I KNOW! He was such a cool character, and he was the only one who walked away from Embessa and Caitlyn in that one scene where they declared martial law.
If you want your heart to be broken more, the blue rose necklace that Ekko gave Powder in Episode 7 is analogous to the idea of "unattainable love," the right person, the wrong time. Moreover, blue roses aren't naturally occurring, so people would need to dye the white roses so they become blue. Ekko is that rare Blue Rose. He shouldn't be there, and yet he was. He kissed Powder, hugged Benzo, and got to experience what should have been.
According to the Arcane Artbook the grenade that Jinx uses to kill herself has Isha's handprint on the bottom. So you know, just a little more trauma sprinkled onto that.
The ending of Arcane was amazing. Vander, Vi, Jinx and Isha hugging each other and becoming a little new family and everyone lives. Couldn't have written that better myself.
there is a theory that the tombstone shaped like Isha's hat is actually Isha's grave. The Noxians gave Isha an honorable burial as a symbol of courage. The courage to sacrifice herself for the safety of others from the brutality of warwick. Indirectly, Isha saved the noxian army, also Noxian do and will always honor bravery and courage. They never look down on other people's bravery in war and as a war country, it is a blasphemy if they didn't bury her for she also saved everyone on a possible carnage.
Maybe I'm blind but I'm not seeing the tombstone. Where is it? I see one in the foreground and a second one in the background but that one looks normal-sized and not unlike the other tombstone.
I find that really hard to believe considering they probably never really even saw her, or knew that she caused the explosion. I don’t think they had any idea she existed, she wasn’t significant to them, and they didn’t even really know that she was trying to sacrifice herself. From their perspective some little gremlin ran into the middle of the fight and tried to shoot the monster but just exploded instead
Wanna hear something fun? Ekkos name has 4 letters. In the intro when we see Ekko, his cast shadow mimics the hands on a clock and it ticks backwards. 4 times. During his fight with powder on the bridge, his fight is interrupted by his flashbacks to their childhood, but when reality snaps back and the fight commences in real time, the fight lasts 4.44 seconds. During his dance with powder, it looks choppy because it's animated in 4 frames per second. The first words we ever hear Ekko say is "Gimme a few seconds" as he's fixing the clock in Benzos shop. Because Ekko is manipulating time, everyone else just sees an incredibly lucky boy, who manages to do the EXACT right thing every time. When in reality who knows how many times he's suffered failure after failure.
In the background when they're burying Rictus, you can see Isha's tombstone. It's smaller and the top is shaped like a mining helmet. The Noxians gave Isha a hero's burial to honor her bravery and sacrifice in battle. Not only did Isha save Jinx and Vi's lives, she also saved most of the Noxian army's.
100% confirmed by Amanda Overton now.....MADDIE WAS NOXIAN ALL ALONG!!!!!! And I feel so vindicated now that it was also confirmed by the lead writer!!! Maddie was a plant all along!! - Maddie called her "commander" before Ambessa actually named her Commander - Maddie was the first to beat her chest - Pulled from the car-thing during the memorial attack by huge Shimmer suit dude and NOT killed - Maddie was in bed (god that still makes me sick) trying to get Cait to see Ambessa is trying to “protect them” - Maddie was eaves dropping at the door when Cate & Vi had their argument about Powder - Maddie was carrying the bomb…and also sabotaged it - Maddie showed ZERO remorse or hesitation in pulling the trigger Then there is what Ambessa told Vi in Episode 6...."your absence provided a vacuum I was able to fill." She could have been meaning herself...but it is 100% confirmed now that she meant Maddie. Cait wasn’t anything to Maddie…she was a job.
@@AmbushIntheDark the first hint I got that she was not who she said was when she told Vi how much a fight Cait put up to get Vi's application pushed through...like how would a JUNIOR OFFICER know this!? Was she in admissions or something? No...she was out on beat patrol!
Also, when caitlyn shoots at ambessa in the final episode ambessa says "bold little one" - probably meaning maddie allowed that because she trusted ambessa will react well.
@@yeahhi27 That one I tried to logic out...like how did Ambessa know to raise her hand at the last second like that unless Maddie hadn't had some way to warn her. But, she was literally right there next to Cait....and I don't see how she could have warned her at all.
@@technewsfortechnoobsthat could be explained without even involving Maddie. Hextech is magic. Cait's rifle uses hextech to charge up the shots. Mages exist and they could presumably feel the pressens of magic. This sense doesn't necessarily have to be unique to mages though. So since Ambessa has been shown being relatively used to fighting against magic she realistically could have a sense for it by now. Either by herself or maybe the magic stones she uses to block magic is slightly attracted to it and starts pulling towards it or something. Either way, if she had any way of noticing magic she'd 100% be able to notice the seemingly powerful magic of Cait's hextech rifle charging up, especially since it seems to produce a large amount for the shot. Just pure speculation on my part though, but non-mages sometimes being able to sense strong magic is a very common trope in fantasy for a good reason.
8:50 youre spot on. in the original universe Jynx is often seen laying on the edge throwing explosives down the chasm where she could easily fall to her death. Im not the writer but it seems pretty obvious this is a big symbol of the fact that in the original universe jynx doesnt care if she dies or not
26:26 Apparently there was a longer version of this scene between Ekko and Jinx where he tells her about her other self and where they paint each other to gear up for war. It can even bee seen in the new Artbook they released which hints at Jinx now also being in love with Ekko I think.
@@ams2364 There's little or no cut "footage" from Episode 9. They had scripts and possibly some storyboards that might have added up to another 60 minutes, but (almost?) none of it was animated because it would have taken too much time and money, and they ended up keeping the episode under an hour. The first cut of the Cait and Vi prison scene from Episode 8 is out there somewhere, though....
@@genkracken While the footage was never produced, it has been confirmed canon that those concept scenes happened and that Ekko explained the whole alternate timeline thing and even drew a mural of alternate Powder and showed Jinx that she's not actually a jinx, just a victim of unfortunate circumstance, and that she can become good ie become Powder again so long she chooses to.
I think the crystals Powder had in the AU were shown to imply that Hextech does not exist in this world due to Powder stealing all of them from Jayce and then keeping them hidden. The reason Hextech was never created in that universe was because of Powder.
@@josephangell9921I think the “general census” is that Vi and Cait both died in that explosion. Their deaths created a sense of community. Jayce, he was never saved from jumping in that universe.
@@N00-k6osad that Jayce probably jumped, but he at least got to be involved in some kids dying because of hextech so I like to imagine he felt like his life's purpose had been fulfilled and died happy.
@@josephangell9921 even if he didn't die in the explosion, figured he probably took that step off the ledge that he couldn't take because of Viktor in the main timeline. He was ready to off himself because his work got banned in the main timeline, then compound that with the guilt of a child dying because of his work when all he wanted was to help people with hextech.
The implication I got from it after the finale and Viktor being pretty absolute with his wording ("In ALL possibilities...In ALL timelines..." and "the glorious evolution is destined") makes me think that while Hextech didn't exist in that timeline yet, it would in the future. Makes sense since Ekko and Heimerdinger inadvertently introduced it to Powder, and also gave her a reason to use it (while she was initially content with life, she does catch on at the end that the Ekko she was working with was from a different timeline, and that the mural he made of Vi wasn't of a dream but rather another reality).
There was so much about the Cait/Vi scene to love…. How Cait was going to be honest and tell her she was with someone else….and Vi giving ZERO fucks because she has her cupcake back. Then Cait is the one who rips her shirt off in front of Vi very aggressively, but then is soft and gentle undoing Vi’s wrapping…and is then CONTINUALLY gentle with her. Gently caressing her, touching her softly where she hit her with her rifle as if to say “I’m sorry….I will NEVER hurt you again!”, giggling with her in pure joy because she is FINALLY with who she truly WANTS to be with. And Vi…alternating between being very aggressive with Cait, and then being very gentle with her. Showing Cait that it has basically been her….ALWAYS. Just such a perfect love story for these two. People said that they actually did it in season 1 at some point, but this scene right here is almost irrefutable proof that THIS is their first time. The gentle touches, the way that they look at each others bodies, the happy giggle when fumbling to get undressed....just all so PERFECT!!!! It wasn't about sex...it was about love, trust, letting go, giving in, and intimacy...all the things they NEEDED in that moment with each other, knowing what was about to come.
I hope, no I am pretty sure, that AU Powder is far too smart to do that. She will know that the further you go back, the bigger the consequences. Now whether she creates Hextech in the AU now, that is definitely an open question with great and terrible answers.
I believe them being a memento was why she held on to them as well. However, revealing that she had the crystals when they did may be foreshadowing. She knows how to use them now. Her high level of intelligence and desire to live up to her potential with the goal of improving the environmental quality of Zaun could lead her to use them. Future Viktor says that every timeline creates Hextech one way or another.
The emotions of the ending were surreal to me. I had tears running down my face but a grin a mile wide--I was hurt but loved every second of the story that brought the pain, and I was a wreck for like an hour. And yeah I'm choosing to believe Jinx definitely isn't dead. Besides the show being the ultimate in "show me the body or it didn't happen", I think the fan theories based on the small details definitely are onto something Super glad I found your channel! I've been on a react video kick lately, it's so great seeing people experience the shows I love
Before watching this: I've been looking forward to your reaction to episode 7! My absolute fav episode, it's so good. According to my lastfm account, I listened to "Ma Meilleure Ennemie" over 200 times in the week after haha.
2:53 I, too, ugly cried a bunch of times through the second half of this season. I don't think anything has made me cry like that since I watched _I Saw the TV Glow_ tbh.
In the Alternate Universe, since the explosion killed Vi (and from what I've read, also Caitlin), not only was Hex Tech not invented, but Silco didn't decide he needed to accelerate his plans. That gave him time to find the letter and reconcile with Vander.
I understand why people might have wanted a little more time, but personally it didn't bother me at all, and I was extremely satisfied. Even before realizing Jinx is probably alive I was fully satisfied, and her living just made me love it even more. c:
It leaves you with a lot to chew on. It adds to the lingering the show has on all of us. You can really go through it with a fine-tooth comb, and we all are lol.
I agree, however I do wish that last episode was longer, after the war, everything felt a bit rushed, Vi and Caitlyn just had 1 dialogue and that's it, still great ending though.
I think the ending of Ep7, where it reveals that Alternate Powder still has the gemstone shards hidden away, indicates that hextech will be invented by her instead of Viktor in the alternate timeline and cause the apocalypse, that the invention of hextech is inevitable.
@@twistedtempo200 Not necessarily for that purpose, but rather to explore other universes, perhaps in an attempt to find a universe where Vi is alive, using the shards she kept and the technological knowledge she got from observing Ekko and Heimerdinger. The drawback to this could be the destabilizing of her own timeline.
@17:39 it means that because she hid all the gems and kept them safe, hextech could never be invented in this world. Powder literally saved the world from hextech in the AU. :( Makes the "no good version of me" even more tragic in the main universe!
Suggestion for a property that works for both channels: The Expanse An AMAZING live scifi show that has some of the best writing for a tv show I've ever seen... based on a popular book series. (it's also full of action and mystery and deep characters)
Arcane is a Shakespearean tragedy, the characters die, but they all find purpose, and it's full of misery and sadness but that's the struggle and it's executed so well. NOW ONTO THE HOBBIT!!!!!
I balled my eyes out when it ended. I was hysterically crying. I knew of the show since it first came out, but I only watched it in June of 2024 (I didn't have Netflix to watch it beforehand). I grew so attached to the show that it's actually affecting my mental health in real life. I am so hysterical over the ending. (I need the extended ViCait scene to be happy)
If it will make you feel at least a little bit better. So far in the League lore, Yordles (Heimerdinger's race) don't really die. They are spiritual beings that are sent back to their homeworld of Bandle City when they die in the mortal realm. I have no idea if it's any different when they get deleted in an alternate universe though. This could also be retconned by Riot but at least for now we can assume he is canonically alive.
After Vi's death when the crystal blew up, you can see Powder holding the other crystals in the flashback. I believe that Powder saw the destructive potential of the crystals, she decided to keep them hidden.
I had even more… less than kind words for her in my head but I know UA-cam will only let me get away with so much and I already say the f word like my life depends on it haha
For me, I wish there was more, I think it definitely had a rushed feel at times, but on the flipside, it's a visual masterpiece, all the pieces are there, and the emotional moments especially in the last act, hit me so well. I sat a cried for like 15 minutes afterward from a crazy mix of sadness, relief, satisfaction, and awe at what they'd accomplished. From a technical aspect I think season 1 is tighter, but I fall more and more in love with season 2 the more I watch it
This was such a ride to experience with you, thank you for your quick edits and honest reactions, unhinged and wrong assertions included. I agree its awesome for you as a reactor to enjoy/experience content as such and it makes your videos unique. Keep on keeping on. Maybe there is a possiblity for analysis videos in the future too, given your tendency to identify minute details (for Arcane or other shows)! And this may be better suited to mention on your other channel, but since it's League related, I figure to mention it on this video: there are tons of Lore stories for League that you can dive into if that seems like something of interest to you. League of Legends has a goldmine of lore and cinematics to look into. Theyre also extremely popular for reaction material should you want to know more about these characters an world to help grow your channel!
There's something unique on how you react and that got me to subscribe. You really analyze the episodes and I love it. Well, you're a reader/writer. I hope, in this channel, you'll be reacting to high-rated movies, those that have plot complexities because I think those movies are made for intelligent people. (Arcane has 9.1/10 IMDb rating and has multiple moral dilemmas). I hope you reach 50k subs soon. May I suggest a really good animated movie? It's called "Your Name" (2016).
27:55 This entire reaction to Maddie's reveal was just the best. The fact that you were pretty thirsty for Maddie up until this moment, to then immediately become so full of anger that you flipped off the screen, only to top that off with the most sadistically satisfied laugh that i think i've ever witnessed, made it absolutely hilarious.
It's weird, episode 7 made me cry but in a totally different way than all the other episodes (though a touch of the bridge scene in S1, for similar reasons). That keening 'what could have been'... oh man.
I had this conversation with my best friend and we both agreed we'd go back as much as we'd wanna stay. These people aren't the same people I know and there's people that are relying on me (Ekko) and I don't think I could live with the guilt knowing I could have gone back and maybe saved them and decided to stay instead.
As a long time (12 years!) league player, I've been wholeheartedly invested in Jinx vs Vi/Cait for sooooo long, even before Arcane. Seeing it play out in such a beautiful show destroyed me. I was a total mess at the end of it. It felt cathartic but also like a knife being twisted.
6:20 _"I don't think we get to stay here much longer thought"_ You're wrong. The show stayed in the alternate timeline long enough to hurt us by having Ekko *_choose_* to walk away from what is essentially his perfect life. 😁😁
I don't know if anyone has said this so far but Heimerdinger, from the game's lore is a Yordle (race thingy, smol people, like the smol lady with the big ears, that has a wh house), frankly said, Yordles don't die, they are a race of spirits, they live in Bandle City and when their physical body dies/vanishes like Heim's did, they go back to their spirit city. They are immortal. Fun fact I guess :3 Loved the reaction and I cried with you, good to have someone to cry with over this F-in show :c
Like... as a longtime League player and Arcane fan, i feel *really* torn about the ending (and season 2 as a whole, really). Like, on one hand, you have some of THE highest highs in terms of musical and animation quality (the charcoal animation in episode 1, the watercolors in episodes 5, 6, and 8, and the absolute visual masterpiece that is the ENTIRETY of 9), but the best part of Season 1 (the class divide between the Pilties and Zaunites) basically falling to the wayside in favor of a WAY larger apocalyptic threat kinda soured my taste a bit.
Heimerdinger can’t actually die, yordles are magical creatures when they die they respawn at the bandle tree. There’s actually an emo yordle who just wants to die but can’t :P
My favorite best episode 7 of the already incredibly brilliant series. Several viewers do not realize the level of immense intricate DETAILS in episode 7. (1) Jayce's story= What should NOT be; Ekko's story= What could be. (2) The slow mo dance scene was at 4 frames per second which hints at Ekko's time reversal limit of 4 seconds (3) Notice gorgeous Jinx/ Powder has the same natural dance moves like her mother. This probably explains how she noticed Ekko's moves because she got that dance instinct from her mama. (4) The NECKLACE Ekko leaves with Jinx/ Powder has a blue rose which is symbolic of unattainable love due to the fact that blue roses do not exist hinting at Ekko's love for THIS version of Jinx/ Powder but he can not stay with her no matter how much he wants to because he has to return to his own timeline. I heard that if you looked very closely at that necklace, you will see the faces of Jinx/ Powder and Ekko within the image of the blue rose. (5) The context in the lyrics of the dance song (French song) is a story of lovers who can be together due to how chaotic they are to each other despite having feelings for each other. (6) Ekko's alternate timeline, Silco "found the will to forgive" re-establishing his brotherhood with Vander because of the LETTER from Vander in Season 1. (7) The french song has racked up the the highest views on Riot games music youtube channel after Arcane sn2 Act 3 released. (8) When Ekko left....He left behind the hextech created and the engineering notes which means that Powder can still [probably] remake it with the hextechs she had in the drawer to bring back Vi ... May be.
I would want to get back to my universe/timeline because this wasn't the world i lived in , and people back there are my people, not these people i've never known. Taking life from this live's version if me wouldn't be a right thing to do, he created and experienced all of this, so it's just right that he should stay there.
Well, you cut it out, but the flashback as Vander and Jinx are falling is something that CAN'T be Jinx's flashback because she's asleep in it - it had to be Vander's, which means, even if for a moment, he was actually still in there.
im one of the people who watched it back in december 2021 and i am so glad they didnt make a happy ending even tho i personally wished for one i think the show is perfect especially because she sees herself in isha and when isha dies jinx also dies and powder comes back wanting to end the cycle of killing by running away. I also loved how they wrapped up jayce`s and viktor`s ending by making an opened ending but i still wont forgive them for my baby lil sha and ekko
I will also NEVER forgive them for what they did to my baby Isha. Now that it’s been a while since I finished the show, I’m also glad it wasn’t a happily ever after for everyone. I think one of my favorite things about this show is how true to real life it is. The decisions certain characters make based on the life that was handed to them and also how they change as a person based on certain events. So, in a way, wrapping it up with a bright happy bow would’ve felt wrong in some ways. I’m still upset though haha
I’d be curious to hear your opinions on Eragon, and here’s why: I remember being in middle school when it was published and the school actually invited Christopher Paolini to read an excerpt for our class. Afterwards, we would be invited to ask questions. I was pretty excited about it because I was an avid reader (His Dark Materials, LOTR, Animorphs…) and he was only a few years older than me and my friends. Plus, this was in central Texas and we didn’t get a lot of guest speakers who were published authors. This being 20 years ago, I unfortunately don’t remember the exact exchange between him and the classmate who asked the question, but I DO remember thinking, “welp…he’s probly not getting invited back again.” I also remember then making the conscious decision NOT to read his book because: 1. from the excerpt he shared, it sounded pretty derivative; and 2. from the interaction he had with my other classmate, he just seemed like kind of an ass. All of that is to say, I do enjoy your content and I trust your insight. On top of which, I’m also open to being wrong. So, I’m curious to hear what you have to say about it. Also, if you’re putting the call out for beta readers, I’d like to put my name in the hat as well, if I may. Quite frankly, I could honestly use a good reason to get back into an early passion like reading.
@@geenahreactss Please, madam; flattery will get you nowhere. I’m just glad my powers of hypervigilance and echolalia can be used for Good. If anything, what say we just consider that my résumé for your prospective project beta reader book club 😄
In case you didn't hear, this is the end of "Arcane" but they're going to do more shows set in the same world and they've been working on the next one for a year already. It's going to partially take place in Noxus. It'll probably be about Mel and the Black Rose but that part hasn't been confirmed yet.
Arcane is perfect. I love that its easily a contender for one of the greatest cinematic wonders ever created. What I love most is that they really did but all their heart into breathing life into these champions who, some of whom have been in the game over a decade. Each of them feels true to their playstyle. Warwick[Vander] dies constantly or is unkillable, Jinx is like harley quinn with batman's arsenal and she loves destroying towers, Vi is a headstrong martyr who punches first and dies trying to asking questions while punching, Caitlyn is calculated and intentional, Jayce tries to do everything and fails at everything but still gets carried and wins, Ekko is the anime protagonist who rewinds time by four seconds[tho he can't spam in game]. Viktor is really the only one that got retconned. He was more imposing, his figure was bulky, and he really did seem like a man with machine parts bolted on and a laser arm on his back. I'm not mad that Fortiche took the creative liberty to make his machinery somewhat organic and integrated with his flesh more. I am mad that Tencent are cowards and didn't let Fortiche release the full version, even though I'm certain Riot would have been ok with it.
How do I feel? Miserably satisfied. Even if I think season two could have benefited from a few more episodes. Still one of the best shows ever, artistical masterpiece and emotional grinder. Hope you are doing alright 😅
If you want some extra heartache you should look up the English lyrics to Ma Meilleure Ennemie (The song Ekko and Jinx dance to) and Isha's Song (from the end of 6). Those scenes hit different after you know what they're saying.
Hmmm I was wondering about that bookshelf behind you. The part in the beginning explains a lot. A couple of questions… what is your favourite book? What book/books do you recommend to read? I myself am trying to get into literature.
This was a great series to watch! It felt so great after having watched the season myself to watch another person go through all the same emotions I went through! We don't recommend the show to people because it's good, we recommend the show because we want a fellow shoulder to cry on 😂
That is the way to look at it, huh? Ekko could've stayed with AU Powder but ultimately wouldn't have saved Jinx and, furthermore, his original world. Kudos to Ekko
Has anyone else recognized that Heimerdinger sings like Bob Dylan? So, yeah I am not really into happy endings because they rarely strike me as believable. I really LOVE this show and the art present with in it.
I wanted Blitzcrank. It's a character that, before they made Arcane the main canon, was Viktor's first-ish robot assistant, untill he felt he was in a good enough spot that the help was unnecessary, then he just let Blitz go out into the world helping people Also would have liked the rivalry and misunderstanding between Jayce and Viktor to be a thing. In the original Jayce is more of the Hero type, while Viktor is very effective on his solutions, both of them want the best for everyone, but while Jayce makes a brace for someone's unhealing leg, Viktor will just remove it and replace it with a mechanical one (With their consent, despite Jayce doubting that at every opportunity)
Yeah, I think having an unsatisfied feeling when the show ended is a pretty common experience (it was the same for me too). Also, if you kinda don't know what to do now, I can give ya a couple of recommendations (provided that you like anime). Anyhoo, have a wonderful rest of your daaaay! ~ :)
I'm glad you'll keep doing reactions. It's fun watching you crying at literally everything. And even though I was not a Harry Potter fan (sorry) I thought the Cho Chang actress was really good here as Caitlyn.
No one could talk to me for a full day after finishing the last 3 episodes and I nearly went through an entire box of tissues 😭😭😭 Also I’m glad you’re continuing with a new book channel… already subscribed 😊
I love your heartfelt reactions and I echo them nearly 100%. My only minor deviation is that I gave Ambessa a tad more sympathetic weight to her cause even though I was similarly satisfied with her downfall. If her side of the story is to be believed that she sacrificed her son to preserve Mel, then that's an emotional wallop and a half that I'm inclined to think the show's pacing glossed over way too hastily, such that I wish I could learn more about the Black Rose and what their motivations are/were. I was curious about what insight you had gleaned from seeing alternate-universe Jinx's necklace/pendant and that inspired me to look deeper into it, and so I thank you for that. There appear to be multiple interpretations and the symbolism is very interesting, as some commenters here have also noted. Also, in case you or anyone who would like to share doesn't mind my asking, what was your favorite character(s) & song(s) from the series? I couldn't settle on one for either. For me characters-wise it was: * Jinx - I don't think I've rooted for a character to have a happy/joyful closing act more than her, and so having episode 7 was such a blessing (or blessing in disguise perhaps). Also, her VA is amazing (of Fallout fame as well). * Ekko - it's one thing to sacrifice being able to remain in his version of paradise (aside from Vi), but to do so only for it to become a burden he has to internalize and probably can't share with anyone out of fear of coming across as a lunatic... that commands a ludicrous amount of respect from me * Isha - despite her being a fictional character, somehow the portrayal of her capacity for unconditional love managed to break through even my bulletproof cynicism Songs-wise (obvious choices on my part): * Royal & The Serpent's "Wasteland" - probably one of the most heart-wrenching songs I've listened to in a way that's also musically accessible to me as it pertains to the loss of hope and the comfort of resignation. Watching her perform it live is interesting because although she appears to dance a bit, it does also seem like all of her movements are mechanically purposeful so as to affect how her voice gets transmitted to the mic * Eason Chan's “这样很好 (Isha’s Song)” - didn't understand a word of it at first but didn't need to for the song combined with the montage to render my tear ducts flimsy as floodgates during a category 5 hurricane. From listening to it with the lyrics in hand, it reinforces the gut-punching sorrow of loss accompanied by the warmth of a loving hug * Stromae & Pomme's “Ma Meilleure Ennemie” - similar to Eason's song, didn't understand the lyrics because of my uniligual stubbornness, but the wistful vibes were especially spot on for me to be 110% immersed in the rhythm of the progression. And similar to Isha's song, having a better grasp of the meaning of the lyrics adds another major layer of appreciation. I'm lowkey jealous of everyone who was able to parse the lyrics in real time of watching their respective scenes for the first time.
We will probably learn more about the Black Rose in future shows. Especially with all the hint of a show about Noxus (especially with Swain's three eyed crows). But in the video game lore, the black rose is insanely secretive and its leader, LeBlanc (who is a champion in the game), is unknown to mostly all in the organization as well. Although in this show it is hinted that the full black and yellow eyed black rose woman is LeBlanc, due to the eye aesthetics and Mel calling her "Deceiver", because LeBlanc is known as "The Deceiver". I do agree the show could have been paced better, but every episode is so expensive and there was so much to fit into it. Hopefully we can get some more explanations about Arcane in future shows!
Fair point, I've been reading into the cost of the show and it turns out that although the show is critically acclaimed, it hasn't been as successful financially although I hope it recirculates back into game cosmetic purchases and such. I'm definitely looking forward to what comes next.
i think powder still having the crystals plus what she learned from working with heimerdinger and ekko implies her creating hextech or some form of it in her universe for better or worse.
I recently finished the book and can confirm I had a great time with the story! I was *shocked* when I discovered Eragon wasn’t the name of the dragon though haha
@@geenahreactss True. I walked into that story fully ready to call the dragon by that name. I have seen Scythe on your bookshelf. If you haven't read that or if you haven't finished that series, it is one of my favorites of the last decade. I would love to see your reaction(s) to that as well.
@ I’ve read the first book and enjoyed it! Definitely a series I’m interested in continuing and I heard it’s going to be adapted into a show or movie which is exciting!
So you know. I just watched your "My Book Rating System" and enjoyed it. And I do my absolute best not to read, as my career has me reading all the time and not the fun type of reading. So I think it pretty cool that you are honoring your different type of audiences, it's a great idea.
It's been a couple of weeks since I saw the final act of Season 2 and I'm still not over it. The only other thing that has left me equally destroyed was episode 8 of season 2 of "The Mandalorian" I'm going with Jinx still being alive. The clues are there if you dig into the ending shots again...
Ahhh... A very painful series to finish on.. What makes it so much worse is that... if we do see them again. Its going to be very far into the future. But i hope as they make these series they continue their stories with movies. Because i would 100% go into the Cinma to watch this shit and cry as a grown ass man.
I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but a show I would recommend adding to your list is The Legend of Vox Machina. Love your reactions Gina! I can't wait to follow along with your upcoming projects.
Also, if you have anything you’d like to see me react to, you can submit here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfAkznQlLSQToUFKDy9gXY4GvFcJlW86hjta3SM8pqawZ895w/viewform
If any Arcane creator for some reason is reading this: F U FOR WHAT YOU DID TO MY MAN LORIS. HE DIDN’T DESERVE THAT. JUSTICE FOR LORIS
I KNOW! He was such a cool character, and he was the only one who walked away from Embessa and Caitlyn in that one scene where they declared martial law.
Yes! He was one of my fav characters!
Or rather: I get why they did it, but it was like the one death that made me go "no!" lol
Justice? In war? It'd be interesting to rewatch Vander explaining why war sucks while remembering Loris and his death.
If you want to see how sadistic the creators are, look up the flash frame of the moment Maddie pulls the trigger.
YOU SHUT UP. I’M TOO FRAGILE FOR THIS.
@@geenahreactss It also has Ekko and Powder’s faces hidden in the pattern
@@SevenRestDays7 Facing opposite directions... Love that can never be, because they cannot see eye-to-eye.
According to the Arcane Artbook the grenade that Jinx uses to kill herself has Isha's handprint on the bottom.
So you know, just a little more trauma sprinkled onto that.
Just wanted to let you know sending voice notes to your friends violently sobbing is so valid and real
And watching edits to cope these Arcane editors don’t play 😭
The ending of Arcane was amazing. Vander, Vi, Jinx and Isha hugging each other and becoming a little new family and everyone lives. Couldn't have written that better myself.
there is a theory that the tombstone shaped like Isha's hat is actually Isha's grave.
The Noxians gave Isha an honorable burial as a symbol of courage. The courage to sacrifice herself for the safety of others from the brutality of warwick. Indirectly, Isha saved the noxian army, also Noxian do and will always honor bravery and courage. They never look down on other people's bravery in war and as a war country, it is a blasphemy if they didn't bury her for she also saved everyone on a possible carnage.
i actually think it is because it's so small compared to the others. and it's next to Rictus'.
This lines up with ambessa wanting to add sacrifice to the noxian belief system as well.
Noxian philosophy is "to kill them until they are family". They DO respect the valorous, even if they are on the opposing side.
Powder's first line in the entire show is, "One day I'm gonna fly one of those things." The last thing we see is the airship she was referencing to :)
When in reality who knows how many times he's suffered failure after failure.
i hope with all these 4-s they hint at Jhin, because 4 doesnt mean much for Ekko :D
23:56 "He took his little hat off him for them" felt so genuinely sweet of you to say. Fish guy is awesome, I really like him
In the background when they're burying Rictus, you can see Isha's tombstone. It's smaller and the top is shaped like a mining helmet.
The Noxians gave Isha a hero's burial to honor her bravery and sacrifice in battle. Not only did Isha save Jinx and Vi's lives, she also saved most of the Noxian army's.
Let's all cry together❤
A group cry sounds so nice
100% confirmed by Amanda Overton now.....MADDIE WAS NOXIAN ALL ALONG!!!!!!
And I feel so vindicated now that it was also confirmed by the lead writer!!! Maddie was a plant all along!!
- Maddie called her "commander" before Ambessa actually named her Commander
- Maddie was the first to beat her chest
- Pulled from the car-thing during the memorial attack by huge Shimmer suit dude and NOT killed
- Maddie was in bed (god that still makes me sick) trying to get Cait to see Ambessa is trying to “protect them”
- Maddie was eaves dropping at the door when Cate & Vi had their argument about Powder - Maddie was carrying the bomb…and also sabotaged it
- Maddie showed ZERO remorse or hesitation in pulling the trigger
Then there is what Ambessa told Vi in Episode 6...."your absence provided a vacuum I was able to fill." She could have been meaning herself...but it is 100% confirmed now that she meant Maddie.
Cait wasn’t anything to Maddie…she was a job.
In hindsight her "its good to know there are good ones left" when she met Vi is pretty fucked up too. The hell do you mean "*good ones?*"
One crawled out of hell, the other walked out of Heaven. Arcane and their symmetries...
Jayce needed to learn the limits of Hextech so he wants to correct it. Ekko needed to be reminded of hope so he continued his fight.
Fake! They never said that
@@osvaediez1761 actually, it's true. There's about 60 minutes of footage, mostly of jinx and ekko, that has been cut from the show
@@ams2364 There's little or no cut "footage" from Episode 9.
@@genkracken While the footage was never produced, it has been confirmed canon that those concept scenes happened and that Ekko explained the whole alternate timeline thing and even drew a mural of alternate Powder and showed Jinx that she's not actually a jinx, just a victim of unfortunate circumstance, and that she can become good ie become Powder again so long she chooses to.
this show left a hole that gets smaller but can never be filled
Out from Vi lips. No show in this world has ever been this good. But so real...
I think the crystals Powder had in the AU were shown to imply that Hextech does not exist in this world due to Powder stealing all of them from Jayce and then keeping them hidden. The reason Hextech was never created in that universe was because of Powder.
I figured he died in explosion like Vi
My headcannon is that Powder in the alternate timeline recreated Ekko's time machine and got it to go farther back than 4 seconds and saves VI
I’ve seen a lot of people theorize this!
I hope, no I am pretty sure, that AU Powder is far too smart to do that. She will know that the further you go back, the bigger the consequences.
Now whether she creates Hextech in the AU now, that is definitely an open question with great and terrible answers.
The post series melancholy has hit me really hard with this show
17:32 I imagine they are some sort of memorabilia of Vi's passing and that is why Powder is keeping them rather than using them.
Besides the show being the ultimate in "show me the body or it didn't happen", I think the fan theories based on the small details definitely are onto something
Super glad I found your channel!
THE VITRIOL TOWARD MADDIE WAS SO VALID
I HATE THAT LITTLE GINGER SNAP
YESS IM SO HAPPY THE ACT 3 VID IS OUT, SO EXCITED TO WATCH
Powder's first line: "one day I'm going to ride on one of those things", as an airship passes over. Last scene, an airship flies by.
Pedantic correction, not "an" airship, the same exact airship :)
I think the ending of Ep7, where it reveals that Alternate Powder still has the gemstone shards hidden away, indicates that hextech will be invented by her instead of Viktor in the alternate timeline and cause the apocalypse, that the invention of hextech is inevitable.
Jinx don’t care about giving magic to the city you overthinking😂😂😂😂
@@twistedtempo200 Not necessarily for that purpose, but rather to explore other universes, perhaps in an attempt to find a universe where Vi is alive, using the shards she kept and the technological knowledge she got from observing Ekko and Heimerdinger.
The drawback to this could be the destabilizing of her own timeline.
@17:39 it means that because she hid all the gems and kept them safe, hextech could never be invented in this world. Powder literally saved the world from hextech in the AU. :( Makes the "no good version of me" even more tragic in the main universe!
Suggestion for a property that works for both channels: The Expanse
An AMAZING live scifi show that has some of the best writing for a tv show I've ever seen... based on a popular book series.
(it's also full of action and mystery and deep characters)
Amazing characters. Drummer, Gunner, and Amos are the GOATs.
Arcane is a Shakespearean tragedy, the characters die, but they all find purpose, and it's full of misery and sadness but that's the struggle and it's executed so well.
NOW ONTO THE HOBBIT!!!!!
i really recommend Yellowjackets - Ella Purnell (jinx’s va) is in it! very interesting story gripped me from episode 1
Every part of the reaction to Maddie's betrayal was so good (and justified!). :D
Thank you for taking us along on this journey with you. It’s a really fun and experience

Thank you that means a lot! And I will definitely add that to the list for future reactions!

In here, the "nice Zaun" universe, Vander has a VI tattoo in his right hand :' )
If it'll make you feel better, the studio is planning on a sequel series set in 3 new places at the same time, one of those is Noxus.
My favorite best episode 7 of the already incredibly brilliant series. Several viewers do not realize the level of immense intricate DETAILS in episode 7.
(1) Jayce's story= What should NOT be; Ekko's story= What could be.
(2) The slow mo dance scene was at 4 frames per second which hints at Ekko's time reversal limit of 4 seconds
(3) Notice gorgeous Jinx/ Powder has the same natural dance moves like her mother.
Taking life from this live's version if me wouldn't be a right thing to do, he created and experienced all of this, so it's just right that he should stay there.
the letter that vander tried to send to silco but it didnt get threw in are unvierse but you sayng it did in the alternate reality is quite smart
Well, you cut it out, but the flashback as Vander and Jinx are falling is something that CAN'T be Jinx's flashback because she's asleep in it - it had to be Vander's, which means, even if for a moment, he was actually still in there.
Def will be a staying viewer. We’re all trauma bonded thru this lmao
"You see her arm? Your arm's not supposed to move tgat way."
im one of the people who watched it back in december 2021 and i am so glad they didnt make a happy ending even tho i personally wished for one i think the show is perfect especially because she sees herself in isha and when isha dies jinx also dies and powder comes back wanting to end the cycle of killing by running away.
8:55 no, i think your analysis is 100% spot on
"That's what she said" made me laugh out loud. 😂

Hello Gina, Can someone send you a Book/comic for reading and you to make a review?
In case you didn't hear, this is the end of "Arcane" but they're going to do more shows set in the same world and they've been working on the next one for a year already. It's going to partially take place in Noxus. It'll probably be about Mel and the Black Rose but that part hasn't been confirmed yet.
@16:00 “and heres Jayce suffering” had me 😂😂😂
I feel with all the evidence of Jinx surviving at the end, that makes it way more satisfying for me.
Jinx voice actor, Ella Parnell, is in another video game adaptation called Fallout, i recommend giving Fallout a watch.
The record in the intro is always Vi and Jinx. The episode with Ekko, the record was Ekko and Powder. ❤
As long as my kids were in that nice universe, I'm staying. If my children aren't there or are the few who aren't doing well, then I'd go back.
i've been waiting for thisssssssssssss 💗
Haha this entire reaction was fire!
“One of these days I’m gonna fly in one of those”
What was the last thing you saw before Jinx wrote The End?
Hmmm I was wondering about that bookshelf behind you. The part in the beginning explains a lot. A couple of questions… what is your favourite book? What book/books do you recommend to read? I myself am trying to get into literature.
This was a great series to watch! It felt so great after having watched the season myself to watch another person go through all the same emotions I went through!
We don't recommend the show to people because it's good, we recommend the show because we want a fellow shoulder to cry on 😂
Personally, I could have used a couple more episodes in Happy Powder timeline... but that episode was perfect, flawless.
If in a worse universe I had someone I cared about, I would come back.
It's a character that, before they made Arcane the main canon, was Viktor's first-ish robot assistant, untill he felt he was in a good enough spot that the help was unnecessary, then he just let Blitz go out into the world helping people
Also would have liked the rivalry and misunderstanding between Jayce and Viktor to be a thing.
For me characters-wise it was:
* Jinx - I don't think I've rooted for a character to have a happy/joyful closing act more than her, and so having episode 7 was such a blessing (or blessing in disguise perhaps). Also, her VA is amazing (of Fallout fame as well).
* Ekko - it's one thing to sacrifice being able to remain in his version of paradise (aside from Vi), but to do so only for it to become a burden he has to internalize and probably can't share with anyone out of fear of coming across as a lunatic... that commands a ludicrous amount of respect from me
* Isha - despite her being a fictional character, somehow the portrayal of her capacity for unconditional love managed to break through even my bulletproof cynicism
Songs-wise (obvious choices on my part):
* Royal & The Serpent's "Wasteland" - probably one of the most heart-wrenching songs I've listened to in a way that's also musically accessible to me as it pertains to the loss of hope and the comfort of resignation. Watching her perform it live is interesting because although she appears to dance a bit, it does also seem like all of her movements are mechanically purposeful so as to affect how her voice gets transmitted to the mic
* Eason Chan's “这样很好 (Isha’s Song)” - didn't understand a word of it at first but didn't need to for the song combined with the montage to render my tear ducts flimsy as floodgates during a category 5 hurricane. From listening to it with the lyrics in hand, it reinforces the gut-punching sorrow of loss accompanied by the warmth of a loving hug
* Stromae & Pomme's “Ma Meilleure Ennemie” - similar to Eason's song, didn't understand the lyrics because of my uniligual stubbornness, but the wistful vibes were especially spot on for me to be 110% immersed in the rhythm of the progression.
"How do they win"
"That's the neat part, you don't"
13:26 finally someone got the joke 😂😂
She was quick with it 🫰
You’re so real for wanting Isha to come back😭😭
i think powder still having the crystals plus what she learned from working with heimerdinger and ekko implies her creating hextech or some form of it in her universe for better or worse.
I can't wait for the IT reaction!!! Bwahahaha!!! Eragon was so great and as a fellow dwagon lover, I feel like you will love that story.
13:26 Thank you. A lot of people believe these jokes are overdone. Those people are wrong. A well-timed TWSS can brighten up my day anytime.
It's been a couple of weeks since I saw the final act of Season 2 and I'm still not over it. The only other thing that has left me equally destroyed was episode 8 of season 2 of "The Mandalorian"
I'm going with Jinx still being alive. The clues are there if you dig into the ending shots again...
Ahhh... A very painful series to finish on.. What makes it so much worse is that... if we do see them again. Its going to be very far into the future. But i hope as they make these series they continue their stories with movies. Because i would 100% go into the Cinma to watch this shit and cry as a grown ass man.
her keeping them hextech in the other dimension just shows how shes the reason hextech doesnt exist for them
So the reason possibly for Jayce not being with ekko is that viktor never stopped him from jumping so no Jayce to combine with
I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but a show I would recommend adding to your list is The Legend of Vox Machina. Love your reactions Gina! I can't wait to follow along with your upcoming projects.
