People are misremembering how good Bethesda's games are. Their problem isn't that they're games are worse than they used to be, it's that other studios are better than them now and their game design hasn't evolved and kept up. People were saying Fallout 4 felt dated back in 2015.
Third person Halo is a nice option to have. Now just get rid of the off-brand armor sets like Samurai and glowing cat ears. Add playable Elites and female Spartans.
Let me explain what i meant on my statements on Shattered Space. I went back and listened to the podcast and i was not clear what i meant. When i was comparing this to older Betehsda titles i was talking about from a pure options on what you can do felt like it was just one faction and nothing besides that. When we got into other studios that do it i was talking about comparing Bethesda to other RPG studios at that time.

Dark brotherhood, fighters guild, mages guild and thieves guild were elder scrolls quest lines. Fallout 4 had brotherhood of steel, the rail road, the institute and the minutemen quest lines. Starfield has crimson fleet, vanguard, freestar collective and ryujin industries quest lines. So the options for side quest factions has remained consistent throughout all of their games so I would say that’s disingenuous to say the options aren’t there and you weren’t talking about branching paths and choices in their stories, which they have never had. And again, all of your other criticism toward starfield I would say is valid, just not that one.
@@LordAddictILP if you want to compare this to previous dlc then I would say it falls short of dragon born dlc from Skyrim or far harbor from fallout 4 since it’s about the same price as those expansions. That to me is a fair criticism. Or saying it feels like a side quest line that was pulled from games launch then yeah, that’s fair too. But to say starfield doesn’t have the same output with different faction quest lines like fallout or elder scrolls is just wrong as I pointed out before. But other than that your criticism towards Bethesda is pretty valid and I agree with most of what you said, just not that one.
The Gamepass marketing thing is still not fully there as the COD UA-cam channel had no Xbox branding or Gamepass and you can be share the TV spots won't either. They can only advertise it to their existing fan vase meaning the casuals won't know.
Ubisoft is such a weird place right now. They just made one of the greatest Metroidvanias of all time with Prince of Persia, but because it was not the remake of the old trilogy, the fans were pissed and did not buy the game, despite it genuinely being one of the best entries in the entire franchise. They spend all this money and development time on big budget games and rush them out the door before they are finished, make huge promises they cannot fulfill, and then do not bother marketing the smaller games that review well (like PoP). I think they need whole new management. Gut the executives at top and put in new people who are competent. As for Halo and the new 3rd person mode. It looks really cool. I have been with Halo since the beginning, but I am not some jaded asshole that cannot enjoy anything new or different unless it is a reskin of 2 or 3. Halo cannot survive as a brand if it does not evolve. Halo is not the top dog anymore. Arena shooters are not popular any more. Even with a big name like Halo, it is not bringing in new people, new blood. A new perspective might do that, even if it is only a little. Let Infinite try new things while Halo Studios makes the next Halo game. Besides, if you can see your Spartan more, you are more incline to buy armor cosmetics. It is just smart and fairly cheap to do.

Sorry but I have to respectfully disagree about the Bethesda stuff Addict. If you have played all of their games then you should know that Bethesda does not usually do branching quest lines in their stories or side quests, other than Fallout 4. Every other game’s quest lines have no choices to choose from. They tell the story that Bethesda wants to tell and you either enjoy it or you don’t. Especially in Elder Scrolls 3, 4 and 5. You have the main quest which no real choices and then you have dark brotherhood, mages guild, thieves guild and fighters guild with no real choices in any of those quest lines in any of those 3 elder scrolls games. So you are wrong about the choices and diverting paths in Bethesda games. Don’t believe me, go back and play them. Love the cast though and y’all are killing it!!
I think people play skyrim one time, then all the 'decision' or questlines they didn't do become mythical endless opportunities in their mind and over time (over a decade now) it becomes this urban legend about how much RPG choice is in the average bethesda game. More discerning game reviewers have been calling bethesda RPGs as wide as an ocean as shallow as a puddle since Oblivion, plenty of Fallout fans disliked FO3 before the 'you just hate xbox' accusations could be levied at them because its just a lesser RPG than what they franchise was

Yeah, im trying to enjoy the DLC but the constant stuttering, bugs, and they added very little . Just finished it and it’s a 6/10. Game needs a massive update to fix those bugs and optimization but doubt that will happen anytime soon
Bethesda were never there, they made very compelling RPGs when consoles were starved for them, but they've been lesser and lesser than Morrowind every time out since Morrowind
