After watching so many videos on you tube. I must take my hat off at this insightful interesting video, which I'm nominating as best tutorial video on UA-cam ...shows everyone else really how it should be done... Sir what a true professional you are. From the soundtrack to the step by step complete with intricate close ups and varied camera angles...lighting was great. Editing grill.Oh not to forget to mention the clever consise clear narration even overseas people ( an Arab friend from the mosque with poor English told me about a hat boy video on you tube....we both live in Glasgow ) can easily follow and understand...Thank you so so much. I looking forward to saving my money and feeling that smug feeling you get when the heart feels the inner pride of achievement....admittedly only because of this tutorial. On behalf of the countless -there must be tons of folk- people who never said thank you with any sincerity. A warm heartfelt hand of friendship goes to you the maker of this video for sharing your knowledge and wisdom to your fellow brothers in humanity asking for nothing in return. God bless you. May God drown you in his blessings Sir. In my mind I'm shaking your hand vigorously wearing my warmest sincerest smile.......Thank you again.
Thank you ayub salim for your heartfelt comment. It is wonderful to hear such warm comments of encouragement. I truly appreciate the time taken to write to me with your kind and appreciative words. Great to hear your thoughts on my filmaking and that my narration is clear and understandable. I try my best to make my videos concise and as easy to understand as possible. Many thanks :-)
Following this tutorial of yours I managed to change the fuel filter on my Škoda Fabia with confidence. Thank you a lot for the time and effort you put into making these videos. Keep it up! 😉
Hat's off to you, HatBoyHarvey! This should be more like 4 comments saying thank you, so i rounded them up - changed oil, oil filter, fuel filter, all like you showed, and she (the Fabia) even runs!! Also - your accent is awesome!!
@@HatBoyHarveyi also have a fabia vrs and anytime i have an issue whether it's the window regulator, pollen filter (just done) or (now) the fuel filter, i always click onto your video first! cheers for the great tutorials
Great video! I have a 2009 Fabia with the 1.9 TDI PD (105) engine and was wanting to replace the fuel filter. Do you know if these engines are also self-bleeding? Thank you.
Yes, if you just swap out the filter it should run and bleed itself, but there are occasions when air may get trapped and cause an issue if all isn't perfectly setup. That is why I would recommend filling the filter will new fuel to eliminate any issues. Saying that, I don't do it as it wouldn't be a bother to me if I had to bleed it anyway. Worst I've seen is it may take a bit of turning over to start so make sure the battery is good :-)
I am doing this for my Skoda Octavia 2003 1.9TDI. The two o-rings are not part of the kit and they tell me at the shop that they arent supposed to be in there. Do you think using other o-rings from a generic set to be ok?
@@HatBoyHarvey after some months it's not an issue, thanks for the content. The car still is super sluggish, has a hard time to get up to speed, even in downhill (although it helps). I think it might be the fuel-pump but I am going to clean the fuel injectors first.
@@HatBoyHarvey I would not know how to do that honestly. It just feels like at around 3000rpm it hits a wall and before that it does not respond very well when i but the petal to the floor
Hi, how much fuel need to full in new filter? And the guy from auto parts said that Bosh filter n6322 is not my fabia 1.9TDi.Also i checked my old filter it's more shorter.
Don't worry about the amount of fuel for the filter on this car has a lift pump so it is not critical and will start even if you don't fill it with fuel. There are a number of filters that fit, some shorter ones will obviously go into the holder. As long as it does and the fittment arrangment on the top is the same it will work. The housing is designed for a certain length of fit for the clips to hold the filter snugg and stop it rattling. Measure the holder from the bottom to the clips and check against filter specs which are ofter given in descriptions. The longer Bosch N6322 has a drain on the bottom that should remain in place and closed.
Take the belt off and check all the pulleys for wear or stiffness. Any wear will cause vibration and dragging. Does you AC work, if not it is likely that the pump has seized and the pulley sheared loose to protect the engine. the alternator pulley can also fail. I intend to do a video for this :-)
Excelente video tutorial y gracias.
Had to change my fuel return valve yesterday as they no longer come with the fuel filters. 31 pounds! Hope it works, been having trouble with fuel going back to the tank.

yes, it is underneath by the tank which isn't as convenient as the diesels. Make sure everything is clean before you change it out and be careful as it is petrol :-)
No, the PD engine vents the air out easily compared to newer CR engines. It helps, but you can most likely get away without filling it at all and turn it over until it starts; and most often does :-)
