    Just have to add this - all .925 sterling silver that is NOT coated will tarnish. The speed of tarnishing depends on many factors - air exposure, humidity, individual skin chemistry, etc. The reason you might not see tarnish on other .925 SS jewelry is that it is often coated with rhodium or other non tarnish substance., just depends on what the manufacturer decides to do. Pandora has always taken the route of NO coatings that is why some of the sales assoc. say 100% silver when what they mean is NO coatings. It is still the same .925 SS and not junk and it will tarnish to varying degrees. Use the polishing cloth before it gets overly tarnished and wear it. (also keeping it stored out of the open air helps).

    If your Pandora bracelet is full of grime and the charms are tarnished, and you just know that it needs cleaning, you may be wondering if you could maybe take it back to the nearest Pandora store to have it cleaned. The good news is that you can, and the best part is that you won’t have to pay for the service.

    Oh no. I can't believe you are suggesting this for Pandora. I've done this before. It even removes the oxidation from engraved words and makes the inside of the clips which are meant to be oxidized all funky. Also some of the Pandora went a funny yellow tint. I don't recommend doing baking soda. In my 10+ years of collecting it was only when I tried this that I wrecked some.

      @@modelchic9961 I store my Pandora in proper Pandora jewellery boxes. They are anti tarnish. Never store Pandora in the square ones that come free with your purchase. Unless they are the special GWP ones. Even alot of jewellery boxes from stores are anti tarnish. Once your Pandora is tarnished though or even before it gets that bad, I use a few drops of dishwashing liquid like morning fresh and warm water to soak my Pandora. Take the bracelets etc apart though. Don't ever soak pearls, opals, or essence charms. Pandora has instructions for cleaning on their website too. After I soak for up to 10mins I usually add a bit more hot water again to make it warm again and use a soft toothbrush to rub the charms etc. A cotton bud can be good to clean inside the charm. I do a second lot of warm water to rinse them. The process can be repeated if the charms are very bad. I just dry on a tea towel or paper towel. After they are dry, I use a good quality polishing cloth to polish the charms etc. Connoisseurs polishing cloth are the brand I use. I hope this helps.

    Umm baking soda... no thanks especially if the Pandora jewelry has stones, enamel, etc., this will be a disaster and common sense should probably tell you this. Also to those that are saying how badly their pieces are tarnishing... a couple of things could be happening. 1. you're not wearing the piece(s) enough, 2. the piece is not being stored properly (those little white polishing bags Pandora gives you are amazing), 3. you could be using soaps, lotions or perfumes that are causing it to change color.

      That’s sterling silver, it’s a natural metal so it naturally tarnishes it’s got nothing to do with it being Pandora. I have been buying pandora for ten years for myself (yes men are allowed to wear it) so I have a hefty collection. I put the effort in and I clean and polish every single piece once a month, and not once have I ever experienced tarnishing and all my pieces even the old ones look like they are new from the shop. Why would you spend lots of money on jewellery to not look after it? I personally use and ultra sonic machine with a silver polishing cloth

    I just did this with mine and knew what to expect. Yes, it will take off ALL patina whether purposefully there or not. Good news...it will return, silver tarnishes. Those little grooves will be filled in again soon with black. Why do you think people always had silver polishing days, true sterling tarnishes. This is actually the only safe way of polishing silver all creams and chemicals take a layer of the silver off, weakening it with time. This is the only method that will not weaken the silver. Any brown spots left behind is due to oxidation that will get better with buffing. If you are left with yellow looking silver it's from the oxidation of silver and hydrogen, which is in the air...use a polishing cloth then. You can take your bracelets and charms to a professional and they will still get all the patina out of the grooves. All the extra patina does is allow you to see the designs up close when you first buy, it's basically for first-time out of the store decoration purposes only.

    I would never use the baking soda method butThis is something I’ve done for years whether it’s fashion jewelry I’ve bought or pieces I’ve made myself. Some of you may have tried this as well and I’ll tell you now, this works. As soon as you purchase or make the jewelry, Simply take a high quality clear nail polish. Polish everything that is gold or silver plated and sterling silver. Before doing this, cover your work area with packaging tape. The reason is while your jewelry is drying, it will not stick to your work area and look “tacky” afterwards. Also, instead of putting your jewelry (other than rings) in a jewelry box, hang them on a jewelry hanger. Depending on how often you wear your pieces, this method should last for some time. You’ll know when it’s time to repeat the process but this method saves all engraving and no scratches. Hope this helps, works for me!!

      I honestly think Pandora isn't selling quality jewelry , They only care about selling the name for people to buy who can say they have it. I say start caring about the quality of your products , They should have more respect for their customers. And when their customers bring up issues with the jewelry quality , They shouldn't blame the customers for the jewelry turning colors.

      They don't have that, plus manufacturing is in Thailand or something so you can easily buy for 10x cheaper from sellers who get their stuff from the factory directly. I bought $80 worth of bracelets and charms, all confirmed sterling silver and they look great. Easier to replace than take care of

    • @thomashiscocks7348
      @thomashiscocks7348 3 роки тому

    Wow, Please DO NOT use baking soda on your jewellery as it will remove the oxidization in the words and crevasses that is supposed to be there, to show the detail and characteristics of your charms. This detailing has been put there on purpose by pandora themselves! Do you see how the words 'pandora' on the bangles clasp is alot less readable now? That is because you just stripped the detailing of oxidization! This is how you ruin your pandora and as a result makes resell value alot less.

    • @AllysaMuller

      Lovelybeauty13 Add a small squirt of very mild washing up liquid in a pot or plastic bowl to warm water and agitate it to make it frothy in the water a little then put your bracelet and lose charms in don't put wood ones in and use a soft bristle toothbrush gently on them to loosen dirt on your jewellery items and soak them for a little while longer then rub dry with a clean soft cloth that's what Pandora suggest you do and they sell the polishing cloths in store not sure if they have them online 😃 I don't know how the Shine collection will fair with this method has I don't have any of that kind maybe someone else could tell you about this or further research it online to be sure. Ps I like to blow in the hole in the charm to help dry it from water residue

    Do NOT follow the instructions on this video! This works for pure silver (100% sterling) Pandora products have 5% nickel which reacts to the baking soda and causes damage. I’ve had to send my rings back because the baking soda has completely ruined them. Pandora are trying to save them but I have little hope. I better get some money together to buy them again because this video lost me my rings! Im lucky i only used this once on my bracelet and charms and earrings otherwise it will be the same story
