The Smothers Brothers made numerous comebacks over the years, in 1988,to commemorate their 20th anniversary, they had a few new episodes on the station that threw them off, but it was more of a rehash of the show they did 20 years earlier. Chevy Chase wrote for this 1975 version before being hired for a new show that was deeply influenced by them, it was(& is ) called "Saturday Night Live ".
I have almost all of the 1988 series. Among all of the episodes of that series, there is probably about 40 minutes of good material. The problem is that there was not enough of the Brothers; no comedy sketches to speak of, and mostly music, sometimes, sadly, lackluster. It was more of a pale shadow than a rehash. It would have been interesting to see what they could have done if they were allowed free reign. The episode which celebrated their 20th anniversary was fun. The closest they got to having anything of a controversial nature was when they had the striking writers on, singing "Ghost Writers In The Sky". Now THAT was biting and worthwhile. Alas, we saw a nostalgia fest that wasn't.
Olivia's performance on the Smothers Brothers 1975 series was uploaded to UA-cam 9 months ago - ua-cam.com/video/yb3Yj_VE_x0/v-deo.html . Is that what you were looking for? "Have You Never Been Mellow" is followed by her beautiful duet with Dickie Smothers, "If You Could Read My Mind Love."
I think they were cancelled because they were put at a bad time, some think it was because of their political views, it's open to interpretation, but The Smothers Brothers are still around, they perform sometimes in clubs like they did in the early days.

Why does the show goes up against two iconic shows, Gunsmoke on CBS and The Rookies on ABC?
Because NBC had no faith in the series, which they only aired to fill time. Judging by this opening, it looks pathetic and silly.
RIP Tommy Smothers
Do you have the show of February 3, 1975 with Dom DeLuise?
I am looking for their third show, in January 1975, where Olivia Bewton-John sang Have You Never Been Mellow? Do you have it?
No, I'm sorry this is all I have.
