Here's a 100% live - no edits - livestream improvised set I did on an enhanced version of this rig, with a Q&A after: ua-cam.com/video/7JuhsoJq01Q/v-deo.html
Dude, this video is next level incredible. Your instruction is the best I’ve seen on YT. Most videos go instruction OR performance. Or they go instruction for 30 mins, followed by 5 mins of demo performance. You have seamlessly combined instruction and performance in such a beautiful, effortless, and smart way. Your compositions and fluency on these instruments is nothing short of inspiring. I’m so impressed. Thank you for blowing my mind and getting me into these instruments. I just became a patron and subscribed. Amazing work. So much respect.
This is outstanding! Three things I just learned: 1. I devoted three months exploring the Subharmonicon in isolation and in conjunction with the Schillenger system, because it's such an unusual instrument and I understood that going in. And while I still loved it, I felt it was limiting because 2. sometimes I'm slow. I kept the tempo within "normal drum machine range", 10 o'clock and less. The tech manual says the tempo rate is 30 (or whatever) to 3000bpm, not making the connection that long subdivisions such as 13 /7 would need much higher tempos to develop polyrhythms. Your tempo rate was MUCH higher than I used, which changes everything. 3. It also never occurred to me that I need a second DFAM for the highs. I previously assumed that role to be performed by the sequencer + resonance of the Mother. I truly thank you for inspiring me, and I finally feel like I'm ready to create.
You can actually hear the sheer awe and admiration in your voice. Another great presentation, but the best are with the stuff you love. You're not selling it, you're buying it yourself.
Yeah yeah, buy stuff, blah blah, but: PHENOMENAL performancing, one of your best uploads, which is saying something. Well done, well done, highly enjoyed.
Wonderful jams and I can't help but smile seeing your desktop anointed with the newer devices made by such iconic companies as Eventide and Moog. What's old is new.
My Studio3 was just delivered and I plan to unbox and start playing in the morning. I'm super excited and your video has been very informative and inspirational. Thank you!
Unbelievable. That end made me reach that place of peak joy where you can't smile anymore and I just burst out laughing. Sooooo good. Jesus I need this setup
Two DFAMs, a Mom and a Sub is the perfect 4-Moog system. The unbelievably awesome nature of this video proves that. I only wish I could get mine to sound as good as yours!
I have been waiting for someone to make this video! I love it! As an owner of the DFAM and Mother-32 already, I cant wait to get my hands on the Subharmonicon.
I've been so intimidated by modular. They can make amazing sounds, but it always seemed like they weren't spontaneous enough, everything had to be crafted painstakingly bit by bit (the patching process). I'd talk myself out of diving deeper with thoughts like "but what if I just want to JAM?" These three boxes from Moog seem like a great entry for endless spontaneous but still very listenable noodling. Just purchased my Mother 32, it arrives tomorrow. I intend on adding DFAM and Subharmonicon in short order. Thanks for the demo!
Maaan I still come back to this Video every few Months since you released it, just to hear that final Jam at 20:20 again. Gives me a rush every time! One of the best Synth demos on UA-cam, period
This is the best review of all three of these synths that I've seen. I've got a DFAM & Mother 32 & now I have to decide what I'm going to sell to enable me to add a Subharmonicon to the system...
I've got a Mother 32 arriving on Saturday, which will complete the 'Holy Trinity', as I've often called it. Coupled with my Matriarch, I ain't gonna get much sleep... EVER! Great vid man, I've watched this a few times and it was, along with another one you did that convinced me I needed these in my life so I thank ye squire!
When you started playing I got a BIG smile on my face that wouldn't go away until the end of the video. What a freaking awesome setup to just explore, jam and have fun.
I’m new to this synth revolution and thanks to Alex and The Others, I’m now envisioning so much travel to distant galaxies from my living room . Phasers on Stunned.
Incredible. I never listen to jam videos for more than a few minutes but this one had me mesmerised! I so know what I want for Christmas now. Love, love, love!
Great video... I really like what you are doing here. I see this being a fantastic addition for harmonic content in tunes... And thanks for the shout out to Florian. Rest in Rhythm!
The content like that make to set your goal higher. Now i see where i want to be. Time stop in moments like that nothing matters only a next note in endless echo. Thank you my frend.
Very cool man...Love the tutorial/performance hybrid video...Learned some really cool tips that i'm going to incorporate into my style. Thanks!! I'm a fan.
Agree 100%. Kicking myself for not grabbing the other two when I've seen them used, but who could've known this was coming along to tie them all together!?
Same! I actually sold my m32 and DFAM cause it just wasn’t complete, but now I’m kicking myself cause all three together is exactly what I wanted from a setup.
Absolutely brilliant video. Heck...you know your stuff. Just loved listening to all those sounds. I have the subharmonicon and in a few days will have the Mother. But....I just NEED a DFAM. Thanks for everything man. Really really cool beanz.
After all these years I got to say thank you for your demos, Alex! You sold me on the DrumBrute many years back and made it musical while others couldn’t. In the meantime I mastered that machine and managed to make it sound incredibly unique and punchy, also thanks to your techniques. I always loved Moog synths and have used emulations of them in VST for years. But I just couldn’t stop thinking about owning an actual Moog in physical form. You might have pulled it off once again, just like you did many years ago. And if I get the lot here in the studio, I’ll hope to post a similar comment like this to one of your future videos years from now. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re doing many machines justice in ways the original designers only dream of when they’re putting in the first cables on the breadboard.
Love your podcast BTW! Stoked to see you take on the Subharmonicon! Your vids sold me on the DFAM and Mother32 combo. Now it looks like an addition of the Subharmonicon is on the horizon.
Without doubt or any possible challenge the most awesome, jawdropping, masterful, professional demonstration of a newly released electronic instrument ! Superbly Presented !! Great Work !!
Awesome. One moog alone like the DFAM or M32 is pretty impressive but in a combo like this , a superb performative combination! And all warm deep analog too!
Honestly, what an inspiring performance, thank so you much for putting it out in the world! Just beautiful, my friend. I had a few questions regarding sync connections, but NONE of that matters now, I'm just floored by what you've created!
INCREDIBLE. digging myself into a semi-modular moog hole. i don't understand how this stuff works and I am mesmerized. HOW DO I GET MY HANDS ON SOME OF THESE
Goddamnit. A couple of months ago you made me fall in love with the DFAM. Now you made me fall in love with the Subharmonicon. I have to have this now. And maybe even another DFAM.
Here's a 100% live - no edits - livestream improvised set I did on an enhanced version of this rig, with a Q&A after: ua-cam.com/video/7JuhsoJq01Q/v-deo.html
You popped up in my recommended and I am so happy for the algorithm sending me your way! Great stuff 🙌🏼
Thanks m8 x
Thanks I really appreciate Thank you again..
If you're new to Subharmonicon I also did a super direct (13 minute!) tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/Zl0IV3ZyRlI/v-deo.html
This is absolutely gorgeous! But how do you deal with the Subharmonicon not recalling back up what you've done before?
you're the jam master, alex!
Hah! 😘 I’m changing my name to “Jay” x

Ahh this is amazing, bless ya Jack! And thanks for everything you do 🙌
My god. The end was literally jaw dropping 😍
Thanks m8!! Hope you're well
All good here, hope you and your clan are well :) Jo and I getting in to doing live streamed jams with the M32 and DFAM. Might have to add this to it!
Agreed! What a finale.
Good show Alex, and the finale was classic!
mine didn't end ( I put it on loop )

This soundscape is my favorite of anything I've heard from you. Really really nice! Thank you!
Always the best videos when it comes to this stuff! You've made me buy so many things when I watch your videos...
I hear ya... This video may cost me a couple of grand! :D

Totally - Kraftwerk were doing just that - in 1976...(!)
My Studio3 was just delivered and I plan to unbox and start playing in the morning. I'm super excited and your video has been very informative and inspirational. Thank you!
Your feel for this - sound, texture, structure - is some of the best I have heard. You conjure magic at will.
👍Thanks m8, good gear helps!
This is the new benchmark in synth demo. Truly remarkable Alex !
Unbelievable. That end made me reach that place of peak joy where you can't smile anymore and I just burst out laughing. Sooooo good. Jesus I need this setup

Love the tribute to Florian 🙏🖤🕴
Two DFAMs, a Mom and a Sub is the perfect 4-Moog system. The unbelievably awesome nature of this video proves that. I only wish I could get mine to sound as good as yours!
I agree - this jam is insane. He makes them sound soooo good. Why two DFAMs though? Could he have conceivably made this jam with just the one?
@@J1M0TEE You can create percussion and tuned bass lines/arps simultaneously with cv patching pitch/vel/gate from a m32 or sequencer.
I have been waiting for someone to make this video! I love it! As an owner of the DFAM and Mother-32 already, I cant wait to get my hands on the Subharmonicon.
Now that looks like a fun system. The units really seem to compliment each other.
Very inspiring demo of these three Moogs. I love the term "Moog melody system". 🖤🖤🖤
MATE. Maaaaaate. This is all killer, no filler. You are at the peak of your powers. Great work.
🙌 Mate!
It's really good. The quality of the timbre of these instruments is excellent.

Ain't nobody gonna do it betta! That was a motherf*****g demo 🙌🏻

Def the most beautiful demo I've seen yet. Just wow thankyou for this!!!
15:22 this is so beatiful. I can't even describe it. Thx Alex for this jam.
This part felt very BOC/Christ. to me. I love that this set-up can do everything from Jungle to downtempo IDM (in a capable pair of hands, of course).
Best demo of this synth I’ve seen so far! Some technical explanation is ok but ultimately, I just want to hear what it can do. You nailed it, thanks
I've watched this all the way through 3 times, what an awesome performance
Ive never seen any reviews you have done. This is quite impressive sir. RMR said this was a beastly review..............and it was.
This is the best review of all three of these synths that I've seen.
I've got a DFAM & Mother 32 & now I have to decide what I'm going to sell to enable me to add a Subharmonicon to the system...
This is the only video on the new sub that actually sounds good. Well done Alex
do yourself a favor and skip the Sweetwater demo ... my ears are still hurting
Wow...🤯 Just wow! I don't have many words to discribe how amazing it sounds! Just respect!
Better than a lot of musical careers! Too many high points to mention, bravo, M'lard

Have a Mother 32, knew the Subharmonicon would be my thing totally, but after hearing your jam unrhythmical me even wants the DFAM!
those mellow chords at 8:40 literally made me open a new tab and check my balance god damn
my favourite subharmonicon video so far because the musical applications vs review ratio is perfect! particularly like that 18:00 part
Ordered! Watched and came back. Thanks to your vids and others I made the right decision.
Enjoy, it’s a killer combo 🙌

Completely brilliant! Mine is coming on Thursday, joining 3 Mothers and 2 DFAMs. It’s going to be a maelstrom, and this demo is so inspiring.
Ahhhh I was waiting for your video on it! Yessss! :D

I'm building a semi-mod system and am beginning to scratch the surface, ua-cam.com/channels/x2G5DAFpG2yMvy46PD6gbg.html
M32 was cool... DFAM was interesting. Wasn’t totally swayed but always admired them... Now with the Subharmonicon, I want all three as a fun station😂
Agree 100%. Kicking myself for not grabbing the other two when I've seen them used, but who could've known this was coming along to tie them all together!?

Such a tasteful review and explanation...placed my order.

I have the subharmonicon and in a few days will have the Mother.

cool setup- I just got my DFAM and having blast with it and Leipzig v3 for desktop synth fun. You motivated me to get the Subharmonicon/Mother combo.
TBH, the package deal on these is really quiet reasonable. Respect to Moog, a great product at a good price.
by far the best video for this synth
Rockin' that rig like you were born to play it.
Been awhile since we had a proper Alex demo. Beautiful pieces throughout.

This is the best demo of the MOOG semi-modular ecosystem. Period. Period. ;)

Awesome. One moog alone like the DFAM or M32 is pretty impressive but in a combo like this , a superb performative combination! And all warm deep analog too!

Hah thanks!! Did another performance vid which has a Q&A at the end here and sync is mentioned: ua-cam.com/video/7JuhsoJq01Q/v-deo.html
I knew this video was coming when the subharmonicon demos started to drop. It's as good as I thought it would. Thank you! (:
Absolutly lovely!! And I love that you have that Kraftwerk vinyl! Fantastic!
🤖❤️
A bit orbitally too. All good stuff
Great demo. Thanks for showing all 3 units together.
Brilliant video - I want one!! Love the idea of slow attack to create organic ambient beds and putting it through a Mercury 7 or Mood
Great to hear some actual music here.....as opposed to sounds in some of the other review, good job.
Ok it’s a couple years old but it’s new to me. Super great video. A mini concert!! Thx so much! You the Master!
INCREDIBLE. digging myself into a semi-modular moog hole. i don't understand how this stuff works and I am mesmerized. HOW DO I GET MY HANDS ON SOME OF THESE

need a DFAM too ... ouch $
Wow Moog has expanded this system up something fierce since I last looked :D
Thanks for teaching us how to dub step years ago 👍🏽
Legend!
I hardly comment but I hardly doubt you’re going to be the most inspirational about a new synth.
I stumbled upon your videos tonight, and I really dig your approach to explaining how these devices work! Excellent demos and music, man!
Brother, around 5 minute mark u have this drum and bass kinda beat, i love that!!!
The mad scientist now has this in his arsenal. What we've all been waiting for.👏
Oh wow especially that last Tune!
And btw, thx for the Neon lights 12" vinyl as a tribute to Florian.👍😢
This whole thing is cool, but the very beginning is what sold it to me. Right when you brought the M32 and DFAM in is when I got chills.
Listening to this video several times now because of the music and the calming voice of @mylarmelodies.
@mylarmelodies you, sir, have a love for your instruments and its always inspiring to watch ❤️🎛️
Despite the different genres it’s still sound like a troo Moog haha for real! That warmth is unmistakeable.
Question, can I use the sub hamonicon, dfam and mother 32 with the Moog Sub 25?
Best video on the new subharmonicon so far. Thanks, dude!
Order placed. Damn you Mr Melodies..... Damn your godlike skills at technodemos......
This is incredible.
The skill is to know what to keep !! You got that skill !
Thank you Mr Melody. Always a pleasure!❤️
