I love ya'lls videos.they are all in a natural state.of course jay always brings a smile to e1's face with her cuteness and lil giggles and her sometimes straw hat.lol.take care you two.
My friend was here today watching you guys.He said Cole looks like a lumber jack.I told him he is a fishing lumberjack.LOL!Thanks for the fishing education.
Here is a tip. If you would like to freeze hamburger patties and not have stuck together or smashed together during the vacuum process. Pre-freeze your patties spread out on a plate. Then vacuum seal them. Freeze them over night works best. Once you have the vacuum sealed put them back in the freezer. Great for taking on camping trips. Use less ice and won't get water logged. Works for fish and other foods too.
Oh man, I love the vacuum packer! If I ever catch any crappie, which I hope to soon, I most definitly need me one of those! Thanks for sharing how to pack em! Anyway, I really look forward to your up coming fishing trip! You two are my most favorite channel ever!
I love this video! I have always wanted to see the massive amount of pelicans up close!!! Thank you for videoing this for us!!!! Maybe, one day, you can take me out there!!! This is also definitely the best way to store your fish and other freezer foods!!! Love you!!! Mom
love the videos. Just a simple add to the sealing, if you roll up one single paper towel and set it above the fillets on the final seal it will grab any moisture that is present. Keep up the great videos!!
Nice!!! I need you guys to send me some of those Arkansas crappie so I try them to see if it’s any taste difference between those and Missouri crappie! Good job, keep the videos coming.
Well that was very cool. I wish I can catch that amount of slabs, this area in my county ( Stanislaus County ). Most of the lakes are been used for water but soon as the show melts the water will fill those back up and fishing will be happening again. In January 2019 the rivers around here will open up for fishing and going to try luck again. I sure enjoyed the video and will try this as soon as the fish come back. You and your family have a Merry Christmas and Happy New year. Skip & Crystalin Russell, Modesto, California
I wish you could see the small gathering of your followers here in my house. Kids from 5 to 65,, 9 in all who totally enjoy watching you 2 and lets not forget Granny. Tight lines to you
Pelicans? In Arkansas? Wow! I live way down south Texas....we have pelicans along the coast line! Never thought y’all would get pelicans! Beautiful footage of them! Watching you seal and store the fish was cool....I want some fish! Gonna have to go “buy” some fish and have a fish fry this weekend!
That's a lot of Pelicans you should feed the Crappie head to them, sure is a nice freezer full of Crappie filet's. The seal-a-meal works awesome for anything you want to freeze great video ;-)
The best thing about vacuum sealer is meat don't freezer burn. I've seen while pelicans on small lake s here in Northeast La their huge. Enjoy ed the video
Hello my Friends I am waiting for you to start glowing after watching the last video at the power plant 👻💀😵 I do love watching Y'all fish and have fun Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
I would love to be where I could catch fish (crappie) like you all. I was checking property around your lake and noticed that many would require flood insurance. Then I watched some flooding videos from last year and wondered if you all were under water during that flood.
Yeah, our property isn’t in the flood plain, but we still have to have flood insurance. A few years ago my dad’s old place had a foot of water in his house when the lake flooded. The lake doesn’t flood all the time, but about once a year it will come up pretty good with some heavy rains. I’m sure there are some properties that really get hit hard.
@@COLE_and_JAY Glad to hear you are above the flood plain. That is always something I consider when looking at property. I've seen first hand how devastating floods can be. I just found your channel a few days ago and really enjoy watching y'all, keep up the good work!
Just wondering if you have a garden. My grams always said to bury fish caucuses in the fall to enhance the soil. I've haven't tried it due to lack of fish. I too love my seal-a-meal. I always use it for my chicken breasts before going into my little freezer.
Great video! I would be lost without my vacsealer. I am on my third one. I have worn 2 completely out. Between deer and fish and home grown vegetables, I use mine almost daily. I also vacseal smoked and cooked meat like chicken and BBQ. When sealing cooked meat the vacseal bags are good for boil in bags and it doesn't dry they meat out or lose any flavor. When I light my cooker, I usually do at least 20 or 30 lbs of meat. Serious question.....in NC we have consumption warnings due to heavy metals and contaminants in our waters. Do you have any concerns of this in your area? Thanks for sharing!
We don't have much of a problem with heavy metals in our area. Sometimes issues will arise and signs will be put up on certain bodies of water letting anglers know, but that is pretty uncommon! Thanks for watching!!
@@COLE_and_JAY SC/GA has PCB issues from the 60's/70's some bodies of water for gamefish is eat one or none per month, some crappie/bluegill 15/30 each fishin', but don't eat them all at once.
You probably have shown how you actually fillet your crappie in the past. If you have , maybe you could forward a link. Be good to see Jay back fishing again, but with two young ones it a little more of a challenge. Keep on fishin’ love watchin’
Nice video, you can never have enough fish in the freezer(especially if you have friends and family). But isn't it time for a newer vacuum sealer, the new ones put a lot better vacuum on the package.
Question: I bring back my crappie from FL and freeze them in water to avoid freezer burn. Do you ever get any with freezer burn or use them that quick to avoid. I freeze in water to make the 1500 mile trip to MI and 3 days of driving. Sure would take up less room in the coolers this way and have to think about this.
We haven’t had any issues with freezer burn. Not sure what the shelf life is with this method, but I know for sure we have eaten year old fish in vacuum sealed bags. This way is definitely more efficient for storing fish and it takes them no time to thaw out which is really great! 👍👍👍
Hey guys, better hope those Pelicans don't stay around long, they can and will destroy the fish population in a small lake ! I do things in the sealameal too, works great just gets a little expensive for the bags. I sure would love to have a freezer full of crappie, super good eating ! Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
When do you guys look in the freezer and know when you need to fill back up? Like how long usually does it take you to go through the cooler from start to finish?
I like to put the fish into the bags and get them 50% or more frozen first, then vacuum seal. The seal is quite impressive this way and I don't have to pat them down to dry either.
i know some pelicans migrate but i want to know where those came from and where are they headed south im sure bu i wonder what they are doing that far north this late in the year really cool
They are here in Arkansas right now and the majority of these birds will continue to migrate down towards the coast and into Mexico. They came down from the Northern plains up in the Dakotas and up in Canada. That is where they breed at. Some non breeders will stay on the coast year round.
I have a problem, y'all. Every time I go on UA-cam to look up something specific, like a tutorial for something I don't know how to do, I see there's a new Cole and Jay video and I get side-tracked. I know how to put up fish, but I HAD to watch. So if y'all could just make your videos a little less fun and interesting, that'd be great !😆 Question for Cole: Is Jay EVER grumpy?
How long does ur fish last sealed and stored in ur deep freezer? I'm long time fisher and releaser but gonna start keeping fish to eat an got a few things to learn yet Happy fishing happy catching

I saw a cheaper way to freeze your fish on UTUBE. just wrap it in plastic wrap making sure you squeeze out as much air as possible. make sure you fold over the ends as you roll it up..Put the rolls in gallon or guart freezer bags and freeze. Honest your fish will last a year at least. I've even eaten some older than that and they were not freezer burned and still tasted just fine.
We used to do that, but got tired of waiting forever for them to thaw out. I think vacuum sealing may keep them fresher longer, but it’s hard to say! Thanks for watching!!!
The pelicans are cool to look at but they sure can damage a fishery. They started coming to the Rock river 4 or 5 years ago for the summer and there is a very noticeable drop in the fish population. I hope they do not stay by you guys for your sake. They by the way are North American White pelicans and they live in fresh water rivers and lakes and they migrate in the spring and fall.
