    I've always struggled with skinnies. Dropping your pedal/crank/foot is an interesting one that makes 100% sense now that you mention it. I'll have to pay attention to it the next time I find a skinny.

    Great tips. Thanks. I practice skinnies all the time on a curb. I find that I need to begin a crank with my non-dominant foot so I can lightly ratchet with my dominant and use it to even out my weight distribution. Dropping hips is a new one on me. I'll try it.

    I appreciate this video a lot. All tips seem to be almost "common sense", however, I apparently don't have any of that, lol. I'm eager to go and apply these tips in just a few minutes. I guess I do have at least one issue that should probably be addressed; Breathing. Whenever I get into a clutch type situation, my breathing just pretty much stops. I more than likely let panic set in, breath less, get less oxygen than I need, and more problems compound the situation. Have just noticed this lately. I may just be out to lunch on this, but, if you feel that this is or can be an issue that could hinder skill(s) progression, any tips in this area would be helpful and appreciated. Always enjoy all your videos, your master level skills, your over the top technique(s), your in depth how to's, and your positive, upbeat style. Thanks for everything.

    • @JeffLenoskyTrailBoss
      @JeffLenoskyTrailBoss  5 років тому +2

      It absouletely can be a hinderance.Try to tell yourself when you're approaching a section to keep breathing, make it a concious effort and it should become more natural.

    This is one of the best videos on youtube for doing skinny riding. Which is sad as its very basic. I see trials riders hang a leg out and staying way more stable. On push and moto trials bikes. I'd love to see a more trials style really slow balance tutorial. I've been looking for 10ish months. Cant find anything.

      @@JeffLenoskyTrailBoss It’s weird, because I can do skinnies that are a foot high off the ground, but when the height increases up to four feet off the ground, I can’t do them. I think it’s the fear of falling off the skinny and going over the bars that holds me back. Any tips to use as the skinnies get higher?

    On my local trail, there is a tight berm that dips into a narrow bridge. I could never make that tight berm into the bridge except for one time in all my years of riding this trail. I could be a bit mentally scarred from falling into the ravine under the bridge one time...LOL.

    • @JeffLenoskyTrailBoss
      @JeffLenoskyTrailBoss  4 роки тому +1

      The current trend is definitley to ride more centered on the pedals like you are. I rode trials forever and since you were hopping and stuff riding more towards your toes gave you more pop. On downhill stuff centered is definitely better. If you're riding flats you can move around and use both depending on the situation, if you're clipped on maybe try splitting the difference for trail riding but if you're riding gnarly downhills stay where you are.

      I'm the same way... Jumping logs, pre-hopping, etc on the trail is easy. Doing a deliberate bunny hop is hard. I think the reason why is overthinking. On the trail, you just do it without thinking. When you've got time to think, you think instead of do and it gets all messed up
