Great job, Don! I did the same on my 2017 non mutlti-gate.
I kept turning on the bed cover light (electric roll-in) to check light leakage until I had it right.
The one at the lower portion of the tailgate closure was the toughest.
Great tutorial, I might have to redo it based on your video and product. :)

No hope for sealing my tailgate. I barely bumped my tailgate on a wooden handrail. The corner got pushed in. I showed the dealer. They said it isn’t covered. I have a roll and lock cover. After two years. I would like to replace it with a backflip. I have the short bed, that little space the roll and lock container takes up. Makes a difference for me. I carry various things and digging it out from under that container is a pain.

Let's Go; Another great video. We just returned from a trip to the dusty mountains. Went to wash the truck this morning. And to our surprise, right at the same spots for the intense water test was red dust that we had to clean. Totally agree that for the cost of this mod would have prevented a good portion of that dust from coming through our tail gate. Great🎉👏👏timing on this video. ✌️out.

FYI, the reason there is access at the bottom of the tailgate (when closed) is so water can evacuate through that area. Less required when you have a tonneau. However, if the tonneau leaks, it will have no where to go if sealed.

Let's go. The box cover is still interesting to me. I have a Bakflip like you used to, but like the fact that yours doesn't cover the window when open. Trade off is loss of space underneath obviously.
A before video of how much water was getting in would have been a helpful comparison test.

Spray water in your tailgate gaps like I did. It is a flood. The box cover does a solid job with water. The tailgate not so much

Personally, I'm not concerned about the water but I drive gravel roads every day so I want to get the dust under control. So many people end up just leaving the covers halfway open to keep the dust from accumulating but that kind of defeats the purpose of the cover.
Your video reminded me to finally go ahead and order the seal kit.

Love the video! You mention sealing bed rail caps.. Have you ever done this? I have 22 AT4 with Diamondback bed cover and the cover does not leak at all and I love it!!
However, I have found water comes through under the GM plastic rail caps. Just curious on your thoughts about sealing the caps, how would you go about doing it and if you think it’s a good idea. Thanks

I am glad you like the video! I haven't sealed my rail caps due to the vinyl wrapping I do and the fact I like to tuck the film underneath them a little. However, if I did, I would use a thin bead of black silicone along the edge. I don't think it is a terrible idea if you are looking to seal up the bed as best as possible.

Doesn’t work, I had the same results after the install of this same seal, after a few months the small pieces of the gasket that get cut down started popping off of the truck randomly but this seal never worked to begin with, I mainly wanted to be moisture free because of traveling with luggage in the back and it has never kept the bed dry. Don’t waste your time or money.

Mine doing the same as the video. Only when I sprayed into the gaps with a pressurized hose allowed some water to trickle in. Probably from folding a seal. I can tell you my box stays a lot cleaner overall now
