after several decades -I was shocked!
Congratulations for your national holiday on 21st April Great Britain from your friends in Germany

We loved our stay in Germany recently, so friendly and lots to see

Wolverhampton and Swindon? Put the meth pipe down and show someone sensible your script before committing it to the internet. They may help you correct your grammatical errors too.
😂😂👍🏼
It may correct there grammar the people who never visited Wolverhampton we nice people not arrogant 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁also very funnny
Richmond, North Yorkshire, Lake District or snowdonia.
Add Lewes in Sussex to your list.
An interesting list but for me number one is Norwich for history, low crime and the feeling you are in a confident 'capital' city- with two universities, two cathedrals, a castle, one of the oldest and biggest markets in the UK and a young friendly vibrant population, Norwich is the best!
Until Colman’s Mustard moved out of Norwich, they will go down.
@@swaldron5558 you think?! Norwich is doing just fine 😁😜🎉
@Ima Rebel haha! Jealousy is a terrible thing😂
@Ima Rebel in your case then ignorance is bliss?
@Ima Rebel Yep, that’s Normal for Norfolk!
Despite Swindon long being home to one of my favorite bands, XTC, a true challenge of living there would be dealing on a daily basis with all the nerve-racking roundabouts, even mini-roundabouts nestled within larger round-abouts.
One of mine too! ❤️
There are some respectable streets in Swindon
No idea where you got these towns from but Swindon as No.1 your having a wind up!!!!!!
Thanks
When I saw Swindon as the No. 1 choice, all I could do was laugh...with Jon Richardson!!!
Hello 👋 Michele
Nice video.
Thanks for Sharing.
who told them there was no crime in Plymouth, They obviously haven't picked up a paper ever. Also I definitely wouldn't put Wolverhampton on this list while it is not the worst place I have been its definitely not one of the best either.
Wolverhampton isn't great, but neighbouring Walsall makes it look like Monte Carlo.
I can agree on Oxford, Cambridge, Plymouth and York. I won't pick on any of the other six.
I don’t trust this video because i’m from Glasgow and yes it’s a good place to live with the food scene so large and friendly people - but the salary average is £29K? Seems a bit high
Nice video tnx for sharing
Wolverhampton??? oh my days!!!
Wolverhampton isn't that bad it's up and coming it's bad days has gone blame London for the rest of the country cities can only be of you given money money don't grow on trees 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

You can't blame London in why Wolverhampton don't have money money money. I'm glad that Wolverhampton bad days are gone but it still isn't nice but hey at least Wolves are playing well in the Premier League - that is a plus factor lol
