The story about Uncle Dan jumping a ramp with a dog at a family reunion was a knee slapper!!! What a bunch of good stories about the past we get to hear on the show!!! Hope you can get the Bomber on sometime soon!
27 minute mark. Agree with Ping about the new motocross track trend of sx style of jumps. Most of the older crowd that has to go to work in the morning to pay the bills don't necessarily want 100' do or die triples. I'd be down with it if I still lived with Mom and Dad, haha. Big jump tracks scare off the newbies also, and we need new riders!
@@EarthSurferUSA I was just referring to the local motocross tracks around the country, not professional supercross. Those guys are on a different level than most of us.

Dam awesome to see these guys that I grew up watching coming back and hearing some of their crazy stories. The 90's and early 2000's were truly the best time to be a rider and fan!
Dymond hauled ass at Carlsbad I'll tell u that. Fkng flew around that track. Those SX guys today would get lapped by the top guys in 87 . He partied w motley Crue saw them in his box van at Anaheim SX in 86.
First scene of micky diamond for me was in crusty.. long hair.. and sent it up the massive step up (mountain).. he didn't make it but that memory burnt into my brain.. it was so gnarly!
Mid 70's Maico's are the narliest, coolest dirt bike ever, when they ran. They'd come with sand still stuck to castings and the welds on the gas tank weren't filled. Total focus on purpose. Big Sandy, MT Hillclimbers loved them.
I grew up in Woodland Hills. I had numerous tracks i cut in , in the local hills all thru out the 70" - 80"s - 90"s in the west end of the San Fernando Valley. I was an Indian Dunes guy - 70"s 80"s and ultimately ventured out to all the So Cal tracks in my late teens and early twenties. I meet many of WT's guest at all the So Cal tracks , and it was true "AMERICANA" at its finest. What a time to be alive !!! I have a suggestion for a future guest - - - "Jack Barbacovi" of CRC fame. Jack would have stories about soooooo many MX hierarchy , and Jack is the salt of the earth. You guys do a great show.
Love this show Ping and GL, I was always a fan of Micky but this really shines light on what a thoughtful, deep and genuinely decent human being he is. Thanks for posting!
Thanks Ping for saying something about the groomed tracks. The old Montana track in 70's were rarely graded. Rough. Some bad designs though, bad jumps. How in the hell did you make in National Motocross coming from Montana? I live in Havre, Montana.
You should try to get Larry Ward, it'd be great to finally hear his stories. Matthes been trying to get him for years, to no avail. Maybe he'll come on this show?
Remember him at saturday SMX (Saddleback motocross), LONG motos is why we were there, he wore a sweatshirt at times when it was hot, I figured it must've been testing fitness, so I followed suit seeing if I could take the heat. Was the mispelling of his name on the screen under "episode 12" intentional?
Suggestions, Mark Blackwell, Carlos Serrano, B Grossi. Good to see you M.D. Back to doing a great job for motorcycling in general and MotoX It really takes a big man to own up to what we all at least most of us do when we dont care about ourselves, I have been threw it also as most dudes and gals I know have too and we are all better off now than most that will never know what life is truly about. GOD bless you M.D. and don't ever let anything get you down again!
Wednesday Night Indian Dunes, Thursday night Corona Raceway, Friday night Ascot park, Saturday where ever the best turn out would be, Sunday the same. SoCal MX used to be the shit but all those tracks are long gone.
Heard him on the Pulp show, and seem to more interested in bragging about the chicks he banged than his racing career. Is there anything daggier than a 50 plus year old guy bragging about his sexual conquests?
When Micky was talking about the end of '87 before going to Yamaha, I felt like maybe he would have talked about getting passed over for the second year in a row for the MXDN when they chose Bob Hannah over him. I wish he would have brought it up, or GL or Ping would have asked him about it. Oh well! As Ricky Carmichael would say "It's history."
Yeah, I just watched it again. No way would have webb had the angle on tomac if he would have landed on the actual track. What the penalty should have been, I don't know, but he gained and advantage.
This is such a great show and I've watched every episode. However, the show could be so much better if you got rid of Langston. Seems like a great guy, but he interrupts your guests , and Pingree far too often. Just food for thought. Pingree, great job keep it up.
Ping, langston, Webb totally gaind an advantage. Look at where he landed, he cut off part of the track he had to travel. If he would have landed 5 feet to the his right he wouldn't have been able to make the pass. Yes, There wasn't intent, but the rule doesn't just applies to where there is intent or not.
Too much pot has ruined your memory Mickey. Maico never made a 450, Bradshaw raced a WR 500 in the nationals, and Honda employeed Jeff Leisk in '88 as a team mate to RJ in the 250/500's............you got his old seat at Yamaha remember?

F’in Mickey Dymond!!!!! 🙌🏻🤙🏻 this is one more example of why our sport is the best on earth 🌍 each and every character has lived!!!!!!
What an honest interview, to apologize about who he was and how he acted in a low of his life. Much respect to the man.
