i've gotten an exact tie two times (same timing and amount of drumroll hits as the opponent) but i've still gotten extra points for basically nothing to get the win. don't understand what kind of mechanism is behind it

I really like how they use Shin-Uchi scoring for this, instead of combo-based scoring. It makes mistakes less punishing and comebacks are actually possible.
@Katherine Grebenc Shin-Uchi scoring is a scoring system where each note is worth a set number of points, and the maximum score for the song is always 1,000,000 on Shin-Uchi. Normally, the value of each note is dependent on your combo, so usually the higher max combo wins because of the multiplier at higher combo counts. With Shin-Uchi scoring, accuracy is prioritized since there's no combo multiplier. It's better for competitive play because of the emphasis on accuracy, rather than just having a high combo count.
@@BiFoxxo combo based scoring is bullshit lmao
you can FC a whole song and your opponent will still win because of better drumrolls
Combogaming is not possible
@@BiFoxxo So combo doesnt factor in at all with the shin-uchi scoring system?
Nope, not as far as I know. Think of it sort of like the scoring system in the newer DDR games or Sound Voltex, where every song has a score capped at 1,000,000 or 10,000,000 respectively, regardless of the number of notes in the song. No matter what song you play in Taiko, if you’re using Shin-Uchi, and are hitting every note perfectly, your score should cap out at 1,000,000, or something close to it. I don’t know how drumrolls are affected by this system, so I could be wrong.
When they say "nice to meet you"
They looked so angry
And are you god?
"they look angry" well sometimes they look angry when they're sometimes happy
Probably if they fixed the message to something like this "I'm gonna beat you" for angry purposes
Look at the fighting section they're supposed to be angry even though they are brothers (yes don and katsu are siblings)

Both players: You were perfect! I met... my match!
I was considering this game, but after this video I think I'm gonna return to my farm for about 10 years before trying. Too dificult for a noob like me lol
The game is very beginner friendly! Don't let my gameplay intimidate you, even I had to start somewhere!
I would recommend buying it on sale if you can.
I was thinking the same as you, but after buying this game, I regret nothing. It is so fun to play alone and beat your own record, or playing the minigames to have a good time following the rhythm.
I highly recommend this game.
@@Kev2o2 how do you best recommend playing this game? controller, touchscreen, or drum?
April 10 I got full perfect on a song 😊
@@MuOday even though you didn't ask me, besides the drum i believe the touchscreen is the easiest method but thats only because I played a ton of osu!taiko so I could be wrong but I always get better scores using the touchscreen

When P2 lost their combo I cried for them. Congrats to both the players.
This is so amazing! I love rhythm games, and this just tops the charts of amazing!!!
I just downloaded the game and I’m just speechless when I saw this
Me: reads Silent Jealousy
Me: *oh no*
This is my first time watching Taiko gameplay and I am thoroughly scared on multiple levels
It’s actually beginner-friendly.
You just saw the non-beginner-friendly side of things.
Nothing more satisfying than 100% the beginning drum rolls in silent jealousy
This guy: Performs sick beat before the song even begins 2:46
Me: *How do I even engage?*
Osu: we have the hardest rhythm songs
FNF: we have the hard as hell modded songs

It's so impressive watching this as a person who has just started playing and who sucks at the game lol
HOW?
What kind of training do you do to preform at this level?
Takes about 1-3 years of playing.
So in other words, *p l a y m o r e*
first step: become one with the drums
second step: train 24/7
third step: be asian

All of the TNT games are awesome, even though I never played one. All of the songs featured in the games from other works feels like a bigger crossover that Smash can only dream of, just as awesome to play as the original music featured in the series. Bamco strikes again. :3

Right... Online drum battles... Thank you, YT recommendations. xD Nice songs tho. And definitely good job with those matches! :3
Sometimes I envy rhythm game players
When your opponent starts playing the song before the notes show up on screen... Prepare to lose
Kevin and red would create tornado if they were to 1v1
2 angry drums fight eachother while listening to music
I cant even perfect megalovania on easy
I can perfect a 9 Star song of that counts...
What do you consider a "hard" beatmap or more specifically how many stars doea it get hard for casual players?
Are you playing with drums ? Because i'd like to someday get to your level but i'm using a controler, is it necessary to buy the drums to get to this level ?
This video was recorded using Joycon buttons.
Buying the drum isn't necessary at all to improve, almost everything learned through buttons can be translated into the drum and vice versa, granted you still need to learn how to drum and stay consistent.
If you wanna learn to drum, yeah sure, try out the drum! If you just want to play taiko with what you have, the controller is fine too, that's how console taiko is mostly played anyway :)
I never would have thought you were using joycon in this video !!! This is so crazy !!! Okay, this gives me hope that someday I can become an expert only with my joycons Haha soo cooool, thank you !
@@Kev2o2 I don't think the joycon skills are easily translated to a drum especially when it comes to an unmodded hori drum. They are way too unreliable.
holy hell, buttons? i'm sorry for both his fingers and joycon
i still wonder how these videos are so mesmerizing.
I am new to taiko and still suck at it! Managed to get hard mode on roki and AIAIAI but how,, good job!
Playing Roki on hard is pretty impressive too, Good job! Keep going!
Im on literally C+ and I can’t get over… people get it so good
Ggs your insane
they added ranked online? DOPE that was the only thing keeping me from trying out the switch version
Holy shit where can i get a drum for less than $250
If you can't get a drum, it's fine to stick with Joy-Cons. I'm doing somewhat decently on buttons, but it would be great to get a legit taiko controller. Maybe not the ones Hori makes (small and difficult to roll on them), but instead a custom controller made to resemble the arcade cabinets (which do exist, but I will never afford.) Until then, button worriors unite.
Bro that combo for the first song.
This is insane I can barely manage the normal mode
UA-cam recommended this, did not dissapoint
Looks hella fun
