I was visiting green Dolphin street this evening and looked you up again and this video. His refreshing to listen to this lesson again and your chorus out was killer. You sure plsy nice stuff!!! Thanks 🙏
Great stuff - I learnt Green Dolphin Street when I was a young boy (and at one time was a promising jazz musician), but unfortunately had to take a long long break from playing piano/organ - just recently took it up again nearly 30 yrs later and this is still the first tune that always comes into my head. It's a beautiful chord sequence when done tastefully - I think there is a real art to getting the juxtaposition right between the first 8 bars and the second.
Wowww man! Thank you very much for this amazing lesson! I could understand it with no big deal! You are an amazing teacher and player! And what a player!!! Insane solo in the end! Cheers and congrats from Brazil! 😜❤👏🎹🎶
You changed my understanding about 4th voicings in a couple of minutes from 0.5/10 to 9/10 (that's what I say now ;-))! You showing that the minor 4th voicing was actually coming from the sub dominant was an eye opener! Now I will finally be able to use that sound appropriately (I hope)! Could almost immediately play together with you (except the end of course). Thanks Kent! Even your camera was overwhelmed during your solo ;-)
Both keys are commonly used. I suggest learning songs in more than when one key if possible. I often do vids in key of C to help out with the beginners.
Another great lesson. Do you know what is interesting is as I keep following your lessons, then my hands seem to know what chord they should play next. Really appreciate u taking time for this
Etihw Hsart Thanks! This was a subject I wanted to cover, but I didn't have a plan, so I appreciate the positive feedback. Hope to get the lead sheet up soon.
Hi Kent... You are welcome! Ridgefield Park... sounds like North Jersey?! I like Dolphin Street alot also...Nice melody n chord changes! I will be checking out n watching MORE of your UA-cam jazz piano tutorials... THANKS for sharing your advanced keyboard knowledge... Paul Barrett Glendora NJ

+Paul Barrett Hi Paul, I lived in Ridgefield Park years ago. Thanks for letting me know. That video was really "off the cuff" and is kind of "un-noticed" so it's very gratifying to hear someone appreciates it. That's also one of my favorite tunes. Good luck!
I just watched this one. Once again the harmonies you develop are just so tasteful and pleasing. Such harmony stirs up real emotion. This would be a great addition to your music downloads if you had time to spare. The other song you have with a few 4th voicings and which I really like is your version of Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered (referred to by my teacher as BBB). Thanks again for all your selfless help to others.
Thanks, John, I always appreciate your thoughtful, complimentary comments. Sometime when I get some extra time, I'd like to write this one out. I guess you've probably checked out my other vids on fourth voicings, etc.? ua-cam.com/play/PLFuMibnl_h5bkLGP3RzcXDhN1tMTaWY1i.html
That score might have been deleted. However there is a similar exercise of 4th voicings on the song Summertime, from another KH video. Go to Free Music Downloads; Summertime, 4th Voicings Videos are here: ua-cam.com/video/kJHsdGsf00o/v-deo.html&pbjreload=10 ua-cam.com/video/WZgod7qnJPM/v-deo.html

Nice lesson, really great, I think I have a better understanding about 4th voicing now.
BTW, do u have any videos about how to do the piano comping over a walking bass and at the same time the melody is presented by vocal?
I have videos using bass lines. ua-cam.com/play/PLFuMibnl_h5bORWqQU6VSD9egXLBEtJ38I.html don't have any videos with singers, just solo piano, so far.

It's a common song found in most fake books. Sorry, I don't have a score on my website.
