Fantastic Beakthrough lets hope it has the desired affect
We need this device over in the UK. i would love to have this.
I think they gave me the wrong implant I have the ability to hack stuff with my head now
I'm having this surgery on the 29th of june to help me with my epilepsy
Matthew Vecchioni has it helped you brother
Jesse stickyP's to be honest man it's just another day a waste of time doing it state paying 88 grand just to do the surgery. Got to carry a large magnet with me and get stuck to every thing
Matthew Vecchioni cost of surgery
Hey bro. I saw you say in your earlier comment that it wasn't worth it, but I was just wondering if now, a year later, is your opinion still the same? Has it helped your seizures at all? Cause I'm thinking of doing this for my epilepsy but I'm reeeeally iffy about it
@@kainoakanoe No I'm still having multiple seizures I switched to medical marijuana that seems to help more then a 88 thousand dollar item put in my head. I cant do anything anymore
Thank you for creating a miracle machine in aiding and helping to stabilize a persons seizures, is this in Canada we have a very beautiful loving mother of two who has just had an unfortunate seizure in Ottawa Canada Ontario she has two kids has been having them from 5 years and up her seizure is 10 hours ago with the result of a coma and is in the Ottawa Carlton Queensway hospital her name is Meryl Susan Clarke any help would be deeply appreciated thank you ..
Brain implant. Imagine if there was a brain hard drive and you were able to store memories and experiences in the future and send them to others.
So does the devise have to be taken out every few years or what?
Jacqueline Ben-Meyer I got this surgery about 2 years ago, the RNS system stays in permanently, and it’s a battery plugged in that runs it. Around every 5-6 years just the battery needs to be changed. Quick and easy.
Can i also ask what are peoples reactions when they wake up from the procedure or therapy ?
Are they very drouzy, do they loose their memory etc., is their a chance of becoming paralyzed ?
I have had my RNS surgery about a half year ago. I was a lil nervous at first, but once my surgery was finished, I woke up and felt the same and didn’t lose any memory or anything. Getting the RNS system isn’t just all of a sudden going to work, just gotta be a lil patient and few adjustment on the device threw time and eventually the RNS system will be set right to control most all seizures. It turned out working positive for me. My seizure are slowly stopping, an by being patient and having the Doctors slowly adjusting the device. Then test the RNS threw out some time to see if the epilepsy has decreased.
Adam Karpinen
I really wish from the bottom of my heart that it works well for you
Do Mohamed, thank you very much.
???
Oh he'll no!
Why
Do not do it. All they said to my sister after cutting her head open is SORRY. We cann
Is their any side effects of getting this implant for epilepsy ?
Scotland’s Smooth i have one. There’s usually no side effects. I ended up having very slight visual disturbances when the device activates because it partially stimulates my occipital lobe(in charge of vision), but it’s not debilitating or anything like that. The nueropace rep and neurologist said Im the first reported case of something like this, but I suspect theres probably others. Like I said, its not a big deal. Other than that, you just need to be mindful of not damaging the device as it can cause you harm aswell(ie if you box or do contact sports, you probably wont be able to do them anymore or atleast modify how you do them.) I do jiu jitsu, and I just wont compete because people tend to go pretty hard at competitions because they have something to prove.
I saw some of your other questions below. Ill try and answer them later
It took away a lot of my memory I can't remember what I read anymore
Jr tabor - do you regret doing it? It’s my only option and I don’t know if I will regret it. What advice would you give ?
No. It’s not in the skull
and wires ran TO THE BRAIN???
Yes; there are wires. It's like the VNS, but it is in the brain.
For a hospital with such revolutionary medical technology, it’s shocking how little you focus on patient satisfaction. I didn’t even have a chance to discuss this with my provider, Dr. Silvia Neme Mercante, because you dismissed me from the practice for complaining about side effects.

Don't ever get this!!! I did and I can now not understand what I read and my memory is not good enough to rember what I did one hour ago!!!! It is better to have seizures trust me I have had them all my life and it is better to have your memory than this thing It will just make your life worse!!!!!!
I have a similar problem though I had a surgery to remove a brain tumor that created my epilepsy so that thing you are describing could also just be the same effects of surgery on an epileptic. My memory went to shit and I feel like I'm way dumber.
Did you get a surgery on your brain or just got this device implanted?
Just the device was implanted
