I am a simple man. I hear death metal, i like. Thanks for the videos jason! All riffs are pretty sick, but the third one did it for me the most, because of the usage of the high strings!
@@alecsmith5150 I have a TON! Just look at my playlists and you’ll see rhythm guitar tutorials and 7 string. Also, riff 2 in my free practice guide has some cool and different chords: www.jasonstallworth.com/guitarist/
Thanks for these videos mate, really helping me learn new techniques and improve my skills. I play these on my Jackson 8 string and loved playing the second riff, not sure what the hardest one is for me yet. If you ever get an 8 string guitar I’d love to see your lessons on that to. Cheers again 🤘
Great video Jason, I'm also GLAD to hear you say about branching out more, although I have to work upon that I admit, but I love to dip my toe into lots of other stuff particularly older music in various sounds. Keep up the good work. Horns Up................ \\m//w\\m//
ThrasHeavy Rhythm Yeah dude, I was not too open to other genres in my younger years. If it wasn’t metal, I wasn’t interested (although I’ve always been an 80s fan, even some pop). And believe it or not, I also played in churches way back in the day and growing up. It wasn’t my preferred style but learning different songs and playing on different keys (specifically songs that were written more for piano) really helped me learn the fretboard better. So yeah, let’s make 2020 a year of expansion!
@@jasonstallworth I learned about my favourite band's influences, when they mentioned certain artists that at first seemed a surprise to me, I learned about punk rock as the raw aggression in extreme metal, blues helped me begin lead guitar, then individually certain bands mentioned artists that intrigued me, then there's 1970s prog rock, so the layers keep peeling back further and further.
Evil deathy metal....cool stuff brother.. Question, your 7 string is the E2 horizon right? I can buy a second hand one for 1100, but is has no floyd, nor an evertune..such a shame
The Faceless Dude, I would almost trade mine in for a guitar that didn’t have a Floyd!! The EverTune is great to have though. But I still say go for it , especially at that price!!
Under the collar of branching out....check out this band ‘distant dream’, they have out 2 albums...i think the overall genre is called post rock....but man the playing and the songs just hit all the right spots..i like to call myself a guitarmusic lover with all kinds of metal as a strong favourite...
@@Francob78 Dude, I had a chance to listen to them today (and doing so now). Yes, this is awesome music! I'm actually working to it...I'm making a guitar practice schedule tool for everyone to use - I'll be putting this out there soon, free. But yes, awesome band!
Dude those are all songs I wrote for the video, although I may have played 'Final Reign' from my Masterpeace album: www.jasonstallworth.com/music/masterpeace/

Awesome, yeah, that gives you a different dynamic to your playing and will really help you expand on your riff writing!
Basically chromaticsim sounds super evil. Another great video Jason, wish I knew about you channel as a beginner
That what I am waiting, thanks JASON
Bayu Agni You are welcome my friend!
Watched a couple of your vids before, but I subbed after this one. Got you on my practice playlist, some more 7 string videos would be great man!
Dude, thanks for th sub and yes, there are definitely more 7 string lessons coming!
Awesome lesson the more you post the more Iam getting better on 7 string
Dude, that's awesome to hear because that's the goal of these lessons!
The 2nd riff's really tough for me!
Yeah that one gets a little tricky
Do you have anymore videos with the different medal chords? I need to use more than just power chords.

@@jasonstallworth Thanks for recording those sessions; they've been a great help since I'm unable to be around other musicians due to bizarro world
Thank you. Part 3 is spooky as Hades

Glad this helps, dude! 8 string? I admire those who play one but I can barely wrap my brain around my 7 string still!
Jason Stallworth it is a different beast
