for those of you who are watching to learn or do it yourself. He installed the camshafts in the incorrect order. You MUST install the exhaust side cam first and pull the cam chain taught around the exhaust cam to insure that the cam chain slack is all on the intake side (where the camshaft chain tensioner is). Practicing this routine will ensure that there aren't any kinks in the cam chain, preventing damage to the cam chain itself, as well as the cam chain sprockets. Otherwise, AWESOME VIDEO DUDE!
Hey Brother, I see you know your way around that 636 motor I keep having this same constant issue which no mechanic can figure out. Whats the best way to contact you?
Live. Vibe. Lasers. Yes you are right. I don’t have my old computer anymore so I am not 100% sure where I got it. I want to say I got it online at “free music archive” or something similar
@@pkdann64 I found it! It is Synapsis - Make Me Alive. You used it in another video and referenced it is the doobly-doo (description). Thanks for taking the time to reply and awesome videos! About to do valve guide seals on my 06 ZX6R.
Rotifa Opeoluwa I have a mounting video but not detailed in my "Top End Rebuild" video. Unfortunately I don't have any video on the engine rebuild mounting and start up.
yep, totally agree. i just finished putting it all together, bike starts, but it accelerates itself to the point I need to shut it down. it even shows I got 50 mph while on standers and in neutral. any idea why ?
I would check if the throttle cable is moving freely. Also check the throttle bodies to see if they open and shut ok. Just to be sure, what year and model bike do you have?
I don't know if the timing for the ZX900 is the same as the 2004 ZX6R. If you want the ignition timing for 2004 ZX6R, it is 12.5 degrees before Top Dead Center @1 300 rpm to 35 before TDC @4 600rpm. For valve timing, the open inlet is 55 degrees before TDC and close 85 degree after BDC. The exhaust is open at 62 degrees before BDC and close at 34 degrees after TDC. I am not sure if I answered your question. Let me know.
dre day it took me 3 weeks to complete the rebuild. This includes waiting for parts, working as little as 1 hour on some days and about 6 hours on certain days
if you are looking for the proper procedure how to rebuild an engine, DO NOT follow this guy instructions. he has committed several mistakes on assembly and worse yet he didn't even clean the cylinder block old gasket and worse yet the head was also not clean.
Mister, you do not have to follow what I did. This video wasn't posted to be a "How to.." video. This is how I did it and got it to work. Why don't you make a video to correct all my mistakes?

you are absolutely right.
Is there any difference on a 2006?
Nice videos man! really enjoyed these. Proper job !
Killer videos! Mad prop brah.
Brilliant video.
Nice job man, really love your videos.
Where did you get all of these new gasket from?
I have used a few websites to get oem parts. Here are a few: https:/www.kawasakipartswarehouse.com, bikebandit.com, motosport.com.
I thought you'd have more views than this, considering what you have accomplished. and given ninjas are made of cheese

Do u have a mounting and starting video for this rebuild? If u do, would love to see... thanksb

Do you have to remove the top end just to rebuild the transmission my second gear is going out
For this year model, yes. I know some of the newer models have cassette type transmission where you can pull it out without splitting the engine.
getting the cams in the right position is the hardest thing ever....
George-Paul Sand it is difficult to the point of annoying

also, it revvs down slowly back to idle If i accelerate it. not the moment I let go of the throttle

i don't have the throttle cable attached yet. 2005 zx6r 636C . few people told me it could be a vacuum leak problem
At 4:00 , are the camshafts flush in the grooves before and after installing the cover?
Before, it will sit higher and so you will need to push down with the cover, then bolt it down to make it flush. I hope I answered your question.
