I liked Virgil back then actually. He had a good look, but when I look back and see he's become a hustler, it's a shame. Maybe if he was sweeter and went and told some good stories he'd get somewhere ya know?
Well to be fair, every wrestling fan is all of a sudden an expert on interviewing and puts out shoot interviews, when most of em are rude and butt in, interrupting the wrestlers, can't handle criticism, etc.....the guy from No Kayfabin' is in my opinion the rudest of them all, who gets eventing wrong, the wrestler always correct him and he interrupts saying "yeah yeah yeah, uh yeah that's what I thought". I honestly don't blame most of the wrestlers for being douches to these marks. Love the Youshoot guy, and Kayfabe Commentaries, etc. very professional imo.
+Aaron Bushong I agree with you 100%. The Youshoot interviewer (Sean Oliver) is the only good shoot interviewer out there. He's respectful, professional and has a good personality. Most of these other shoot interviewers are just social outcasts, with no people skills whatsoever!!
BuryMeInSmoke538 you are right. Shoot interviewers are a lot of people who just get a camera and read off a piece of paper. Not to justify Virgil but he did make a point of this interviewer not doing a good job
Let's be honest. Virgil was nothing more than a glorified jobber, although his theme music was awesome! He did have his short period of fame but even so, he was never a big star. Sadly, I think that he thinks (and expects) people to treat him like he was a huge WWF superstar. He's just encouraging people to constantly ridicule him. I don't know if he's slightly retarded (no joke) or suffering from some sort of mental illness. Either way, it's quite sad to see him like this. It's ruining a lot of my childhood wrestling memories from the early '90's.
i started laughing hysterically when he started naming all the people he worked with. I'm sure someone like the great Bobby Heenan would only mention Virgil if he was saying "and then there was THIS guy I had to work with......"
Virgil messed up when he played the game like a good little slave instead of taking control of his career. When Virgil was in the fued with Ted Dibiase that was the perfect time to train him to be a serious in ring performer to get the United states championship or the Intercontinental Championship.
So what you lil Punk done in life pointing your finger so sharp?! Not everyone can be the Top Belt Guy! There are only those few spots! And they are political - strength in numbers and most of all Family Nepotism. Old favors for the dad, uncle, cousins e.g. It's already a massive way up to even get a WWF contract. I don't see what's the issue with Virgil. He had his gimmick as British Bulldog or Papa Shango, Yokozuna got theirs. It's the typical Tito Santana, Tatanka, Papa Shango & Co. Story. And then on the other side ppl bitch about Shawn Michaels because after yrs of having to lose to way less talented guys he had to do smth to overcome mid-card status until he is not needed anymore. Virgil was alright as gimmick. Ric Flair was 99% more bore to sit throu with his 4 lame moves and a hundred chops! All the hate is telling more about the haters! Of course he can be bitter. The business is crucial and he was just to much of a nice guy to be spat out. Virgil is not even in my Top 50, I only really care about 10 wrestlers actually. But this internet mobbing from lames who are 9 levels underneath him is most pathetic. In 1991 y'all would have exploded of excitement with teary eyes if he had signed autographs officially as an WWF event, which they did very rare and few. It's just the projection who is artificially pushed - same as with music! It's not the ultimate gospel Shitney Spears or Tschassdin Weeeener could have a career burying Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson!
Virgil had the impressive physique, and could mean mug like nobody's business, but that's all he had. His wrestling stunk, all he could do well is that flurry of jabs spot that he did FAR too often. He wasn't good on the mic, he didn't have any charisma. When he did get his push, it was riding an easy wave -- a long-suffering peon standing up to his evil boss will always get over big in pro wrestling -- but the push was half-hearted: when he did win, it was with an asterisk (DQ, interference, etc) so he wasn't really gaining any steam. After the feud with Ted, nobody really cared about any of his C-Lister feuds. Then he became Jobber To The Stars and that was pretty much the end. Virgil the Manservant was the perfect role for Mr. Jones: it played to his strength of being imposing, and avoided his liabilities (drab personality, bad ring skills, etc). Sure the breakaway gave him a big but brief pop, but he couldn't go back to the role, and he really wasn't any good elsewhere. His current image of being a hustling carny trying to live off his past fame is kind of pathetic, but it apparently is working, otherwise we wouldn't be hearing from him anymore.
To much trouble interviewing Virgil, but if you are trying to make a name for yourself you have to do what you have to do. Some of it was funny, but he doesn't understand that he must talk during the shoot. I don't want to hear the interviewer on DVD.
Imagine Virgil during the pandemic. 'Nobody showed up. I blame Covid' And the organisers are like 'Virg, they did show up, they're queuing up, social distance style outside Just Joe's table. Hundreds of them'
This is mindbogglingly hilarious. It's so vintage Virgil. I met his lonely ass at the WM 2013 convention here in Jersey at a table with he himself and only him. He desperately tries to hustle you for a buck. I broke his balls but he took it in good nature because he knew I wasn't being serious. My friend who I went with felt sorry for his isolated punkass and paid him $5 to apply the Million Dollar Dream on him WM 7 style.
@@jerseyirish I responded to the right comment and it's you, if you met Virgil and you crying about him wanting tips , all of those so called sports stars including baseball players and basketball players are only concerned about making money its a business .And if Virgil as you said swindled you out of anything can I give you a refund. I'm tired of hearing you cry about it, it's kinda petty and annoying at the same time.

Virgil was Ted Debiase's do-boy, butler - whatever you wanted to call him, when Reagan was friggin President. He has no charisma, no skills and no fans. Never has, never will. He should be glad people want to talk to him period. Is "Virgil - Wrestling Superstar" his new gimmick or something?
Give the dude a break. He’s Virgil not top talent. Also, he accompanied the best in the business during his hay day. These fools doing the shoot is what really sucked. Awful shoot. Not virgils fault
Virgil was no damned superstar, he was a slave
He wast the Top Jobber in WWF. 2nd wast Chico Santana! They lose frequently!
Kylo Run and maybe Barry Horowitz
Your right but Virgil could have been a United states champ or an intercontinental champ if he took control of his career.

All wrestlers are hustlers
If I were the interviewer, I'd have taken that sign down and cancelled the interview.
Years ago, my lil cuzzo asked for his autograph (to an empty session like in the photo), to which he replied 'beat it, kid'.
Cuba Gooding Jr should play him in a biopic.
Go get my damn drank. lol
+Marx Aur How many times did Ted say that to him???? Lol
He doesn’t seem that pissed… the whole vibe is weird af

Antoine Dodson's Bandana my thoughts exactly. I feel bad for the guy.
The interviewers still need to give respect if they expect to get it in return. That should be applied to everyday life.

Virgil has turned into Baby Jane Hudson at this point. Except that BJH was successful at one point in her pathetic life.

I swore there was a video of this interview now you can only find an audio lol...
he should set up a shoe polishing seat he will make more
It would fit right in with his character as well.
