Thanks for the video, Johnny. I love seeing the inner workings and hearing the "unfluffed" review of guns in this price range. Guerini is a hard one to pin down because I've heard wonderful and less than wonderful things about them, and it's hard to ferret out what is brand loyalty, snobbery, hearsay, and what is actually true. Now we just need to get a Chapuis sxs in your hands. ;)
That was a very open review on a summit ! What I think is one of the best thins about you Channel. Straight talking with No sale Pitch attached to it 👍 CG are Beautiful & fantastic guns for the money Very much considering to get one next year !!
Having a Miroku 7000 and this gun, and i love the CG Summit the most. Never failed me. ❤️. No need for another gun. The trigger is much better on the Summit than Miroku/Browning. It also feets like tha targets slows down when i use the Summit, it simply fits like a glove.
Thanks for the insight. I'm liking my Magnus Field, 20 gauge, 30" barrels. It's my first O/U and it I feels a lot like my English SXS's. It was a little front heavy with the wood butt plate, but balances really well with a Kick-Eze pad on the back.
I own a Summit Ascent Sporting now for 3+ years 37k rounds through it- malfunctions: second barrel not firing, 7 times now in competition... Wear: heavy galling on hammers from the rabbit ear connection supporting the ejector rods.. Galling on receiver face, galling of the barrels from the fore end wood, loose trigger guard (from factory), forward height adjustment screw in adjustable stock (cross threaded from factory), patching of stock finish (from factory), blue wearing off on opening latch level, blue wearing off of trigger guard and the good bit; it hits everything you look at... Yes, I love the gun and will probably send it in for a medical soon, but I do love this gun.... I have ordered a Krieghoff K-80 sporting (US Model) 12 ga. 32", 20 ga. 32" multi- barrel set, a robust clay killer designed for the pounding sport of clay shooting- granddad will pass the Guerini on to the Grandson after the it visits the doctor... Peace and good shooting.........
I have a summit sporting 32" about three years now and over 20000 rounds!! Never miss a bit!!!I am now thinking to do the first servise!!the only thing that I dont like is that the hinge pins are too small for a competition gun like summit!!I dont know if this is a negative for the longevity of the gun!! Second thing I dont like is the balance!! 32" barells are too front heavy!!for this reason I use flush chokes and a little weight at the stock!! At Greece caesar guerini gives only 2 years guarandy and this is also a problem!!guerini now have raised up the prices and maby beretta 694 or browning pro sport is a better choice!!
Nice one, JC. I’ve got a side plated Guerini as you know and so far very happy with it on clays and game. Will watch out those cannon shells in the future though!
Loving these overview videos. Top notch. Particularly the action comparison ones. How about doing one on the Browning Cynergy action? Looking forward to it already :-)
I have the summit trap shotgun what I don't like about mine is I work on all my guns I am my own gunsmith and seizure Guarini will not sell none of the parts for these guns and there is no video or breakdown of the internal parts of the shotgun the only downside of this Caesar Guarini besides that it's a great shotgun thanks for your video it was very helpful
Hi Jonny, another excellent video......having just bought a CG, there are a lot of videos on the Invictus range and a fair amount, like this on the Summit guns. How would you rate the Eclipse Curve though?.....there's very little out there on that particular animal.
I bought a CG Flyway last year and first session shooting it the action would break open after firing the top barrel. I took it back and they cleaned the internal action and it fixed it. Still not 100% sure what the issue was
And the difference is worth twice the price, i used to have a 686, now casesar invictus. If i knew better when i bought my 686, i would have gone straight to the invictus
Very interesting john i was looking at a summit at the BBS but decided against it! How does the invictus stack up against the likes of prosport, ultra xs pro, 694 and blaser f16?
I am in my 3rd season with my summit and it has 25,000+ rounds through it. Works great. In the review I heard him mention things get a bit loose around 80,000 rounds. I will shoot this gun for another 3 years and then maybe move up to my forever gun.
@@williamhuffer6954 Yes I do, but I was able to get a deal on a demo Invictus just a couple weeks ago so selling the Summit. If this deal didn't come up I would still be happy shooting the summit.
The finish on the stock is very good initially, after use the stock will tarnish and go patchy. Look over the ribs very very thoroughly as defects have be known including the optical illusion that I’m told is caused by blueing the barrels when they have been too hot. I’ve had the loose solider, double discharges, discharging live cartridges 😂 and tarnishing to the action, finally got a new gun made from themselves and touch wood as at least been reliable the last 3 years but that’s not to say some of the above characteristics haven’t shown their ugly faces. Not to mention Anglo Italia can be a complete and utter pain in the ass to deal with All in I like my CG .....would I have another “probably not, better the devil you know with the one I already have”
So what is the U.K. opinion on this actions reliability? The reason I ask is , shooting in Canada and some clubs in Michigan , I have seen more C.G.'s break in the middle of a weekend tourny than any other gun. I've always liked the look of the reviewed action, and am impressed by the amount of finishing work on the internals. But. Having seen so many of them break down , it's a bit off putting. I believe the most common issue has been the gun starts doubling. Any defenders? Opinions? Gunsmith comments? They are a beautiful gun.
Not once have i seen one break down in my club in Denmark 🇩🇰 and in Denmark You are only allowed to shoot steel.. really no problems at all. Havin a Miroku as well. Have also owned an older Beretta and i did not have any problems with that neither.
Brilliant review Johnny felt like one of your old reviews no rushing through it full of useful facts and honest opinion well done keep it up

Have my summit since 06.. no issues and still as tight as the day I bought it....
Same is true of my 120 yo Greener or Parker.

I love my challenger ascent! I’ve probably ran 15k round or so through it over the last few years. It’s never once skipped a beat!
Nice overview Jonny, I have an Invictus VII so would be interested to hear the differences when you show us in due course.
Awesome, would love to see one on the invictus aswell, since as you said, its way better, but then the questions pops up in your mind, why?

Good one , how about the same , in depth review on a DT10 or DT11 as lots of people use, abuse and own these.
In your opinion what is the better action the Cesar greeny and Victor’s or the Blaser F3?

I like honesty.
Awesome review. They're quite pricey. Here in Canada, for a price of one Guerini you can get 2 Beretta Silver Pigeons.
And the difference is worth twice the price, i used to have a 686, now casesar invictus. If i knew better when i bought my 686, i would have gone straight to the invictus
They are 100% worth the difference.
Hi John, would You recommend buying Temper range of Caesar Guerini?
Very interesting john i was looking at a summit at the BBS but decided against it! How does the invictus stack up against the likes of prosport, ultra xs pro, 694 and blaser f16?
I suggest u do a review on a J&W Tolley, provided u think its worth one
Interesting and different ejector arrangement
Thanks for the amazing vid
Comparing Caesar Guerini and Browning in the same sentence is like comparing rizzotto to chicken fried rice! Browning being chicken fried rice.
Chicken fried rice is better or worst that rizzotto?
@@vitezslavbulva6378 chicken fried rice is less desirable.
@@timeverett7828 at now I understand 😀because I have old browning gti and new cg... Cg is better and pretty 😍

So, is the Sporting Summit a good buy for say 2000-3000 rds a year or should I look for something more robust?

On a side note chokes, hard case, palm swell standard recoil pad triggers pull’s are all decent
I'll stick with mechanical triggers
Pass.

Never seen any of these issues... lots of Internet banter but no proof.
Tim Everett I agree my invictus 3 has never let me down nor did my summit sporting but I did clean and oil them ?

Jon, you could also use another light umbrella on your upper left. Thanks for making these.
