11:28 2023 Art Recap
This felt so metaphysical and philosophical “we will reach new highs of spectacle and new lows of insight”
Well, it is philosophical in nature, isn't it? Trying to understand what generative AI, and in connection with that also creating art, actually is and does.
This feels great, doesnt it. Talking about a bad thing in an elegant play of words. I cant explain why
I like the little plant sprout 🌱 on your hair 😆
Sinix one of the few people who still make 1h content full of nice stuff
You are completely right about AI. It’s laziness that drugs your mind and boosts your ego and illusion of knowing and doing ‘good’ art.
AI has just solidified my passion for art and my desire to keep making it. Because now, making art is an act of rebellion
Love hearing your voice man! Keep up your hard work in the community. You may not feel it but you have a huge impact here
What a beautiful way to look at the state of AI threats right now! Amazing analyses, Sinix! HPNY!!
out of all the art youtubers i watch ur the one i look forward to seeing a post from, even if its just a few times a year

2023 was a great year of Sinix indeed!
hell yeah, Nurzhan and his style! Been there too!
I loved your Dr. Eggman clone in various poses and situations. They're such fun drawings.
Amazing!
So early here!!! Hi sinix, you are an inspiration, keep the great work, I want to be just like you
Upon u mentioning it i noticed a lot of focus on simplified indirect light and values, really cool! Reminds me of Ryan Lang's paintings
YAY SINIX
This is such a cool discussion
SINIX IM SO EARLY HI!!! (love the art)
after almost 10 years of half time break...corner kicks is back babyyyyyyyyy
Ah, ive been waiting for this. Already rewatched all the past recaps cause i couldnt wait.
31:30 I definitely miss the old rough brush, btw. Airbrush is just the most boring tool in the whole digital toolset.
i sat through every ad
Love the Skate Witches concept! It's so similar to a comic idea I had circa 2015-2016 inspired by the real-life feminist skating group Brujas! (Though I sadly never saw it through)
ahh... good ole yearly recaps video
Another year has passed dayum
1:11:20 The world you were talking about is an rpg book called The Wildsea, QuinnsQuest has a nice video on it.
Nice hat❤️
hey man. happy new year
Damn, it feels like it was only yesterday I was watching 2022s recap
Love from india pune♥️( i learn a lot from u) mainly from anatomy videos
UA-cam algo failed me on this one. Great work last year!
pleaseee do a video on teeth! I have so much difficulty drawing those.
This is your best year end review yet! And thanks for not going into government/politics on this one! I'm just here for art advice not politics.
Sinix, where did you start studying color?
time goes by quick dont it
I for one would be really interested in a filigree video (of whatever length) if you were looking for an excuse to practice
RIP Gorb. Never saw that NFT landslide coming, rest easy soldier.

Can you please make a tutorial on metal and armor, your last armor video was 12 years ago, ill appreciate it, thanks
Alolan Charnold made me think that you need to get on a Drawfee episode xD
For AI I'm excited about its ability to fill gaps. Full image gen sucks, but if I could give it a keyframe animation and style guide and get a smooth end result, that enables me to tell the stories I want to tell. So I think largely AI will be a net positive and we need better systems to expose us to the stuff we want to see and not get spammed with AI garbage.
Oj jeezuz were 8 years from corner kick
JASON!!
i miss your tutorials man 😔 hope you're doing alright
Can you make a video about triangle or idk like graffiti or applying graffiti style to drawings
YIPPIE
Jason! Why does the darkness elope???
great display of giraffetsmanship

1:05:55 The three genders: masculine, feminine, anime
Your videos always help me to get my creative process started. Cheers!
On the topic of AI in art - my position aligns with yours. I think that Generative AI is going to remind and really force people to think more big picture. AI excels (and honestly blows humans out of the water) at highly repetitive and literal tasks. I try to frame this with the development of digital art tools. Digital art did not destroy the development of art, but rather made it more accessible and helps people speed up their process. AI has this same ability, as long as people remind themselves that it is a tool not an end process. Otherwise we will lose mileage and practice. Like you said, we are bound to lose some great potential, but hopefully humanity prevails!
Cheers from the big apple, and happy new year!
this. I think so many people instantly hate AI and overlook how helpful it can be to artists as a tool. I feel like artists felt a similar way about the camera when it first came out. Who needs an artist for the royalty portrait when you can take a simple shot and it will be faster, cheaper, and way more precise than an artist ever could be. But did we stop doing portraits cause of cameras? do we still hate them today, or is using a camera in different ways a whole art form itself due to the intent and choices the photographer puts behind it. I personally love doing studies and a camera is a perfect tool to aid in getting instant and consistent reference material!
@@mochisun9190 I don't know why the camera argument is brought up so much. A photograph is a small subset of what an image can be. It can't threaten paintings. AI on the other hand can create any type of image, be it painting, photograph or anything else. The comparison doesn't work.
The tool argument is also strange to me. A hammer doesn't build the whole house by itself. Tools are things people use to create. The AI creates without you. You are relegated to being the commissioner (through prompt instead of email).
I would love if people continue getting paid to paint by hand, but I don't see how that happens in a world with AI and capitalism.
@oredaze the camera argument is brought up so much because of how drastically it changed the scene of the arts. There were many at the time who truly thought photorealism was going to be killed and as a result, other concepts and techniques were soon sought after, eventually leading to the creation of surrealism. You might not think it matters, and that AI art is going to kill much of 2d, but I'm fairly certain this is just a trend that will continue until robots gain complete sentience, and we'll have a much bigger dilemma to think about at that point LOL. And I kinda get what you're trying to say about the tool argument but it seems the same to me. You set up your composition irl and then use a camera to bring it to 2d, same with AI but you can do it with words. I think the pains of AI art come from its lack of creativity. When we commission a digital artist we can understand the artist, human to human, and this makes the process so much nicer, whereas with AI you REALLY gotta know how to work it and even then some things just feel so out of reach as far as prompts go. The biggest criticism I've heard from an aesthetic perspective regarding AI art is how boring or mundane visuals feel and I think that'll continue to be a problem until the AI can truly reason with human logic and pull from actual artistic experience instead of just compiling random 2d aspects until it satisfies a prompt.
@@mochisun9190 Did not really see you addressing what I said, so I am going to paraphrase: cameras can't paint dragons that's why painting still exists. AI can do anything a painter can do, if not now then soon.
If it doesn't quite do as good of a job as a person that just makes things worse for the art world as a whole, because we get the fast food version of art, which will rot content. Already happening. Have you searched for a good wallpaper recently, for example?
I think people saying that AI art is boring or mundane is a cope (even if it's born from good intentions). To me it looks amazing, until you zoom in on it and see how it's rendered (badly). That is the current problem it has, not it's design capabilities. See my previous note about wallpapers. But we are still in the infant stages. I think ahead. That's why I am scared. And if it becomes sentient... well then art will be the least of our worries. But there is no sign it can do that.
I am the first person to pray that I am wrong on this and companies have souls, thus will choose human happiness over profit, but at the same time can't bury my head in the sand.
Just as you mentioned Sycra, I went to check his channel, and it looks like it was hacked =/ His channel now leads to some bitcoin scam AI livestream.
The “State of art jobs” seems no existent at the moment….at least that’s how it feels for me
Owo
As a digital artist, the ability to be able to sell an "original" digital piece at a premium didn't seem silly at all. Back to worthless we go
*promosm*
Hello Sinix, do you know what channel @MicroStrategyIive is? It is now for sure a hacked channel that promotes SCAMS. They deleted everything of the original owner except community posts which show they streamed with you 11 months ago. I hope the person is able to recover the channel and 800k subs. A shame their work got deleted.
It's Sycra, and they should be able to revert it once youtube gets around to fixing it.
@@sinixdesign Damn that sucks. Been a fan of him for a very long time. Can't believe he has 800k. :d thanks
"Success in money is about how much you can hoard to yourself but success in art has always been about how much you can spread and how far you can reach."
This comment really stuck with me. May I quote you on this @Sinix Design?
You inspired me to make an art UA-cam Channel.
