Update on our review:
I’m kind of bummed about this review. Out of the box, I loved this figure and was just so excited to show everyone. I wasn’t having issues at first, as seen in this video, but last night I tried to repose him and the arm broke into 6 pieces. It took a solid hour to put it back together and I had to use glue. I have to suggest that you don’t buy this figure until they fix these issues.
Update from Sideshow:
Dear valued collector,
By now, you have received your General Grievous Sixth Scale Figure and sadly this item has not met with either our high standards or the quality expectations that you should expect from Sideshow. In short, we've failed you.
We apologize, and we want to make it right.
To start, we will be adding $10 in Sideshow Rewards to your account simply for having to deal with this unexpected issue and to thank you again for being a customer, a fan, and a fellow collector.
Secondly, for those of you experiencing issues with loose arms and restricted poseability, we have identified and corrected the issue. New primary joints will be automatically shipped out to you free of charge. The current estimated arrival for these replacements is 4 to 6 weeks.
The process for swapping out the primary joints is very straightforward, and we'll be sending out instructions in the coming weeks to demonstrate.
If this does not resolve issues you may be experiencing with the figure, or if you would simply prefer a full refund, we are happy to accommodate that - this will include your NRD (non-refundable deposit).
Our Customer Support team is here if you need to reach out, or if you have any further questions or concerns.
Once again, we want to thank you for your understanding and patience.
Please accept our deepest apologies.
The Sideshow Team
Im glad they are stepping up and acknowledged they screwed up. Mine came with all arms with super loose joints and they sadly made no improvements from the first edition like they stated. Unfortunately this is all we have when it comes to 1/6 Grievous. Dont see a Hot Toys version happening any time soon.
@@FnNeff0129 will you be keeping yours ? I’m still debating on mine
Daaaaamn....
I gotta say, $10 is not nearly enough of a reimbursement, considering how incredibly expensive these collectibles are. 😂
@@Vandicoup I was thinking that! What sort of compensation is that haha
“I will make a fine addition to my collection.”
Oh Jesus I’m buying this now that’s great!!!
Lol, it’s full of issues.
Please dont
Wait you buy these figures I thought you were only bought legos I’m a fan btw XD
@@beastoptics6016 he has a collecting channel just doesn’t post
@@beastoptics6016 He collects full on figures on his other channel "MandRCollects." He hasn't posted for a while tho.
I would've got this, but I've seen so many issues about him coming broken, breaking within a short time etc, might wait to see if they sort the issues out.
Agreed. I'll wait and pray hot toys does one . Hopefully one day cause almost 300 with shipping is alot for something that most has had issues with.
@@somersfamily I would suggest to just get it, as did I, and look past some of the issues. Take your time with it, we know it's delicate, but in person and on shelf under lights, it's amazing along with hot toy pieces such as dooku and geonlsis droids. It's worth it in the end once it's locked into pose for display
@@thomasthetank827 I may have to wait now cause they pushed it back. But I do have alot of sideshow points so maybe I can put that down. Appreciate the info
Curse your positivity and joy in these figures. I had been able to resist these amazing figures for quite some time and now am starting to pre-order a bunch of them. Keep up the great work!
Great unboxing you guys! So glad to see that yours doesn't have any issues Michael - been reading the stories about the joints.
Wow these are all just too awesome! Fun to see you both enjoying and sharing your reaction and the details.
I have said this before but you guys really do make some of the most enjoyable unboxing videos.
An unboxing as chaotic and fun as Grevious himself 🙌🏾
I’m really loving these unboxings. Even though I can’t afford the Sideshow figures, it’s fun to live vicariously through Michael and Greg.
1:6 scale and 1:12 scale means that 1cm or 1inch in those scales equals to 6 cm or 12 cm in real life. Like, if you have a drawing that says 1:100, it means that if you mesure 1cm in the drawing, you're measuring 100cm if it was in real life.
if you put a clone trooper in 1:6 scale, it will round the 30cm. those 30cm will be multiplied by 6 and you have the size of your action figure if it was made in real life size. That greivous is like around 45cm maybe so it's 45x6 and you have his size in real life.
Hope it will help Greg undertsanding scales :D
I’m here for ALL the review and unboxing stuff. Keep it coming! Rex isn’t far away…
Absolutely love the video. This seems like a figure I'd LOVE to look at but have a breakdown just trying to move
Looks like you guys got lucky with this guy! Most people are having a plethora of QC issues, unfortunately.
That sucks. Have you reached out to customer service? They’ve always been really great to me
what a great and fun review of this figure & the others! so excited for what you guys put out next :)))
love these videos guys!! Can never have too many!! Keep em coming!!
Great video !! Love those figures. The general Grievous is amazing .
I love your display room!! I want to do something similar with the way you display helmets
awesome reviews! makes me want to see your collection, maybe a future video!?
Welcome to Mouthin Around... haha. I know the camera angle and framing had to be hard to get the right amount of figure in there.
Also find someone that looks at you the way Michael looks at the clasps on Grievous cape. LOL
Not gonna lie you guys got lucky. Everyone else who got this figure either got it broke or had many problems with it. The fact that you got the arms to stay and pose it without any problems is beyond belief. I personally decided to pass simply because I don't want to risk getting a broken figure. But overall great review. Glad you guys enjoyed it.
I’ve been learning that. Wild how mine was fine. I’m really happy to see sideshow doing the right thing though! That’s good of them
Great stuff dudes! 🔥
That thing is a beast! I have the Black Series figure, but this thing blows that one away
Bit sad that you have to swipe another figure's stand just to stand him up, at this price... he do be looking amazing though. Bit too tall for my taste, i wouldn't know where to put him.
How does everyone have theirs already? Mine still wont let me pay the shipping off to receive the figure. Im not sure why
This gives me hope - mine arrives today, and have heard so many issues with it that apparently you guys haven't experienced.
What’s your thought on the figure ?
@@Kioegaming I haven't tried posing it with the double arms, but kept the single arms it comes with already on, and they haven't been too loose. I think the main problem is that it has such long spindly limbs and its top-heavy, that it is very difficult to pose, period. Also, I do not think it can be posed in the upright position without the base, or it will just fall over, and the base that comes with it is a piece of #$@%! - its too small, the feet barely fi on it in a standing pose. I knew there were issues with the figure before I ordered it, so not too surprised, but I really wanted a sixth scale Grievous for my collection.
I think the eye brows or eye sockets are a little too angry if that makes sense. But otherwise it looks accurate, of course it’s gonna be a little flimsy. But ratchet joints would help, or just make it out of metal lol
The secret to making Grievous pose properly is spend an extra twenty bucks buy him a dynamic stand and you can get a lot of poses out of him and you so much easier to maneuver. As far as the loose joints go get this stuff called Museum putty it's reusable and will not hurt to figure it's kind of like Silly Putty a little bit goes a long way just take a little piece of it stick it in the hole and then take the peg of the arm and push it in. And the looseness it pretty much all go away and if it doesn't just add a little bit more Museum putty. You can get both of the Dynamic stand for about 15 bucks on eBay in the museum putty goes for about 5. You can even put some of the museum putty on the bottom of the stand so the stand won't slide. And you can also use the dynamic stand for other figures Museum putty has many uses you can use it on other products as well.
Peep the electrostaff spin tho haha
That's so cool! I need to get a 1/6th scale figure.
Dunno how you bois feel about Kotobukiya, but their Grievous absolutely slaps too! It's a statue though, but he's actually got some posability! And the incredibly accurate and immensely menacing likeness alone is sooo worth it. Pixel Dan's review of it is worth a watch b4 you buy. :)
We actually have gotten a proper scale Grievous before. Hasbro's 3.75-inch Grievous figure from the original The Clone Wars toy line is another perfectly scaled figure. Both the original and revised version of it. If you want one of them, the revised version is an absolute must as the legs are significantly improved. The original's waaay too flimsy and can easy become warped, sadly.
Love it! Could you review the Hot Toys Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike? Because it looks incredible!
Is it just me.or did the foam package style remind anyone of Toy Story 2
Very diplomatic review on a flawed figure…..good job
Mine really wasn’t like so many others. I wasn’t aware of the issues until after we posted our review. Oh well
I'm not sure if they already have, anyone can correct me, but I hope to god they make his MagnaGuards eventually!!
I'm making a clone trooper helmet and want to know if it is okay if I use a clear coat
I use a matte clear coat for animated style and satin for movie style! Good luck
@@RexinAround thanks !
the original release had a battle damaged face, they just re used the molds
this figure is sooo cool
Man I’m sorry that I bought that Grievous. I was hoping it would be improved over the original but it’s not. It’s just a reprint
I love these videos!
How many do you guys have, just the clones and grievous?
I currently have about 30 in my collection but they’ve got me on the pre-orders. Got about 30 more on the way over the next two years
10:40 It's all in the knees!! ;p
This figure is a 9/10 for me. The cape could be slightly better but my biggest issue is the eyes. They just seems slightly off.
8/10 for me my peg joint was broken right out of the box otherwise I like him
It's a POS. Yours was quite a positive review and reaction compared to others I've seen. Breaking straight from the box, fingers falling off, joints not holding in place, weak magnets, all in the same figure. Sideshow should be ashamed of themselves.
As you can tell from my review, I didn’t have the same issues a lot of people have had so I had no barometer of comparison. I’m very happy with the figure but I’m bummed for people who didn’t get what I got. Happy Sideshow is fixing things though.
What was broken ? My peg joint was broken right out of the box
Jedha Patrol had a broken finger out of the box
@@RexinAround oh jeez not good , thanks
miss y’all
miss you too
yaaaaaaas
I don't think it will sell out fast, Sideshow are well known for keeping their figures in stock. Especially ones that sell well. Example ROTJ Luke.
Its cuz they cant sell.
@@HAZARDBLUE actually Luke sold out on their page a few times. They then list him again for pre-order.
My brain hurts listening to them try and understand what 1/6 scale means omg
It’s Greg! Not me 😂 I feel like I understand it well enough but man I can’t explain it I guess
You seem to have gotten very luck with your figure. The general consensus seems to be that it's incredibly poorly made with low quality plastics, engineering, and loose joints. The arm of mine fell into pieces merely from gently bending the elbow the first time. I'm keeping mine because it's the only 1/6 Grievous on the market, but buyers should be aware that this is absolutely not Hot Toys quality. It's worse than most 3rd party unlicensed figures out there and it's 100% not up to 2021 standards (It's a reissue of a figure from 2014 anyway.)
Also, the face pops off because the original figure came with two face plates.
Question, have you contacted customer service and exchanged it? I know that’s a hassle but every time I’ve had to deal with customer service, they’ve been great
@@RexinAround Their customer service is excellent, I'vd dealt with them many times before. I'm in a lot of Facebook groups that are really eloquently vocal about this figure. It seems as though they rereleased the figure from 2014 without any improvements, and if you're in the know, Sideshow has been making some controversial business practices lately. Still excellent customer service, but still. This is in my opinion not the same quality as a Hot Toys figure.
@@Dcomps So have you gotten your Grievous exchanged with a better quality one? What happened there?
@@Vandicoup I asked for a partial refund because someone in my Facebook group posted an official email from Sideshow where they said they could send them a new part if they really wanted them to, but all the figures / parts are like that.
such a stressful video
hello there
Hello there
General Kenobi
It's a crap figure for $300. It's 2014 quality. It should be 2021 quality. It's basically a black series but bigger.
I’m not 100% sure I agree but I do feel like I got a good one. Sounds like some people are having issues and that’s such a bust
I have the new grevious I would not say it’s a black series figure quality not even close
Its crap, i sended back😔
Never buy Sideshow collectibles
I only buy Sideshow Collectibles. They have the best customer service and when they make mistakes, they fix them.
Figure is ass. Please dont sugar coat every figure you review i know yall are new.
New? I have over 40 hot toys and have reviewed dozens of things very critically on my channel. I like what I like and it doesn’t negate that just because you don’t.
Looks really cheap.. Stay away from sideshow 1/6 scale stuff
I hope you don't mind me saying....but this review was WAY too positive for all the issues with this figure. You can tell how frustrating it is for both of you but it was still praised in this vid. You don't have to totally crap on the figure, but you can say how the joints don't work and the sabers don't stay in place. Instead you just say he is "intricate". I feel like this review was dishonest, especially after watching you guys try to pose him.
I had zero expectations for this figure and also had no idea of the back issues around it. We do try to be critical and honest but I think I went into this review without the right expectations. I was so excited to finally have him that I did justify things. With that said, I haven’t had an issue posing him at home like many others have so I genuinely am not very stressed about it. I have seen others suffer from problems since posting this review, so I understand peoples’ frustration. However, it’s clear my experience was different by the evidence in this video.
