  • Hi 👋🏻
    Let’s make some lush arps together! In this tutorial I’m going through the most important techniques, settings and processes on how to get arp sounds that are lively, evolving and beautiful. I’m using the Mother-32 which is sequenced by the lovely @Ableton Probability Arp (Max for Live) but you can apply the techniques to nearly every hardware- or software synthesizer-arp combo.
    Enjoy the video and have a great day,
    Miles

    Thank you!!! and your advise on reverbs and delays probably is true to for most voices/sounds or I don't know, but made me think though. Fks, if you do as you say, but then make a transition or have a break, go ambient for a while or whatever, I guess It would make sense to break those rules... Great video though, perfect pitch, duration and content ratio, and meaningful good and clear information.

      Cheers Jonas and you have a very good point here. I should have mentioned that I treat my FXs also as dynamic parameters: in both Ableton and on the Digis I’m using send FX which is great to tweak the amount while jamming. And then I use higher send amounts in breaks or transitions which I think is a great tool to set a certain mood. Thanks for the good call, should have mentioned that!

      @@MilesKvndra The video is perfect as it is not to complex or specific as in You got to have exactly these modules to do the trick, but also not a bla bla space- time filler, so you can probably make a part two at some point if you want.

    hey miles, very nice sounds. can you share more on the reverb delay. which plugins are used and also i would like to hear the raw sound from the mother. i own one my self but it never sounds so cool like yours. so it must be the effects.

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  Рік тому +1

      Hey Daniel, thank you! I’m using just the Ableton stock chorus, reverb and delay plugins as send effects and tried to set them up like my trusted Digitone FX (just with a little less decay on the reverb). My Digitone FX Settings I explained in this video if you’re interested in that: ua-cam.com/video/Lo3z3vEcPhE/v-deo.html

    Great video Miles and a big thank you. I am a bit lost here. I have a Mother 32 but there is no arpeggiator.
    How did you get it to play arpeggios?
    Is it the way you have patched it?

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  Місяць тому

      You're welcome! Unfortunately the M-32 itself doesn't have an arp so I sequenced it via Ableton Live and used Live's internal arpeggiator

      Okay. I get it now.
      I love my hardware synths like Moog, Lyra etc.
      I was a bit snobby ( or stupid) about using DAWS but they would save me a bomb if I was to use their sequencers and Vallhalla effects?
      Seems the trend now.
      Whats your take on it please?
      Thanks for replying.

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  Місяць тому +1

      @@petercane6376 I have experimented a lot with different setups but for me the best so far is a hybrid setup with DAW + external gear. It’s the most flexible for both playing live and making music in the studio and right now I wouldn’t want to go back to DAWless

    Hey, what do you mean "sequenced by the lovely @Ableton Probability Arp"?? I am new to m32. Is it possible to sequence the synth from a DAW, or do you need a midi controller? Thanks! (I use FL by the way).

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  Рік тому

      Hey, yes I’m sequencing the synth from a DAW (Ableton). The Probability arp is an Ableton MIDI plug-in which I use for that and it’s great because you get some very unique melodies out of it! Not sure if there is something similar in FL though but pretty sure it has an arp MIDI effect

  • @poseid0n703

    Do you also have an idea how to create an arp on the mother 32 itself as well? rn i am working dawless, with a digitakt. But crating an arp is quite hard rn. Thank you very much!

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  9 місяців тому +1

      Creating arps without an arpeggiator is quite hard indeed. With my DAWless setup I also used the Digitakt to sequence the M-32 as I don’t like the M-32s internal sequencer. And the Digitakt has a great sequencer with many creative options!

    • @poseid0n703

      @@MilesKvndra I see. Thanks for answering. When sequencing with the Digitakt, how do you add Glide and Accent and so on to the M-32 then? Sorry for all the questions. I just bought the M.32 but was not sure if i should have gotten the Digitone instead.

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  9 місяців тому

      @@Official_VEA cheers Vea! There are slight differences but I don’t find them very drastically. I think a lot of the sound comes from osc + filter and they are quite similar (at least on M-32 and Sub 25, pretty sure it’s the same for the Sub 37)
