Nice old CB, we had one back in the early 80s well my oldman did in the car and it was the first ssb we had. I collect the odd classic myself when I come across them and I use them occasionally. 40 years plus and still into CB.
@@Pull_It_Apart_Paul_Ham_CB Yes you are correct a fantastic pastime, I am also a full call here in the UK so I do both sides of the Hobby it's been a blast and I wouldn't change any of it. Cheers
Have several of this model. Great radios. Also have 2 of the rebranded black face versions with 3 bands. Only difference is the band switch and internal crystal (band) board. Unfornately I gave up on talking on CB's as soon as the solar cycle started to kick in. Just to many LIDS on the chicken band. May get back on once the solar cycle starts to die down in a few years. I always look up to you Mike as do many of my subscribers. I'm new to this model not a fan of the later models as they are strictly rebadged other chassis. Swizzradios has a similar collection to yours, eg black face and 4 other silver models. I hear you re LIDS 😉 Are you exploring much on ham bands these days Mike? I'm active on HF inc WARC but only FT8 that's all location allows. Paul de VK3MR
@@Pull_It_Apart_Paul_Ham_CB I'm on the radio 7 days a week on local repeaters and simplex on 2M, 1.25M, 70cm, 33cm, 23cm, 13cm, 9cm, 5cm and 3cm. Am currently working on building transverters and grid parabolic dish antennas for 1.2cm and 6mm bands. I frequently do FT8 on all HF bands. I just checked my log and it doesn't look like we have worked each other yet. I'm sure we will run across each other sooner or later. 10M was crazy today, actually yesterday. Currently 2AM here. Worked over 100 Japanese stations on 10M and 12M FT8 and FT4. Also got several AU, NZ and other Oceana stations. Waterfall was so full it was hard to find a transmit slot.
Most SMW are all crap except for the server power supplies. They are very good and have a lot of internal safety circuits. I have a few 55V ones at 60 amps..lovely and clean and literally no voltage sag at full current or even any noise. Use the PS for LDMOS amps

Good on you, and reflect on how much you have learnt

When one does their research well, this pays dividends in reliability. Well done with your decisions
